An Open Letter From God - Paul Harvey

Ойын-сауық

My Dear Children (and believe me, that’s all of you),
I consider myself a pretty patient guy. I mean, look at the Grand Canyon. It took millions of years to get it right. And about evolution? Boy, nothing is slower than designing that whole Darwinian thing to take place, cell by cell, gene by gene. And I have been patient through your fashions, civilizations, wars and schemes, and the countless ways you take me for granted until you get yourselves into big trouble again and again. I want to let you know about some of the things that are starting to tick me off.
First of all, your religious rivalries are driving me up a wall. Enough already! Let’s get one thing straight. These are YOUR religions, not mine. I’m the whole enchilada; I’m beyond them all. Every one of your religions claims there’s only one of me (which by the way, is absolutely true). But in the very next breath, each religion claims it’s my favorite one. And each claims its bible was written personally by me, and that all the other bible’s are man-made. Oh, Me.
How do I even begin to put a stop to such complicated nonsense? Okay, listen up now. I’m your Father AND Mother, and I don’t play favorites among my children. Also, I hate to break it to you, but I don’t write. My longhand is awful, and I’ve always been more of a “doer” anyway. So ALL of your books, including those bibles, were written by men and women. There were inspired men and women. They were remarkable people, but they also made mistakes here and there. I made sure of that, so that you would never trust a written word more than your own living heart.
You see, one human being to me - even a bum on the street - is worth more than all the Holy Books in the world. That’s just the kind of guy I am. My spirit is not an historical thing, it’s alive right here, right now, as fresh as your next breath.
Holy books and religious rites are sacred and powerful, but not more so than the least of you. They were only meant to steer you in the right direction, not to keep you arguing with each other, and certainly not to keep you from trusting your own personal connection with me.
Which brings me to my next point about your nonsense. You act like I need you and your religions to stick up for me or “win souls” for my sake. Please, don’t do me any favors. I can stand quite well on my own, thank you. I don’t need you to defend me, and I don’t need constant credit. I just want you to be good to each other.
I don’t need you to defend me, and I don’t need constant credit. I just want you to be good to each other.
And another thing: I don’t get all worked up over money or politics, so stop dragging my name into your dramas. For example, I swear to Me that I never threatened Oral Roberts. I never rode in any of Rajneesh’s Rolls Royces. I never told Pat Robertson to run for president, and I’ve never ever had a conversation with Jim Bakker, Jerry Falwell, or Jimmy Swaggart! Of course, come Judgement Day, I certainly intend to…
Now the thing is, I want you to stop thinking of religion as some sort of loyalty pledge to me. The true purpose of your religions is so that YOU can become more aware of ME, not the other way around. Believe me, I know you already. I know what’s in each of your hearts, and I love you anyway with no strings attached. Lighten up and enjoy me. That’s what religion is best for.
What you seem to forget is how mysterious I am. You look at the petty differences in your Scriptures and say, “Well, if this is the truth, then that can’t be!” But instead of trying to figure out my paradoxes and unfathomable nature - which by the way, you never will - why not open your hearts to the simple common threads in every religion?
You know what I’m talking about: Love and respect everyone. Be kind. Even when life is scary or confusing, take courage and be of good cheer, for I am always with you. Learn how to be quiet, so you can hear my still, small voice (I don’t like to shout). Leave the world a better place by living your life with dignity and gracefulness, for you are my own child. Hold back nothing from life, for the parts of you that can die surely will, and the parts that can’t, won’t. So don’t worry, be happy (I stole that last line from Bobby McFerrin, but who do you think gave it to him in the first place?)
You can call me and my special ones any name you choose, if only you would go about my business of loving one another as I love you. How can you keep neglecting something so simple?
Simple stuff. Why do you keep making it so complicated? It’s like you’re always looking for an excuse to be upset. And I’m very tired of being your main excuse. Do you think I care whether you call me Yahweh, Jehovah, Allah, Wakantonka, Brahma, Father, Mother or even the Void of Nirvana? Do you think I care which of my special children you feel closest to - Jesus, Mary, Buddha, Krishna, Mohammed or any of the others?

