I didnt even know there was a speedrunning community around this game and it makes me really happy. This game was so fun as a kid, but it was too complex to introduce and play with others, so Id just play the stories and extra maps over and over

The trick is to do one frontflip/backflip to get maximum height off of your jump followed by 3 side spins in a row before you land. You’ll always get X rank by doing this

@@Sydney_Angelyt Other than some junk, and the ps2 version sucking hard, Heroes is very good. Shadow is OK, but it has some pretty BS objectives that sometimes make it a little annoying

My dude, you are one with the rider gods lol. Congrats on WR, the grind of 15-20 hours of attempts has finally pulled off well. Not gonna lie, I found splash canyons glitch to be the most interesting, especially the way you pulled it off on the third lap, really well done. Not to mention that huge jump on the start babylon garden was sick. Are you planning on going for a perfect run by any chance, Or looking towards babylon story?

I don't know yet, I uploaded this run because I was perfectly happy with the final time, even given that small embarrassing moment in Sand Ruins (where my final time was saved... by end of lap pillar being down twice). The individual level times in this run are so optimized that from now on, to beat this run using all known existing strats (with human play), you will probably realistically require 1 piece of good RNG ranging from: - 20 Ring Capsule at start of Egg Factory (~2s timesave) - 20 Ring Capsule at start of Green Cave (~ 1.4s timesave) - 10/20 Ring Capsule and good ring collection in Sand Ruins (~1.4s timesave) - Sand Ruins pillars being not risen for 1/2 Laps (~2.2/4.4s timesave) You can probably tie this record (or even beat this time by up to 1s!) without any of these using my optimized routes but that will require "perfect-ish" or "insane" level of execution for every stage, as this run has with Metal City, Splash Canyon and Green Cave. (The times I achieved on these stages are Individual Level speedrun tier, getting three of such times in a run can be considered quite an achievement) As for Babylon Story, I've thought of it, I'm still not sure if I'll find the time to but I'll probably do it. The first step would be to practice Night Chase a bit which in my opinion is the most difficult story speedrun stage to get good times in at the moment. Outside of that the Babylon speedrun is much easier than Heroes in general so I'll see in the future ;) Edit: I also suck at Babylon Guardian

there´s a problem with the disc you´re using. it may be dirty or damaged. Can someone help me, my game is crashing when it gets to this part 10:43 screen goes black as I configure it to work.

Have sonic riders on pc but it won't go past sand ruins so I won the sand ruins race in heroes story mode. After I skip the cutscene as usual, my screen just goes black with no sound and I can't do anything. Can you help me?

Surprising lack of boost chaining, but great run!

Uhhh one thing that makes me suspious of this run is how fast the air gadge charged up (especially in jet 2 aka Babylon 1 for true ending route) cause it went from just bout 1/8 to full in under a second it normally takes like 3 to 4 for it to get that far and by then sonic normally dismounts from the recharge portion any idea why it happens that fast?

Due to a programming error, where the game fails to properly check the last held direction in the auto sections, you can just hold both arrows on the keyboard to clear these sections perfectly.

PC version is the fastest because of loading times + the change in the stick-rotate mechanic

i find it very interesting watching sewer burn as much air as he can to keep his speed up because he knows he will get back quicker than he burns it

For Green Cave, is it faster to go the fly-type route to get the 100 rings or is it faster using the non-fly-type route? (Taking a sharp angle on the left ramp)

Do you mean the glitch where you jump and go above/through the invisible wall before the vines? That glitch is faster but wasn't known until last year.

Around 7-8 seconds normally. If lucky with Sand Ruins pillars in run being compared against (like this one), around 5-6 seconds.

On the last stage, why did you choose to grind the rail on lap 2, but not on lap 1 and 3

AWAKEN MY MASTERS... Wait, err, the reason is that taking the corner manually is faster. Problem with not taking it is you don't have enough air for the next lap, but in the case of lap 1 you get 100 ring box and for lap 3, it's the last lap.

I mean if they made this game for PC, they could've just added it to steam.

Can you reply to me? I have an question: When you finish the story mode you unlock all the personages?

He's on PC, you can hold left and right on your keyboard at the same time to get air super duper fast

The ultra shortcut in Splash Canyon really reminds me of MKWii Mushroom Gorge's ultra shortcut, they're very similar

Correct, dash panels give you fixed speed, often slowing you down. The same story is with speed shoes.

You mean the start line? If you drift, boosting will ignore the boost speed cap and give you a bump in speed. All I do is start a drift and boost as I cross the start line. This is useful at particularly level 1. Level 2 it can be useful if you have a long straight, after that it's not beneficial. You can actually also see me do it mid race on some occasions, such as 0:18, where I use the trick to go faster than 200 after a landing.

Alternative title: sonic tails and knuckles abuse drugs to win.

Uh... Yeah, it's called an Any%, it lets the runner do whatever tricks and glitches possible in order to get the best time. Look for the glitchless specific runs if you don't want any glitches.

bruh how else would you expect speedruns to be speedruns, they would all be the same run if there were no glitches involved, plus it kinda cuts a huge amount of time and makes these a lot more interesting than it needs to be. you saying you would rather have all speedruns to be a lot longer and be played the way the game was meant to be played?

Played this lots as a young lad and I thought I was the best, at least out of all my friends.. this is like fine wine 🤌🏽 never thought this game could be played to this extent, thank you!
