Pedal Board Rebuild - The GigRig QuarterMaster and Three2one
In this video we take a look at rebuilding my Pedaltrain-2 board with a serious upgrade via The GigRig QuarterMaster switcher and GigRig Three2one switcher/pre-amp. The GigRig QMX-8 was chosen for it's simplicity yet gratifying control to allow stacking of pedals or automatically switching between different pedals.
I'm not affiliated with Pedaltrain, GigRig or any of the pedal companies. Just a guitar player who has turned into a bit of a gear nerd thanks to That Pedal Show on KZread.
In this video you can pick up a few tips for changing out velcro without a mess left behind, thoughts on layout or switching which might give you some ideas.
Then I plug into a vintage silverface Fender Super Reverb (non-master volume) and crank it up for some noodling with MojoTone '58 Quiet Coil pickups and then a guitar I made which feature Lollar P-90's. This guitar was also appeared in Vintage Guitar Magazine February 2016 issue.

I misspoke in the video about the first guitar. The pickups are MojoTone ‘58 Quiet Coils for Stratocaster.
I've reached a similar situation with my own pedalboard and have been considering the Quartermaster QMX. So finding your video was really great timing. Great tip about using a heat gun on the Velcro.
Ah, fellow gear nerd. I've been through so many approaches and each one seems a betrayal of the last one. I got a gigrig but quickly felt oddly stymied by the options, then moved to two QMX using a smaller one for all effects allowing 8~ dirt/fuzz pedals.
That velcro tear off was so satisfying. Gotta get me a heat gun
Wow - that Peterson tuner 😮 😃😍
Great video.I too was led to the rabbit hole by Dan and Mick. Have about the same size as you and was just considering the QM. P90s sound great. Thanks.
Nice video. Enjoyed the red box editing which illustrated the flip-flop mode well, thanks. I just bought a QuarterMaster 4, waiting on shipping..
Great Board and a nice build!
i started collecting with Keeley years ago. love his stuff
Nice board, wish we heard the zinky though, I love those Amps, I own 3 of them!
Great video man!! Lovely board too, need to get one of those quartermasters!
It's better being a weekend warrior than a weekend worrier
What a great find!! Awesome board and build man!! Quick question, how are you powering the Quartermaster??
Hi there, thanks for the video! I'm about to do a pedal board rebuild(I have a. Kelley katana and quartermaster too) and I was wondering what was the reason you chose to leave the Katana out of the quartermaster, until the end of the chain? I would have thought clean boost is good after the tuner / compressor before the drive section.
Great video. Mick Taylor and Daniel Steinman have a lot to answer for... ;)
are you certain that tuner is not changing tone at all? I know its true bypass but I think you probably should do a comparison with it running thru looper.
How many pedals can we put in this switching system, is it limited to 8 pedals only?
Hi. Great video. Im considering using the qartermaster for a new guitar build. Do you still use it, and will you recommend going in this direction?
Hello guy, great and very interesting video...........just one question:what kind of patch cables do you use????..........Cheerful greetings.
What power supply are you using?