Paul Harvey was a hated man. He had death threats all the time. The government tried to shut him down. He wasn't afraid the evil that didn't want to hear the truth. The battle rages on. God's word is true, don't back down God is with us❤❤❤

I've studied Mr. Harvey's life and career at depth over the last couple of years and have never heard that he was a hated man. I've never heard that he had death threats. It could have been the case though. I need to research that aspect more. :)

@@Mr-ms2qo The Bible tells us God exists as 3 separate beings. God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is who came to be with mankind to teach us about God after Jesus was killed on the cross and resurrected. The Holy Spirit is “The Word of God” who was from the beginning and now lives among us to teach us about himself. This is also why we call the Bible, the “Word of God.” If you’re willing to listen, he will speak to you as well. “Be still and know that I am God.” - Psalms 46:10.

@@JT.common_sense I think the most applicable verse is John 14:6 I am the way, the truth, & the life. No one comes to the FATHER except through ME. JESUS is the only way to Heaven [the FATHER], all the other religions do not lead to Heaven but the Broadway to Hell. That is the offense of the Cross of CHRIST. Paul Harvey is wrong in lumping Allah & all the other religions as the same way.. JESUS' peace HE offers is forgiveness of sins & a rebirth to be spiritually alive to desire to please GOD again. Not something we can do without HIM as our KING & constant SAVIOUR, because as we are we're #selfish which is the cause of our quarrels per James 4:1-3: Why do you quarrel & fight? It is because your feelings are fighting inside of you. You want something but you cannot get.

Exactly, this universalist and ecumenical speech does not come from God, it is corrupted by demonic doctrines, satanic concept and new world order, the system of the beast! The name of God is sacred and important, and yes we have to be careful about how we pay reverence to God, not in any kinde of way and as we see fit. John 14:6- ” Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me."

Absolutely precious! But I do believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God. Remember what Jesus said, "The Greatest Commandment is To Love God with all your heart, body, mind, and soul." And the second as important as the first, "Love your neighbor as yourself." And that's the most important of them all! God Bless you and your family Brad. Thanks for everything you do!

@@BradDison This is not Biblical, if you are not a Christian - a disciple of Jesus Christ, I understand your ignorance, but if you declare yourself a Christian, repent of having created a concept that does not come from God. It is correct that the great commandment is “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strenght.’ This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’- Matthew 22:37-39. However, this concept of “love” that you are spreading is false and ecumenical. Scripture instructs us to love one another, but that does not mean that everything is acceptable and should be compromise. 1 John‬ ‭2:15-17‬ ”Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world-the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life-is not of the Father but is of the world. And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever.” James 4:4 “Adulterers and adulteresses! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Whoever therefore wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God.”

This is an amazing piece. I remember listening to Paul Harvey since I was a kid in 60's and 70's. Even if I didn't completely agree with him I always found him to be a serious an independent thinker. I consider myself to be a person of but when I listen to this it does help remind me that all of our different religions are cubicles that we too often don't look over the dividers of. He also had a wonderful piece called God made a Dictator. The first 95% of that he talks about God making a dictator. At the very end, he says that God made that dictator to challenge us, to test our senses of decency. If ever we needed these inspirational words from Paul harvey, we need these words now more than ever!

I disagree, I felt I learned from another persons perspective. I could challenge the Bible was written by intellectualists. If you study humans throughout history, and the migration patterns of humans, humans have been here a lot longer than the Bible. And they snuffed out paganism which actually ties into Christianity so much. But you don’t know unless you grant yourself your humanitarian right to challenge your own beliefs.

I remember listening to him on the radio when I was a kid. In the 80s we only had regular AM/FM radio, so you had no choice but to listen to commercials, and listen to the stuff your parents/grandparents/aunts or uncles would be listening to for the most part. We weren’t allowed to change the station in the car, or the kitchen, or the family room etc. I remember Paul Harvey used to come on everyday at noon, to tell “the rest of the story”… even at a young age I found his stories very interesting and thought provoking. He was truly a national treasure ❤

It's interesting to know that the way we believe is passed on to the next generation as it was between us and our parents, them and their parents, and back through the generations. If we break that link and fail to pass it on to the next generation, it could take generations to right itself. :)

I disagree on one point. The only thing that matters is that you believe in your heart that Jesus Christ died on the cross to pay for your sins. Past, present and future. If you believe that and you declare that Jesus Christ is Lord, you are saved and will enjoy eternity in heaven
