I've felt PA school was no longer an option because I struggled in college initially, I do however have a higher science GPA vs my overall. But to hear your story lets me know I can persevere and still make it to PA school if I continue to work hard. Thanks Adanna

    Natalie Garcia the schools I applied to were not holistic approach schools. My stratergy for apply to school was, I had family and I wanted to stay in a particular ares, so I looked at schools in those areas. I then looked at their requirements and if I met them or not, and I worked towards making myself a better candidate for those schools (ultimately overall, but specifically those schools). I retook quite a few classes and then did what I needed HCE wise, prayed hard, lol, and I got in.

  • @AdannaThePA

    Hi I could see how it could be confusing so how Caspa calculates it you have separate gpas but then they also calculate an overall GPA which goes with the GPA that you graduated with. Although they have it broken down via undergrad post bacc, and graduate GPAs so schools can see how you performed in each stage of your life they calculate an overall GPA of everything ultimately summing up one complete GPA. Hope this clarifies things a little better.

  • @AdannaThePA

    @AdannaThePA

    +Samaya Wilson so it's not all of your science credits it's usually your science prerequisite courses which are typically your biology chemistry anatomy and physiology genetics for some schools. However the issue is is that it's not all schools that have that 5-year cap some schools have a 7-year caps I'm supposed to have a 10-year cap and some schools don't have caps at all so you just have to look at the school's requirement and see which school year able to apply to.

  • @AdannaThePA

    I think that programs vary from school to school so understanding what you want out of your program is important when choosing the program. +iza honestly any major is fine the thing is you will need to complete all of your prerequisites for PA school. That's why most people go the route of sticking to the Sciences or Allied Health Majors because those allow you to complete the majority if not all of your prerequisite requirements and your major without having to take extra courses not pertaining to your major.
