UK VANLIFE AT ITS BEST (Pembrokeshire, Wales)

This week we arrive in Wales on the ferry from Ireland and get treated to stunning summer weather in Pembrokeshire, we find some amazing parkups and make friends with some lovely people on the road! Subscribe and join us for the ride - with new videos every Sunday at 5pm :)
We are Tom and Iz - a couple from Cornwall who decided to hit the road and embrace a new way of life, living and exploring in our tiny home on wheels, La Bamba. We invite you along with us on our recent escapades in our weekly vlogs. We love to embrace adventure and soak up nature every day. We're currently traveling around Wales in our transit van and have just finished the Wild Atlantic Way in Ireland, where we stayed for 4 months! If you've missed our travels so far - check out our previous episodes, we upload weekly on a Sunday at 5pm :)
This week starts with us entering onto UK soil from the ferry, we wake up in our parkup in the town of Fishguard, where we treat ourselves to coffee and focaccia from the local bakery. We enjoy our breakfast by the cliffs of Fishguard, taking in the summer weather. We take a few hours back at the van to do some work but can't stand to stay inside in this stunning weather, we head off to meet Helen who runs the Cambrian Inn and we have a lovely 3 hour walk with her around the area and then head to her pub where she treats us to a pie! We have a bit of a wild night but, determined not to be hungover the next day, Iz declutters some of her stuff from her wardrobe to make space for all the recent charity shopping she's been doing!
We head off to explore Pembrokeshire further and find a blue lagoon. We embrace the summer weather and dig in for a picnic by the lagoon, then after putting off the swim for far too long we take the plunge! Iz gets chilled to the bone and runs around the beach to warm up!
We head off to a nearby campsite which is unexpectedly so good! It's right on the cliffs and we have a spot looking out on to the sea. We embrace being able to spill out of the van at the campsite and Iz cook us up dinner to have outside, we watch a beautiful sunset and tell you about this week's sponsor!
The next day we are off to St. Davids, the UK's smallest city! It's a beautiful day and Isabel managed to find a charity shop after 2 minutes walking through the city! We explore the stunning cathedral and grab a coffee in the sun. Then we decide it's far too lovely not to visit the beach so we head off to Whitestrand where Isabel cooks us up a pasta lunch in the van and brings it out to the beach. We walk along the cliffs soaking up the summer vibes before making a move to find a spot to parkup for the night.
We do struggle to find a spot at first and notice there are far more "No overnight parking" signs (than in Ireland) but then we luck out and find the perfect spot overlooking the water, it's level and the view out our door is stunning. We head down to the beach and Tom watches the sunset from the top of the van!
We wake to make some friends with our van neighbours and head down to the beach for a swim, we had the place all to ourselves! We decide to have the first BBQ of the year with our new friends Malakai and Jenna, and head down to a gorgeous beach that is actually fenced off so a bit tricky to scramble down to, but it's worth it! We have a great time chatting and eating our BBQ. We head our separate ways and move 30 minutes north on the coast to Stack Rocks Car Park. We have to drive through a military base to get there and this means it's a "No fly zone" for our drone so we can't show you any aerial shots.We visit the archways, the cauldron, and the sea stacks . Tom is normally good with heights but even his legs go wobbly at this spot!
Our final day in Pembrokeshire starts with a wake up call from the nearby cows, an "izzie-style" cappuccino before driving to Tenby. We make our way to the North beach and Iz replies to some comments on the beach! We have plans to be in Bristol the next day so with that in mind we move on to Buryport after exploring Tenby, where we find a great parking spot for the night right on the beach!
We have our last night in Pembrokeshire before heading to Bristol and we hope you will join in next week's episode where we will show you our Bristol visit!

May 2 2023: Believe I found this incredible channel now two weeks. II have been loving watching their travels. So, does anyone else when Isabele starts her cooking or when they find a great eating place you want to get up and eat also? One could gain weight here!😊😝 All joking aside it is so wonderful to see two young adults being so responsible where they travel. Plus to see the charity shop finds for Isabele. Amazing history lessons we receive and encouragement to get out there and hike. Loving it guys keep it goig.
A friend took me to that Tenby beach about 20 years ago saying there is never anybody there even in summer as no one knows about it....when we arrived there was at least 100 people it was bonkers

Haha, yeah was nice to have some good weather and get the drone out again, has been so windy for ages. The landscape is amazing along that coast isnt it

@@LostInTransit You're making us salivate and want to return to the UK as soon as possible! Maybe fall. Might have to bring a drone with more high wind capability next time though! Maybe the DJI FPV is the ticket? We can always haul them Mavic 3 as well. That's got some pretty good strength

Haha, yeah we will still be repping Ireland for a while, although, unfortunately that was the end of our Irish bread supplies.

