Pembrokeshire Coast & Carmarthenshire: 10 Great Things To Do

My guide for the best things to do in The Pembrokeshire Coast. The Pembrokshire Coast is a national park in South West Wales, it's full of epic scenery, breath taking coastlines and gorgeous towns, all in such a small area which makes it the perfect place for a holiday! So here is my top 10 places to visit whilst in The Pembrokeshire Coast.
I have recently updated and improved this video, you can watch it here:
• 20 Best Things To Do o...
There are so many things to do in the Pembrokeshire Coast including the famous town of Tenby from my previous video.
- Watch Tenby Video Here -
• 15 Best Things To Do i...
Other than Tenby is the town of Laugharne, home to the famous welsh poet Dylan Thomas. As well as as many castles as you could possibly wish for, all from the 11th Century, these norman style castles have been partially restored and are very cheap (and even free) to enter. As well as the smallest city in the UK. You can also catch some Epic Cornwall style waves here, see where the land speed records were set in the 1920's and much more.
Here is the list from the video:
- Visit Tenby
- Walk 5 Mile From Saundersfoot To Tenby
- Visit Laugharne Castle
- Visit The House of Dylan Thomas
- Visit Manorbier Castle
- Viait St. David's (The Smallest City in the UK)
- Surf At Newgale Beach
- Drive Down The Pembrokeshire Coastline
- Visit Pendine Sands
- Visit Llansteffan Castle
I will be making another video soon about the best things to do in Snowdonia and Anglesey as well as more about my full road trip.
- Check out the full 'Perfect Wales Road Trip' playlist here -

Solva is a great little place to stop at if heading to St Davids it is quite good for Wheelchairs and the people are helpful there is also a lovely cafe on the quay. Very quaint.

If I was dating the castles mentioned, I'd say Laugharne is mainly 13th-14th century in terms of what you see. Manorbier (which I love) is certainly more Norman as it has lovely Romanesque features... but it's still more 12th century than 11th. And Llansteffan’s... whilst also Norman to begin with, is actually on the site of an Iron Age fort, so you can either call it much older or... again, more 12th century than 11th. This is because most (barring very rare exceptions) early Norman castles in the 11th century after the 1066 invasion were speedily constructed in wood (atop the raised mottes)... and only those that remained important over time got the stone you start to see much later.

Love west wales, next time you should carry on from ST David’s to Abereiddy to the blue lagoon, absolutely stunning and you can walk about 30 minutes further along the cliffs where you come to the smallest harbour called Porthgain with a lovely restaurant right in front of you.

We did in fact visit again last week. We walked from St Davids to Porthclais Harbour which was such a picturesque harbour that was so unexpected. We then drove further on to Abereiddy and the Blue Lagoon for a swim which was amazing! Next time I'll make sure to walk further on towards Porthgain!

Hi, we'll be visiting Pembrokeshire coast in about a week and will be visiting Manorbier castle. We were wondering how much time you would spend there as we're also visiting Tenby that day and want to make the best of it. Would a couple of hours suffice?

  • @AlexTravels1

Manorbier is a great castle to relax at but there are also lots of details to explore! So I think you could spend a couple of hours there. There are so many things to do in Tenby so you could easily spend a full day there if you wanted to. For a more detailed look at everything you can do in Tenby, feel free to watch my video on Tenby here: kzread.info/dash/bejne/jIqXspiLlLe4h6g.html

Good video but just a bit of constructive criticism for you: Some places on this list of things to do in Pembrokeshire are not in Pembrokeshire! Laugherne and Llansteffan are not in Pembrokshire. Also would have been good to include a bit more on Pembrokeshire national park which is for many the best part of the county.

Trying to put my finger on what you might do on this channel and one thing maybe... sometimes the camera shot can feel limited, instead of feeling like you are there it feels like looking at photos... sure, sometimes this is correct but sometimes it feels a bit boxed in.
