Hi everyone, Dan here, hope you're awesome.
We released our first pedalboard switching system in April of 2004 and since then have never stopped pushing to get the most out of your pedalboard.
What Is A Loop Switcher?
A Programable Pedalboard Switching System at its heart enables you to turn some effects on and some effects off at the press of a single foot switch.
It mitigates the dreaded pedalboard 'Tap Dance' by enabling you to program combinations effects you want to use for certain sounds. Those pedal combinations are stored as presets, recalled by pressing a footswitch.
So in a practical sense a switching system can save you a bunch of time by having instant access to your pre programmed pedal combinations, but it can also help your tone.
One advantage of a good pedalboard switching system is that it bypasses the effect that isn't being used which helps keep your guitar signal intact.
If you have any questions about any of our pedalboard switching systems or please in touch, we'd love to hear from you- www.thegigrig.com/contact
All the best
Dan

I often find myself wishing each and every guitar player could just try a Quartermaster. It's no exaggeration to say your playing life will be changed. I have some cherished pedals but could easily get along without them before giving up my Quartermaster and TheGigRig power supply. These are honestly my only "can't live without" elements. And while it's hard to be amazed anymore, the support team truly are amazing. Thanks, Dan.

I bought a cheap loop switcher off ebay a few years ago and never looked back. Its nice to switch all pedals in a single button press.

I’ve had my G3 a few years now. I LOVE IT. Not much of a learning curve, sounds very clean, midi works amazingly well, I run in stereo with no hum, crystal clear cleans, and no signal loss. Gig Rigs tech support is very friendly and have helped me out more than a few times on issues I’ve had (user issues, not G3 issues). I love it!

Show the difference it makes in tone! Love the products and believe the difference, but think it makes a really strong argument to show that difference!

Sure thing. It’s obviously different from rig to rig but I can certainly put something together 👍

I've bought a Carl Martin Octaswitch mk 3 as I wanted to buy a Gig Rig G3 but they were out of stock. So for now, I'm using the Carl Martin as a temporary switch and I already love the lack of tap dancing and my tone is definitely way better going into this thing. I have recently bought a Strymon Timeline, Big Sky and Mobius and will be buying an Eventide H90 in a few months so I really can't wait till I can afford a Gig Rig G3 (and they are available again) so I can use it for midi programming as well as switching the audio signals. Its all very exciting! :)

I’m a proud Gigrig QM6 user. I use it for some simple flip flopping but ultimately it’s there to preserve my signal chain. Wouldn’t use anything else.

Hey Dan question: I do not play in a "preset/set list" format but I would still like a loop switcher to save "the tap dance". Is there switchers that just turns on/off individual pedals without having to bank them together?

Hi Gregory, check out our QuarterMaster range, each individual pedal goes in its own loop that you turn on/off via its footswitch. Hope that helps 🙏

You really need to separate the control unit/loops and the switching unit using Bluetooth wireless. You don't want the switching unit on your pedalboard because it takes up a lot of the pedalboard space. The switching unit should be bluetooth wireless and able to place it by the mic stand while your pedalboard has the control unit mounted underneath the pedalboard which can have 50 effects loops. Until then its a waste of pedalboard space tell your EE engineers to do a bluetooth wireless version 2.0

Thanks. This vid is a basic overview of what a switching system does but with G3 you can separate the audio and the control unit so all your pedals can be in a rack off stage. It uses a 7 pin din plug so you don’t need to worry about the floor unit being powered, it’s powered from the EXT kit. Thanks Wayne