Thanks John, yeah we have been a bit careful since the drone crashes, but the weather has also been less than perfect the last few month ho mad the most of the clear blue skies and no wind! Glad you like the music, i really enjoy finding bits i think will work well. Thank you for watching

Yeah we were blessed with the weather, it was like being in the Mediterranean. We really want to head back and explore more of Wales and delve into the culture a bit more

Pembrokeshire is beautiful. 👍 I'd recommend the coasts and lakes around Snowdonia and North Wales too, on your travels. I've lived in some beautiful places around the world, and I'll be controversial here - I think the UK can rival anywhere in the world. Especially North Wales and remote parts of West Cornwall. Even if the weather isn't always great, it's crowded, and despite councils have a war on campervans here. It's easy to take for granted - good job showing what we have on our doorstep. I'm always looking for new parkup ideas, for my own trips.

"War on campervans" ??? You can't just pull up and camp these days ???

@@f.dmcintyre4666 Depends where you pull up. In Cornwall, for example, overnight campervan parking is banned across all public car parks, with many street regulations. Snowdonia and North Wales have similar policies. Overnight is banned in National Trust car parks. You will find places to Park, just not in the beauty spots you visited during the day. But it varies. Devon has relaxed many such policies to boost tourism. Scotland is very van friendly, with one night, roaming rights in law to park on any public land. Park4Nite can be hit and miss, but Iz and Tom do a good job finding parkups here. It'd be nice if we had proper Aires like Europe, or a US style policy.

Shockingly it was actually fairly warm, we even got a little bit of a rosey sun burn glow. We may have been a bit to excited and donated lots of our big jumpers that we could do with again now, haha
We love North Pembrokeshire and have a small cottage between Letterston and Mathry. Your video is excellent and not many people know that there are other beautiful places in Pembrokeshire besides Tenby and Saundersfoot in the south of the country. Thank you for showing Fishguard's beauty and not many people know that when you sat at the top of Goodwick, you were looking down on Fishguard Bay and in the distance, Lower Town, where Dylan Thomas's Under Milk Wood was filmed. Also Moby Dick was filmed in the Bay as well as in Ireland. Loved your video and Best Wishes on your travels! Gerry Hobbs

Pembrokeshire is just glorious and that Blue Lagoon overhead shot was simply sublime. Given a toss up between Ireland and there, there's not a lot of daylight to separate them. Ireland looks like the Russians invaded, whereas all your old Abbey's are intact. And I couldn't help noticing a certain young Penguin felt the cold for the first time in ages. What a shock that was! Who'd have ever thought UK water was colder than ours?

Haha, the cows were comedy. No such thing as a lie in when you're parked up next to them guys. It was really nice to be able to fly the drone again, i have been a bit nervous since the crashes, and it has been so windy recently. We cant wait to head back to wales and explore it a bit more and delve into its history and culture a bit more. Thanks for watching again Conall

I wouldn't call it warm, haha. Certainly takes your breath away, but on a hot day it is nice. Wales is well worth a visit, a beautiful part of the UK with such a rich culture and history as well
excellent vid again guys. Tenby is such a lovely place with a fantastic beach and the people are so welcoming as well. Looking forward to more adventures in the future.

Yeah, everyone we spoke to were so friendly, would love to go back one day and explore more of Wales, such a cool country, would love to learn a bit more of the history and meet more of the locals

We loved it. We have both spent a fair few family holidays in wales as children but never made it down to Pembrokeshire. It is so nice! Actually really reminds me of home (Cornwall a.k.a West Wales) Cant wait to get back to Wales and discover some more hidden away spots and learn more about the nation!

The beach with the blue lagoon is actually called aberiedy. I have some family that live really close to there and it was so cool to see it on your channel!

Yeah the west coast tends to be a lot clearer. I went to university in Aberdeen and the sea was like gravy, haha. There are some lovely spots on the east though and the weather is usually better. Thanks for watching Rob, glad you enjoyed it
