This title reign of Roman is once in a lifetime thing. Nobody can have this type of title reign again in future. Not even Roman himself. After this title reign he doesn't require any titles to establish him as one of the G.O.A.T But I am excited to see Cody's era. I hope he can do atleast half of what Roman did.

It doesn't matter. He bring back prestige to universal title. Before him when Brock was universal champion nobody was thinking universal champion as a heavyweight title. WWE is all about business and they would have stripe off titles from him if they were getting losses in business but that didn't happened Being universal champion only he was best merchandise seller for this entire 2 years time and main evented WrestleMania for 2 consecutive times. So you are wrong. He is getting attraction that means his title reign is well received by peoples. Even I don't like ric flair that doesn't mean he is not a legend, 16 time world champion, 2 time HOF. He is.

Because they made him the only storyline to care about its the only excuse to make it seem like hes the best when he clearly isnt. As for merchandise, right now maybe it sells the most. I remember when Bayley eclipsed john cena merch stuff a while back as the most selling. that doesn't mean she is the only person to write a feud or story about. Its a monopoly infused into 1 person and thats the only reason its working. Hes not a goat and everyone factually knows it

exactly its what he brings to the title, the feeling of being THAT GUY, from his entrance, to his presence and aura to his oromos, romans tribal chief character brought the level of importance to the world titles

Honest answer : No. But what Cody did outside of WWE, makes him so much valuable now and for the future of wrestling. He has the experience, he is the star, he can shape future talents.

Roman’s reign has been incredible for so many reasons: his heel character and his ability to be so good at it (nobody knew how good he would have been as a heel), his trash talking, paul heyman and the rest of the bloodline alongside him, his rivalries and his beautiful matches. Two and a half years of reign and only awesome matches with great storylines like the one with cody and sami. Honestly, there are so many talents and future stars in the wwe and in the nxt too now but nobody can replace Roman. The only ones that can have a similar role in the future of the wwe are Austin Theory if he’s booked well like in the past months and maybe Gunther too. Cody, Seth, Sami, KO and all the others are great but I don’t think they will be able to carry the company like Tribal Chief Roman did in the past two and half years

Roman has legitimately grown into a hall of famer. He went from being forced into that spot to naturally growing into that spot. Granted they did it backwards and there are still some sour grapes from the few that continue to hate him, but legend is set. Time will tell if Cody is headed in that direction, but it's looking good so far.

@@biancaenera2500 thats not tradition. If it was then the champion would fight only 1 or 2 times a year. I cant speak on Ric Flair's reign as i wasnt alive then. I was alive for Hogan's though, and even a guy as up there as him held the belt hostage to where fans just didnt care no more. Thats why Goldberg winning was so special. But NOBODY cares now because Cody should've already done it. So when he wins (possibly) next year, it wont feel special, its gonna feel like "about time"

I can definitely see more Free Agents be more eager to sign with WWE if Cody wins. You’ll have these free agents that’ll think “Well hey, Cody started AEW yet he’s there in WWE getting a good run, a good push.” No more fear of being dusted away in the lower midcard or jobber status after a few months. They’ll see that WWE can offer more money, a more popular stage and **potentially** great booking. “Bidding” wars will become a standard, WWE and AEW trying to one up each other, signing free agents, booking better storylines etc. Competition breeds greatness and at the end of the day, the Fans will get a better product and Wrestlers get more money getting to do the thing they love. We all win.

Short Answer NO 😂. I'm sorry but NOBODY else on the roster besides Lesnar can do what Reigns does. He's been the biggest thing in wrestling for 3 years straight, he's the face of pro wrestling and the only guy in the company BESIDES Lesnar with mainstream media appeal👍. Whenever he walks out it's a big deal, His matches mean something and the people he works with get elevated even in a loss .

