Oh, goodness. Two voices that just melt me… and then together. Double melting. I love this song.

This was my Mum's absolute favorite. When it came on the radio at home EVERYTHING stopped.............. she adored it. When she died in 2018 we played it at her funeral. A wonderful track.

They literally recorded this song just nearly as this video suggested. McDonald was in Los Angeles, and Labelle in New York. Thematically and musically it works.

I remember this song was groundbreaking in that neither artist met in a studio to record. They both did their parts separately, then edited them together and that was new technology.

This song was Patti Labelle's biggest r&b crossover hit ever!!! It went to #1 on three different Billboard charts. The Hot 100, the Soul and the AC charts in the late spring of 1986. I love this song a whole lot!!!

I remember loving this song at 8 years old and loving Crystal Gayle's hair. Another duet I love is "Tonight I Celebrate My Love For You" by Roberta Flack and Peabo Bryson. Both wonderful duets that I loved as a young girl and still love today.

I’ve always loved this , and also “ The First Time I Made Love “ with Jeffrey Osborne and Joyce Kennedy, and of course “ Endless Love” with Lionel Ritchie and Diana Ross, the latter wish I don’t think there is an official music video. And then there’s “ Take Good Care Of My Heart” with Whitney Houston and Jermaine Jackson. All of these and more duets were the best of the 80’s and I play them all the time!

One of my top favorite songs ever!

This Music video was really difficult for Miss Patti to do, because she just came back from her sister's funeral when she did this music video...those are real tears in the music video. All three of her sisters died of cancer in a span of one decade and the last of the sister's just died and she just buried her, and right after leaving the funeral, she went straight to her music video shoot, in complete devastation and grief...she had to pull it together to make this video. This song really tells you how she feels...the Part when she says ( On My Own) that was so true at the time, she lost both her parents and all three sisters...and she had to take care of her nieces and nephews and help raise them...so she was on her own the only survivor of her whole family. Miss Patti Labelle is a true Legend and icon. One of the world's greatest voices ever. So this was a very personal song for Miss Patti Labelle.

Patti Labelle has another couple of songs that I think you would quite enjoy making reaction videos for. The funny thing is that both recommendations were used in films. The first is from the 2006 Miami Vice film, where Patti worked with Moby and the song is "One of these mornings". The second suggestion is from the 1989 James Bond film License to Kill although was never really THE song for the movie. But it's called "If you asked me to". Best of luck.
