Very useful. Surprising how much the switcher affected tone, and often for the better. Thank you!

I think switchers can help preserve tone (buffers can help with that too) and reduce noise, but the real benefit comes with programmable switchers that make it possible to switch multiple pedals with a single stomp.

Check out the Noise Reaper by Stone Deaf! It’s awesome at the beginning of you chain before you hit the looper. It will greatly help with the noise that you’re getting with your drives! Rabea Massad has a great vid on it (though he’s using two)! Nice video man!!!

And at that point where you blended the drives it all made sense. Stacking pedals gets so noisy but produces such great tone. I need a switcher.

Only just found your channel, I’ve only recently rebuilt my own board around the qmx6 that I had for about 2 years but wasn’t using it as I also have an boss es8 but back in March it started acting up so I ripped the board apart but only put the qmx board together as with no gigs happening there wasn’t much need for a board....! One thing I find very handy with qmx is it gives you access to pedals on the back row of your board without stepping on the ones on the near row also I’ve got a compressor upside down on the underneath of my board with the knobs taped as I don’t need to adjust it and this frees up a space for a pedal on top ! So defo switchers for the win!

Interesting that the tone is a bit brighter w/o the switcher but a bit noisier. Conversely, with the switcher, the signal does appear to be fuller and more responsive - do to it being, perhaps, a somewhat stronger signal. Would be interesting to determine that point, true or not.

Nice one. I've learned a lot! thanks! And, I just noticed something small. The name of the channel is 'that' pedal show. Thought I'd let you know.

Interesting! The way I hear it, the switcher results in more mids and a fuller sound, BUT, unless I'm imagining it, the highs are lessened (not good, IMO). Without the switcher, the highs are noticeably more present. Compare

Hi Sam, great video on the qmx switcher. Noticed that you had a HX Stomp on your board. When using it with a qmx are you able to use the hx effects loop function?

Thanks for this video! I’ve just purchased a QM & I’m just wondering how you hook up a pedal which isn’t in a QM loop & that isn’t at the very beginning or end of the chain? I have a 30ms double tracker which is always on, I have it before my delay which is last in my chain but not sure how to set it up without it being in a loop & therefore will turn off when the neighbouring pedal gets switched off??... I’m new to switchers & I’m not well up on gear so sorry if I’m missing something totally obvious 🙏🏻

Great video! I'm thinking about getting one of these so found your advice very helpful, thanks man! Quick question - which patch leads are you using on this board?

Hi, just a comment - isn't the belle epoch buffered bypass? I wonder if most of the difference you're hearing is actually from taking the buffer out of the signal chain when you use the switcher, as the most noticeable effect of buffers is usually to make things sound brighter and compensate for loss of high end due to cable capacitance... (Rather than the switcher "preserving" your mids and low end). Great vid though, love to see people putting stuff like this to the test.

Definitely a noticeable difference. The tone without the switcher loses a lot of low end, and low mids. Sounds much thinner. Using the switcher, the tone is closer to the the straight into amp sound with no effects. IMO, the switcher is well worth it (to be transparent, I have a Quartermaster). Great vid, thank you for posting.

Dude, this was the exactly the video I was hoping existed. I’m actually considering that exact switcher. What’s holding me back is, and maybe you can help me, if I pass through my volume pedal and wah pedal, or have a boost as the end that is not connected to the switcher, it all still in the chain, is the switcher even worth is at that end? Does the capacitance drop permanently and most notably with just one pedal in the chain but not connected to the switcher?

Hey man, great video! I’m about to get one of these, I have a question though. Can you put more than one pedal in a loop, for example delay and phaser in loop 1, but have one off in case you want to use only one? or if you have 2 in one loop they always will sound together when it’s on? Thanks in advance for the response and great work again with the video 🔥

Thinking of the QMX-6 and I also have the D&M drive. Was it much of a faff to assign each side to the switcher? Is a trs needed for this? Any help would be much appreciated

Hi. Good video, thank you! I’m really new to pedals, so can I ask a (silly) question? With the switcher, I presume I use my normal patch cables to link each pedal to the switcher? Or does the switcher come with its own little connecting cables? And I presume you no longer link pedal to pedal? Thank you in advance....
