Picking someone simply because of the color of their skin, even in the face of overwhelming evidence that the other person is superior, is clear cut racism. Racism is power. One race, in power, keeping another race from being judged equally, given equal opportunities etc. Black women have the power in women's basketball and they are trying to steal an award from Caitlin Clark, a white woman, that she has earned. Dawn Staley, a black woman, is one of the most powerful women in women's basketball with tremendous reach and influence. This is racism.

It is interesting to see so many white folks get so angry when they watch what they perceive is racism in this one instance. Perhaps now they understand in a very small way how people of color have been treated on the regular for centuries. They are angry because they realize now how racist oppression feels. Imagine the pain of racism when it affects more than a game.

Just ask Kelsey Plum (who held the NCAA scoring record before Caitlin) or Candace Parker (NCAA champ, WNBA ROY and WNBA MVP as a rookie) Diana Ionescu, et al. They all go through it. Caitlinn's just the public/media darling so these casuals think they need to cape up for her and they don't. She's a baller and her game will speak for her. She misses a lot of gimmie shots around the rim and creates rebounding opportunities for herself, so this attests more to the inability of her opponents to properly block out after shots. I’ll take 3 turnovers for 1 highlight play anyday- as a new fan of the W… I watched a little a number of years ago but this reminds me of 1996 and Tiger… remember in the end if her spark just gets people to look at the game- mission accomplished.. if race is the criteria of selecting a ROY, Reese is the sure winner, but if talent, skills and charisma then it is Clark....

So now you are blaming her team mates. Michael Jordan didn't blame his team mates. LSU was the better team and that's why they won the Championship. They wasn't supposed to be there . But they surprise everyone. 😅

There is NO way Iowa, with Clark and her team, could have won a National Championship not against LSU in 2023, not against South Carolina in 2024. For God sakes, South Carolina out rebounded Iowa 51 to 29.

I agree, I have lost all respect for Coach Staley for making that statement. I don’t want to ever hear anything she has to say from now on. I never cared for her demeanor anyway, she looks creepy, and I think she is gay.
