  • @Bancheis

    @Bancheis

The message is true, but the source was a bit different. From 2 Thessalonians 3:10 in the Bible. For even when we were with you, we gave you this rule: "If a man will not work, he shall not eat." We hear that some among you are idle. They are not busy; they are busybodies. Such people we command and urge in the Lord Jesus Christ to settle down and earn the bread they eat. Now I have to clarify I am not a religious person, and I don't hang on every word of the Bible as others do... but this is a lesson I strongly believe in. You cannot count on others to take care of you forever. Once you are an adult, you need to care for yourselves. Obviously, there are people in the world who cannot care for themselves, and we should help them for sure... But the average lazy person just wanting to waste away while getting drunk and high in someone else's home, doing the bare minimum to survive, then complaining when they have nothing saved up for emergencies, those are the ones who really should take this to heart. And I do not believe that a nation or any other person should be responsible for feeding these people if they refuse to do their fair share of labor.

What sucks for those of us who have listened to people like Paul Harvey and William Cooper we knew what was going on and what was coming and you literally cannot tell the 99% they look at you like you're a tin foil hat wearing conspiracy theorist. Unlike van you can't get them to go listen to people like Harvey and Cooper and they have absolutely no critical thinking most likely they destroyed that with fluoride look into fluoride van it is the slag that is produced when they process aluminum and they sold it to the American public as a tooth decay preventative holy s*** people are ignorant they just believe what they see on the (tell lie vision) that 9 out of 10 dentist recommend it so not only did they use toothpaste with fluoride in it but they would go themselves and take their children to have their teeth coated in fluoride I imagine those are some of the dumbest because they got way more fluoride than those who didn't

@@Bancheis Several times I have encountered young men sitting on the ground - in their bed - asking for hand outs. I was working on all occasions. I had been up for HOURS, busy adding value for someone who trusted me to perform a task - one occasion entailed carrying cash to purchase a vehicle and deliver it. I've been flat broke and stone out of luck many times and clawed my way out by sweat and determination. Life IS activity. That's why I'd never employ a smoker!

Van, let me tell you a story of a poor white angel. She and her husband had 10 children. Her first was born at home and weighed 11lbs. Her pain reliever was corncob wine. They were so poor, one Christmas, all they could afford for all 8 girls was a single baby doll. She sewed clothes made from flour sacks and cloth scraps for the children. There were cracks so wide in the wood boards of the floor that they could see the chickens running under the house. Her husband became so overwhelmed, he turned to alcohol. He got drunk one night and gambled away their only cow in a time when there was still an infant to feed. Through the years her evenings were spent on the porch reading the bible until all of her children were home safe and in bed. She helped build there little primitive Baptist church and it's outhouse. There was no piano, no air conditioning, no indoor plumbing. Their community couldn't afford them. The great depression hit them so hard, she went to her closet, hit her knees, and begged God for a way to feed her children. The next morning, there was a huge wood crate on the porch with rice, flour, lard, potatoes, and other staples and groceries of the time. Even at the time of her death, she never knew who left it but knew it was from the hand of God. Before she died, she had read the Bible front to back and studied it in depth...and she lived by it. She lived by the commandments. She never said a single cuss word. She never faltered from her devotion to her family, no matter the hardships. Her husband, after realizing what his foolishness had cost his family, gave his life to God and never drank another drop. They still had very little through more than 70 years of marriage, but they were blessed. That angel was my grandmother. We didn't grow up well off but we never went through anything like that. Her stories were passed down, many I heard her tell, so we would not forget and take things for granted. We still struggle but we are still blessed. We understand wealth doesn't come from how much we have in money or property. It comes from the life you build for those you love most, regardless of fortune gained or not. If we ever did have money that allowed us to live better, I don't want anything grand or outrageously expensive. I love my simple life. I want to be able to give my family what they need and some things nicer they want within reason. I want to be able to build them something to help them in their own lives and just keep living my simple existence in peace. These are the blessings inherited from that angel. There are many here in central Georgia with similar stories of hardships...and they came in many colors.

Paul Harvey was a masterful storyteller. He could paint a picture on radio like nobody else in the history of radio. I worked at an ABC affiliate that aired Paul Harvey 3 times per day, 6 days per week until his death. Even as on-airstaff, ourselves, we clung to every word he spoke on the air because he truly believed what he said. And, if he didn't believe it, he didn't speak about it.