Wrestling deserves a champion who shows up and who's ready to wrestle on a random raw or smack down episode not just on PLEs not a guy who needs Paul Heyman around him to make himself look relevant

Without Reign’s backstage pull the USO’s characters would’ve still been 3dimensional and we still wouldn’t be able to tell them apart, he gave Solo exposure on the main roster and made Sami relevant again, since people didn’t give af about him and Knoxville years ago

@@penadanielj no In kayfabe you need a character first and really no one has a character like Roman’s character and the bloodline as a whole. People are already questioning other than Brock there is no one that is in Roman’s level which is why people are hoping wwe builds to someone quickly.

I think the successor to Roman could be Solo

Can Cody carry the industry like Roman is doing, give him a few months and he will be a boring champion. Hulk Bruno and now Roman can only carry the industry like that. I hope Roman wins at Mania and continues his title reign but at the same time he does need a huge break!!

I think Cody will win but it will be the start of wrestlers holding the title for 2 - 3 months at a time. We won't see this ever again unless Reigns gets the belts again at sumerslam.

Can Cody carry the WWE like Roman Reigns. Yes, if done correctly. But in my opinion you have to have all the right pieces in play. You have to have legitimate heels for him to overcome and you have to keep his story compelling. You aren't going to find another Roman Reigns. But, you can build on the potential of what Cody is right now which is the next generation biggest baby face of sports entertainment/ pro wrestling. Cody is the face of the new Era of talent. That much is blatantly obvious. WWE has a responsibility to provide the arch with viable talent to keep that roster fresh and unpredictable. One thing they really need to concentrate on his how they manage these dark matched and the demand on these wrestlers taking so much punishment. You have to preserve and protect your top talent so there won't be any issues like a Bray Wyatt not being able to perform on the biggest stage in Wrestling. They have to do better keeping their guys healthy.

This narrative is dumb because people asking could cody be the next roman. Like roman was able to live up to what cena has done and he hasn't even come close. He could't light a candle to cena if he tried and I don't wanna hear the whole "oh cena said himself he's the goat" He also said the same thing about brock lesnar. Cody is going to be the first cody not the "NEXT" anyone just like roman is the first roman and not the "NEXT" cena

They need to transition to Solo. But for Solo to be the guy they need to do it on a Julius Caesar manner. They all turn their back on Roman and Solo and his brothers is the new faction while Roman is away.

Exactly! Haven't kept up much on wrestling since back in the '90s and early 2000's. But when I would flip through, I couldn't believe the push to make Roman Reigns into the greatest ever. I don't see it............

I really like Cody rhodes but i Just dont see him as the face of wwe. He can be a great midcard champion ( us champion or intercontinental champ) Roman reigns tick all the boxes. Austin theory can be THE GUY in the future. ( amazing physique, good in ring performer and he is not bad at the mic) . GUNTHER as the heel

After Roman loses the titles, Rhodes at the most, can either hold the title until Summerslam or the end of this year. Not that the 2 and a half year reign ever got stale with Roman Reigns, it's just we can't have another reign that lasts even a year for quite a while.

If Cody wins the championship, it'll be awesome for a lot of other wrestlers on the roster since with him a lot of them can have programs unlike Roman. Like a guy like Chad Gable might have a match with Cody for the championship on a random raw episode which would never happen with Roman. The roster has so many talents they just need a fighting champion to have programs with. Personally I'm not a fan of long championship reigns anyway. One reason I loved that period on Smack down with Edge, Batista and the Undertaker who all became champion from time to time.

I have been following him since 2012 even supported him against undertaker cena and other legends you just don't know about him.Not matter what he do or what gimmick he is in he always grab the audience and receive a reaction either in boos or in cheers and bcz of him wwe gross profit reached uptox1 billion dollars in 2021 and and 1.25 billions dollars in 2022 bcz of roman.Just for your every segment he does get more views than and others wrestlers on the locker room and he got more following on the global platform he is even more popular than cena in the asian countries, he draws more and this reason why vince chooses him over others as face of the company
