Jeez. 96 to 04. Thas 8 years. Why does it feel like he was in the wrestling business for much longer than that? I guess he was just that good! Rock left such a long lasting impression on the business and on fans (like myself). It’s hard to talk about the Hollywood him without WWE being in the convo.

I was just saying that, he was only in wwf/e for 7-8 years. And yet he’s one of the most memorable superstars ever. Most of my favorite moments from that time involve the rock. Crazy what an impact he’s made in such a short time

He did more than 8 years. He did 8 years then went into acting. Had appearances up till 2007. He came back 2011-2019 on and off while also doing movies

Cena explain it before, they can't afford to have an actor especially one with Rock's star power to be injured, if he gets injured they got to recast or delay production which cost money and Hollywood has a negative stigma of not taking wrestlers serious.Acting has to be a full time gig and commitment all of which make it impossible for Rock to divide his time.And he peaked quickly in the business that he would stale just like Cena was, by making these special guest appearances it guarantees a 6 figure paycheck while feeding the nostalgia

“2 reasons not in order of importance” “Number 1, my contract expired, and number 2, which is the most important thing..... etc“ lol wait what..

The same people that moan that he left too soon are the same people who moan when wrestlers stay long after they have gone stale.

Exactly Paul, when John Cena was around for 15 years the fans were whining and bitching and complaining about him being the face of the WWE for too long and kept begging and pleading for The Rock to return to take his place. Yet when he was around most of the time the fans booed him out of the building with ROCKY SUCKS chants, yes Rock eventually won the fans over but as soon as he went Hollywood they went right back to booing him again. These ungrateful bitch ass fans don't deserve to be entertained by these people. They spend all that time away from their families just to get booed and told that they suck ? No wonder The Rock got the hell away from wrestling, I would've done the same thing. I'd much rather spend time with people who care about me, not a bunch of idiots who don't appreciate you when you're around and only miss you when you're gone.

@@jerelminter 100% Agreed. I love John Cena and hate that his time as “the guy” is over but I’m glad he is doing something else and not having to deal with this toxic fandom. And also they do it to everyone that is on top: Rock, Cena, Reigns, Becky Lynch, Seth Rollins the list goes on and on.

All around great human being. I remember watching a match between The Rock and Goldberg where The Rock gets tossed over the ring and smashes the side of his head on the ring on his way to the floor. You can see in Rocks eyes that he was almost KO'd and had no idea where he was. As a former amateur HW boxer and HS football coach i've seen that look before. Dude just takes a minute to gather himself and returns to the show. The Rock would have likely been great in a boxing ring or anywhere else.

I'm sorry but The Rock doesn't have to come back to the WWE because you want him to. He said in the video his contract ran out after he had his last match, therefore he no longer has any obligation to come back to wrestling unless he signs a new contract to do so. If The Rock doesn't want to come back to wrestling, then that's his decision to make, not yours.