I'm a 68 year old Veteran, Patriot, Christian..I use to listen to Paul Harvey on the radio weekly....One of the best ever talk show hosts...He was prophetic on so many issues...What Paul Harvey was describing, was the willingness for the people to surrender their liberty and their freedom, for "free stuff" and falsely perceived security...This is exactly what Benjamin Franklin warned of, and what we're witnessing today...The dumbing down of the people, coupled with the neutering of men and emasculation of women along with the theft of our money, is exactly what's happening today...Remember...Paul was depicting the erosion of our society then and more applicable, in the foreseeable future...Over the past 50 years, we have drifted so far from God and our founding principles on so many fronts, that our demise is eerily creeping closer...

One of the Best days as an American was 9-12 ...the day after 9-11...we all stood as One country...One people...One race( the human race)... People stood together to cry...to mourn...to be joyous when when another life was saved( people we never knew)....to reach inside our homes, our wallets and give to our fellow man without the thought of anything in return. It took something absolutely horrible to bring us all together as a Nation. That is the sad part.

Your epiphany of the poor white people hit me. Thank you for acknowledging this. So I’ll tell a little about me and my story. I’m 42 & a white male and from WV, never graduated because I needed to go out and work and I grew up poor by all means of the definition, except the dirt floor home and running indoor water. By the grace of God I met my wife when I was 19 and she’s from Delaware and from a middle class family. I didn’t know how to act or think. I moved to Delaware and have been here and married for 20+ years now and actually have a state job and have made something of myself. I’ve tried for years to get my family to move here and start over but they won’t and they feel I’ve become to good for them and treat me and mine differently. I don’t feel like I’ve changed personally but fundamentally I have a different way of living than I used to. I’m still the same old me but with the means to survive. I wish liberals would stop pushing the white privilege notion and see that we are all the same. You become a product of your surroundings. I’ve never been handed anything, I’ve always worked my ass off to get to where I’m at. I thank God for the life lessons I’ve learned and able to pass on to our kids and they’re better adults because of that. Keep up the great work brother. Much love.

It does happen that people are born here and understand how fortune shown upon us by allowing our soul to be in this country. I would do it all again because I learned in the military that there is only one color, green, from light green to dark green and everything in between. I also learned growing up in low income doesn't mean you have to go out the same way. Education and more importantly hard work, tied to the ability to resist living above your means will allow you to give your kids a head start, even if you started behind. Thanks for the Paul Harvey share, heard him everyday in Georgia, stories always were a wow moment. Take care and do well.

Paul Harvey was an on air presence most of my life so far. He went off air in 2009 with two years left on a 10 year contract he signed in 2001. He died that year is the on,y reason the contract wasn’t fulfilled but you can bet on it, he would have finished that contract come hell or high water. He was 90 years old when he passed. I was born in 69’ and listened to him so many times that it was just part of everyday life. He was there just like sunshine or rain every single day. I guess I just as a lot of people did come to take it for granted. We need more men like Paul now more than ever. He was brilliant, and his wisdom seemed to come from further back than his own life, almost ancient. I miss his voice on the radio, his stories, his humor, his personality. He was as true a man as you’d ever know. I remember hearing this on the radio years ago, I couldn’t tell what year or what station I was listening to but I remember it. I remember settin quietly as I could for the length of it and imagining it really happening. I thought come on Paul, Americans are far to proud to let our country fall to that extent, it will never happen. The whole time in the back of my mind thinking as scary as it sounded it was possible. He was a good man, trustworthy and hard working. If Paul was tellin it you could bank on it. If he made a mistake he was the first to say it. I know a lot of the younger people out there, the millennials especially ( the ones that haven’t succumb to the vaccines.we lost like 60,000 in the last year or so) could have benefitted from Paul’s wisdom. Sad that he’s gone but glad I knew him though he didn’t know me. Thanks for playin this man. Brings back memories of better times and thoughts of what is coming if we let it. It’s never too late to turn the tides though. If we solidify, black, white,Hispanic, Asian, whatever or whoever, we can stop this downhill run to communism. They call it socialism but in reality socialism is a sugar coated word they use to lure you onto a bus with a free ticket to communism which is a good bit different than socialism. Race, creed, color, religion, set all of that aside and we are all Americans. It’s not perfect, it’s no utopia, it’s rough in places, it’s capitalism which isn’t always fair, we bicker and argue and call each other out, but it’s our home, it’s a democracy and it’s the greatest country in the world, I know because I’ve been to other countries, trust me. In my opinion it’s worth fighting for. It’s something we owe to the generations before us who fought and died for it and the generations to come who will fight and die for it as we may have to do. Try to imagine growing up without proms and school dances, watching football on Sunday, cookouts in the back yard with family and friends, deciding on a whim to take a few days off and head to the mountains or the beach just because, to be sittin at home and jump up and say you know what, I’m gonna run to the store and grab a 6 pack and couple of big ass steaks and we’re gonna grill supper tonight baby. That stuff will be gone folks. Not at first but it will fade out along with all our freedoms it will be gone. Think about it. Hold fast people. Stand together.

