If you are a victim of domestic abuse, please reach out to someone for help. Please call the national domestic abuse hotline at 1-800-799-SAFE. That’s 1-800-799-7233 or go to thehotline.org to chat with someone online. In the event the abuser is nearby, you can ensure that you don’t get caught trying to get help.
If you are having feelings of harming yourself or someone else or even just need someone to talk to, please contact your local mental health facility, call 911 or call Mental Health America who operate the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 1-800-273-TALK. Krystal was just as evil and demented as Patrick! How obsessed must you be with a guy to drive 12 hours to help him clean up after he butchered the mother of his child? Do you not worry he’ll do the same to you? What the eff is wrong with people???

Or that inmates are notoriously disloyal and they you shouldn't write down your criminal plans? I've always assumed that if somebody fights for custody tooth & nail, it is for the best for the child. I assumed that they were fighting, because they care about the child. Especially dads honestly. Well I started dating someone recently, and I have been through D.V therapy and training now. I saw a million red flags. But before that, I assumed a 50 year old man, seemingly stable, 50/50 parent to a young girl... he won't hate women... right? WRONG WRONG WRONG WRONG. He fought for his kid in court, because he loves being around and being able to care for his child... right? WRONG WRONG WRONG WRONG. It became clear, that it was all about power and revenge. His daughter wasn't going to spend more time with a woman who dared to leave him. His daughter wasn't going to live outside of his ultimate control. He is pretty awful to his daughter, even down to insisting on trying to humiliate her because of silly things that are associated with a ten year old. Well- I could see it due to my DV training. In the past, this likable, stable, employed, home owner and "good guy" on paper, would have had the opportunity to really hurt me, because I would struggle to see it, especially when it seems like nobody else can. But he is a complete bully. And some poor woman was married to him and still has to deal with him in her life, and with him playing games with, and hurting, her child. I am ecstatic that I don't.

I followed this case closely and the popular theory was that Kelsey was tired of Patrick's crap and the relationship was over. He wanted sole custody of the baby and rumor was that Kelsey was planning to take Cayley and move back to her parents. Patrick seemed to be very controlling and he wasn't going to let that happen. He had a pretty short fuse too per other people in the town who knew him and had dated him. He was scary. They were very tight lipped about all the evidence during the investigation and Patrick lawyered up immediately, dodging any sort of interrogation. He never joined the search groups looking for Kelsey either. That Krystal deserved a lot more time. I guess she got a sweet deal because she was instrumental in putting the pieces together with her testimony. She knew he was planning to kill Kelsey and could have stopped it though. I think on top of helping him clean up and lying she should have gotten at least 10 years. Esp since she was a nurse. He is a director of music ministries at Hodges Boulevard Presbyterian Church. He has been a musician for the/a church for 23 years. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in industrial engineering and worked in aerospace. He was married for 30 years. He has one other child (a son not sure of age) who he did not kill. I’m talking old plantation wealth. However, Jville poverty rate is at 16.4% So 1 out of every 6.1 residents lives in poverty. There is just under a million people here and that does not include the beaches residents. The beaches is a much harder place for those living in poverty to survive. I moved here for school/work right out of my early 20s. It’s strange as big as it is the downtown area has the tiniest skyline. It’s really got that small town feel. It’s beautiful as far as landscape. Very heavily wooded…that’s changing though too. They can’t build enough Walmarts and Rack Room Shoes I guess. 🤷‍♀️ I stay at the beaches. We have our own issues here but crime is a bit lower. We are the place where the townies come for the summer. We have all the bars, restaurants and shopping like any beach town. But after 20 years of this place I’m ready to go. I know it’s my cue to leave when they’ve built a Margaritaville down the road. 😆

13:53 as a European, it makes me so sad to hear "anyone struggling with medical bills" when I literally just went and filled my whole prescription of 10 different meds (allergies, fibro, and migraines) and it came to a total of just 3€. My 7yo nephew was rushed to hospital 2 days ago with appendicitis and the only thing we had to worry about was him getting better. He's in a private room, with an iPad and the Disney channel and we don't have to pay a cent for it. That people have to go into debt to be healthy is one of the greatest tragedies of American culture.

I'm from Germany and I am glad that health insurances are mandatory here! I can't imagine it being otherwise - just like you, I pick up my refill meds at the pharmacy and pay €3 - €7 (the recipe fee for small, medium or large pill boxes), the rest is being paid for by my health insurance provider. I often wonder how it can be that priorities are so different in the US, with people spending huge amounts of $$ for new cars, restaurants (several times a week?!) and credit card payments, but no sufficient healthcare...just imagine having an accident, or cancer 😱 and you are the one who has to pay for those medical bills or chemotherapy!! That would be the financial ruin of the entire family!

My blood boils when I'm reminded about Krystal and her stupidity in following orders from a demon and not reporting to law enforcement and set him up to be arrested. And to think she was a MEDICAL professional! There were cases where the victim was saved because the person who had knowledge actually reported this to the Police and they set up a sting operation. She could have saved Kelsey! This was a horrible case. Poor Kelsey. I was still reeling from the tragic case of Shannan and her kids also in Colorado then I heard about this case. It's really sad to think that good people sometimes end up with monsters that will eventually murder them. This monster and the other monster (I don't like mentioning their names) who murdered Shannan might be BFF's. Selfish narcissistic bastard! We can just be thankful that they're so dumb they got caught and justice was served.

For anyone who needs it: you deserve better. You don’t need to just settle for someone, you deserve the absolute best in life, and you deserve someone who genuinely loves you and cares about you. If your partner shows behaviour like Patrick, you should leave, partners like that are not healthy and run you down, you don’t deserve that abuse. You deserve the best in life, and it’s better to be single and content in life, instead of in an unsafe relationship and constantly on edge.

Learnt the hard way with an ex, wished there was a wider education about this stuff. Listening to these make me question my reality. Me in my right state of mind is like “Um if an ex asked me to clean up a murder scene I’d call the cops so fast and be flabbergasted, for life, at such a request” But this nurse lady is doing all of this, I mean it takes a lot of intelligence to be a nurse. She’s not dumb. I understand being a doormat sometimes for someone you’re attracted to(not that it’s ok but i understand) but to clean up a whole murder scene…I’m just…I’m confusion

I think it also helps the grandparents too I can’t imagine losing a child so to have their grandchild to focus on would be very helpful and lots of love for the child. It always drives me crazy when I see the child going to the killers parents especially if they deny their child is a murderer .
