Loved this, you asked folks to randomly feel it out and then got them to throw it was great!!!

I throw a reeeeeeeally beat up star tee bird and its incredible. It goes super straight, but still has a reliable (but less dramatic) left finish. Great for flex shots too!

I would throw an Athena just to see how it compares to the glow AB stamp Teebird 3. It would have to do everything the Teebird 3 does but better and I don’t think it will. I will get a production run when they come out.

@@sono3003 I throw an Explorer in that slot instead, but my friend who’s close to 1000 rated loves that specific Teebird3. I’m definitely not 1000 rated (813) but maybe I’ll get one to try out 😂

When the final mold is shaped, and the disc ends up disappointing in terms of distance for it's speed category, they can always down the speed number by 1 and up the glide number by 1, placing it in a lower speed/distance category and making it look better. The Athena is actually an 8 4 0 2. In fact, some reviewers noted how the Athena seems to just hit a wall and suddenly fade (hence the lower glide number that it's deserving of). As for the 8, well, that's just correct nomenclature for an 18mm rim (1.8cm). With the Teebird, on the other hand, they don't need to massage the numbers to make it look better - it actually is, a 7 5 0 2, but gets distance comparable to the 8speed ones.

I found the Evader early in 2022. I had never felt comfortable with a 7 speed before, and now I bag two. I feel like the Athena is more of an answer to the Evader or the Teebird3, than the Teebird.

I'm a Teebird guy I get mine 330-350 range. My buddy who is on team discraft underground team let me try the Athena, and I got the same flight and distance. But here's the problem, I can go get a teebird anywhere for $15. Good luck trying to find an Athena.

I throw a vulture in the t-bird/Athena slot. It’s a faster disc that flies like an 8-9 speed and I love it. . I gave the Athena a run but it was pretty beefy and had very little glide. Sounds like everyone is having difference experiences with this disc.

Doth Savek made a video describing the effects of rim curve on the stability of the disc. As soon as Tim said the Teebird was more concave, I was certain it would be more stable. Love to see a comparison where they are both have the same rim curve as Innova's runs are so wildly varied

I find it hard to believe that using gyro discs would drastically increase scores for pros. There is a level of comfort using the same discs for months breaking it in and knowing exactly how they fly. MVP takes longer than others to break in, and most pros have no familiarity with MVP molds so it would take a long time to get comfortable with the new discs. Also MVP plastic feels like my rubber toy chest growing up

at 5:20 you try to copy paul mcbeths form by doing a walk up forhand roller wind up and then launch a sidearm. Paul only did that because of avery jenkins who has a trash sidearm to begin with. Imagine not being 1000 rated and doing a forehand roller run up for your forhand shots LMAO. Hailey king used to do this until we all told her wtf you doing and now shes very good