I grew up listening to Paul Harvey on KGO radio with my father. The man was well spoken, often weaving tales of history and connecting them to modern times. His voice truly is a snapshot in history. Something in which we might overlook at the time, but bears great meaning. A reason why I have learned that we should take the time to listen to the musings of our elders, for within their words, we might learn a thing or two to help us along our way.

Paul Harvey was AWESOME. I used to listen to him on the radio whenever I went to see my grandparents out in the midwest. He tells a lot of stories where he doesn't tell you who the main character is, just what they did, and then comes the reveal, and then he tells you the consequence, ending with the famous tagline, "And now you know the rest of the story."

Don't look into it, just a little. Look into it deep. Mr. Harvey was an extraordinary man. I had the privilege of playing his programs on my radio show for years. I wish I had kept them. He was a very insightful man. I had the privilege of meeting him and driving him to a breakfast that my radio station was hosting in the city where I lived at the time. He was very cordial very personable. He taught me of a voice exercise for clearing your throat if you work early in the morning. he also gave me a recipe for gargling with apple cider vinegar before you go on the air and I did it forever and still do it now and I'm 80 years old. You might also want to check into some of the other people of those times there were other commentators that mentioned many things that should've been heated but wasn't it's a shame. Everybody including our culture tried to tell the population in the 70s what was going on but they couldn't get their mind off of Bolis girls, and long haired man.good luck with your work. Keep it up.

Van, I lived part of my life in Germany as a military dependent and I listened to Paul Harvey and his “rest of the story” on AFN (Armed Forces Network). Even as an 11 (early 80s) year old at the time, I found his stories profound and simply stated, excellent. I look forward to watching you delve into his stories. He is one of the greatest story tellers I have ever heard. It is amazing how much of what he said in the past still holds true and is relevant today. God bless you!

I'm 54. We were shown this in school in the 70's and 80's. Plus my grandparents lived through the Depression. My grandfathers and uncles fought in WWII. We were told about this at home too. I'm so grateful for you watching and sharing this. I worry those whose grandparents didn't struggle won't understand what it took to survive. A love of God and a love of country and a love of family and a willingness to work as hard as possible to make a better life for their descendants. My grandaddy worked for the Army Corp of Engineers and was away all the time. My Granny worked in an office and also sold encyclopedias. She never wanted her family to struggle. She had a friend lie for her so she could get an ID to start working as a young teen to help support her family. She also helped anyone that needed it. It's hard to find women like her now, but I strive everyday to make her proud. That's something that seems lost today - wanting to honor our families and not bring shame to them, but be the best person we can.

Amen to that I'm 69 and learned about american history in school (the public school I went to actually had Bible reading at nap time for youngest students) and at home from family that experienced the Depression and WW2. From sixth grade on my parents sent me to Catholic school and they believed in work to achieve your dreams. We were working class, and expected to work for our and our counties success. No one burned a flag EVER till I was in College, socialism became the important catchphrase, not for me but many talked about it being better than capitalism because the government gave you everything, they left out out that your freedom and God given will was the price.

Republicans only became the religious right when Democrats started attacking religion. Harvey had a delivery that made you feel like he was talking to you and that he was being truthful, and in a way he was. But he also was quite dishonest in that much of his material in the 1960's was reviewed and written by J Edgar Hoover, at the height of Hoover's use of illegal programs to subvert civil rights leaders and civil rights movements. Other untruths was his naming of false names to Joseph McCarthy during the Red Scare. NOt to mention his fabrication in 1951 of a story of how he ended up in a restricted area of an army base, for which an IL grand jury considered to charge him with espionage.

I’m sure am glad I don’t make a living through politics or being a voice of the public. I don’t have the strong stomach or short memory to become a politician. Turbulent times indeed, but the more you learn about history, civilization is always in a balance. It’s remarkable how many presidents and attorney generals J Edgar served under without ever being questioned, but not so hard to understand. Might have something to do with useful information or we might both prefer to call damming evidence over anyone who could oppose him in mainstream. Fast forward to now and we have our Epstein era. Let’s hope checks and balances becomes an equally agreed on political philosophy by all parties and not each parties own take on it. Thank you for taking the time to post and discuss. Take care✌🏻

@@APG2112 Thanks for the thoughtful reply. The main reason that Hoover lasted through so many administrations is that he used his FBI resources to collect dark info on those in power, and he held it over them. That's very well documented. Another reason is that he managed to keep much of his activities covert at the time, and he coopted people like Harvey who helped to continually polish his image.
