WHAT WE NEED IS…reflect on how damn lucky we have been as pens fans the last 15years

I think having young hungry players will rejuvenate some of the older players and add that energy we lacked most of the last two seasons. I think older players not only slow down but play more efficiently to save the energy for the big moments. We need some kids with legs and energy to burn to keep the overall pace of our team game up. Sustained pace and grit would go a long way towards being hard to play against imo.

What is needed is a hard hitting and tough defense !

The NHL needs to fix this thing where players don't stick with teams. Sid, Geno , and Letang are rarities. Some kind of discount against the cap to stick with the team. Take Guentzel. Say he signs with the Rangers for 10 million against the cap for 8 years, if he signs the same contract to stay with the Canes it would only count 9 million against the cap even though he gets paid 10 million. Say a 10% less cap hit to stay with the Canes. Yes they have parity in the league , BUT they got to stop punishing teams for being good.

It's mind boggling Dubas is still employed by a team let alone running one of them.

I have heard that both the Devils (10th overall) and the Sabres (11th overall) picks are in play. Seems to be a theme this year. Could one (or more)of the 30 somethings on the Penguins be moved for a top twenty pick🤔

i trust in Dubas. Guentzel's gone bros, he's exactly the kind of player they need to shed to let the young guys shine. Aging and on the decline after hitting his peak. i like him, but it's time to just acknowledge his contributions over the past years and move on. they weren't good with him for the last two years, there's no incentive to bring him back and he's not going to sign for less than what he's worth, this is his last chance to cash in on a big long term contract.

I don't disagree but I'm not holding my breath. Once Sid and core is retired it needs to stop for sure. Hopefully with the cap they'll still be able to use the money to put a product on the I've that can keep the fans buying tickets

Gotta deal jarry clear that cap. They have really good goaltending in AHL and ECHL. ECHL goalie won that leagues goalie of the yr and is 22 turning 23

We need an enforcer player who plays hockey as well. Malkin can’t be our enforcer.
