Unfortunately, when I saw There Will be Blood for the fist time, and I really didn't know anything about it at all, what I've notice emediately that Paul Dano was outclassed in every sense. I was annoyed by him, not as a character but as a screen presence. It looked off, I was wondering "why this guy", but over time I grew to like him and precisely because he is so off, his character fits that particular idea of a fake clergymen. It is that striking difference that reflects the hard core capitalism and hard core perversion of religion. It is very "meta" in that sense. Where I think Paul shined is the Looper for some reason. He is definitely memorable actor and now I actually want to see him more on screen because he is quirky and original, I think. I am not blown away with his performance like I was with Daniel Day Lewis, that was incomparable to anything else in cinema, but Paul adds something, its like a dish that has that one spice, it doesn't make the dish but without it it would be very different overall impression.

Little Miss Sunshine is inarguably one of the best films ever made; and he helped make that character so outstanding. Bravo, Paul Dano. Wishing him nothing but continued success.
Wow. I'm completely charmed by Paul Dano.
Prisoners is one of the hardest to watch movies I’ve ever seen but his performance was amazing. I also loved him in Swiss Army Man even though I’m not sure I got it lol. Very strange movie.
Prisoners is such an underrated Film, his role alongside Hugh and Jake with that writing makes it an incredible film
he seems very sure of himself and his capabilities as an actor. i've never watched him in a role where i felt it was too big or too small for him - it's like he brings all of himself up because he's confident he made the right choice with selecting the characters he plays. i hope his career is this colourful for a long time!
I had no idea Paul was writing that comic. It's really good so far.
Pretty clear when we was talking about There Will be Blood that they were all on an entirely different level and he did a great job talking honestly about his experience
I wish he'd talked about his Pierre in War and Peace because he was so marvelous in that role. Pierre is the heart of that mammoth epic story, and Paul brought such depth of feeling to his portrayal of the character. Wonderful actor!

His commitment to his craft is truly inspirational.
Escape at Dannemora was brilliant. He was fabulous! Glad they included it in this video.
I'm so glad that he mentioned the way that Daniel Day Lewis delivered the "I'm finished!" line at the end of There Will Be Blood. I've always wondered if it was written on the page the way that he says it. Because he delivers the line like he's saying that he's finished with his dinner and calling to his butler to come clear the tray. It's so specific and unusual. I'm guessing that on the page it was supposed to be him kind of muttering to himself or talking to the corpse. My god, what a brilliant film.

If I remember properly, at the beginning of the film when Daniel's character gets hurt (breaks his leg?), he does say out loud something like "not now, I'm not done". I always thought the "I'm finished!" was a reference to that. He's got his riches, he's found his oil and now he's got rid of the one obstacle in his way.
One of the best and most underrated and underutilized actors in Hollywood. I love the stuff he’s been in, but I feel like he could play many more major roles better than most other actors.
Dude has a legit unbelievable catalogue
First saw Paul when the batman came out. I have now watched 5 of his films and two more on dvd on the way. He is so polite and funny and just makes me so happy. Thank you for being you Paul!
He was so convincing as the character he played in There Will Be Blood.

Incredible actor. I'm happy that his career is so versatile. One day he'll receive a well deserved Oscar.
Paul is a real humble dude. Seems like a genuine and sincere guy.
Sad that he neglected to mention his role of 'Klitz' in The Girl Next Door. He was great in that very underrated film, and it was the role that brought him to the attention of a lot of people.

i didnt like him in it, neither did Tarantino, but if he was cast last minute, it did Dano no favors, and taking that into consideration, he handled it well. Starring opposite DDL in his prime must have been daunting.

It’s sort of a crime his performance in WAR & PEACE as Pierre is not included here, it’s so gob-smackingly perfect.
His role in love & mercy was so precious & complex in nature. Made me love The Beach Boys and their overall story even more.
Favorite character of his is Klitz in The Girl Next Door with Emile Hirsh
Thank you Paul, thank you for all of your performances and everything that goes into bringing them to us.

Possibly the best actor of his generation. It's not mentioned but I loved his brilliant portrayal of Pierre Bezukov in the BBC adaptation of War and Peace. He embodied the sensitivity and the complexity of Tolstoy's character.
For such a young actor he has a lot of tough, interesting and big roles under his belt.

Paul Dano is terminally delightful! I love how much passion he has for what he does. It’s not just someone who’s doing it for the possible fame and fortune. In every role I’ve seen him in it always feels like he’s having a blast and living his dreams.
