Peening a rivet through the pivot of a Higonokami knife.
Description and demonstration of peening a rivet through the pivot of a Higonokami knife, brass handle was fabricated by folding sheet brass with a brake vise. Knife blade is blue paper steel manufacturered by Higonokami in Japan, making your own handle is a straightforward and enjoyable project.

Better to use the ball, work in small circles around the centre of the rivet, and better to have the whole knife joint flat so the thumb press needs to overhang. I blame the cameraman myself.

I always thought you used the domed end of the hammer? I ask because I don't know but would like to please.

It all depends what you're trying to achieve, I want to flatten the rivet end and mushroom it slightly, so using the ball pein end wasn't necessary.

للأسف كنت على وشك شراء هذه السكاكين لكن تفاجأت عند زيارة موقعهم على الإنترنت أنهم يضعون على مقابض السكاكين صور دعارة ؟!!!!! يا للأسف .... لن أشتري هذه السكين حتى يتم إزالة الصور القذرة في موقعهم .... شكرا
