The Seto scene broke me, but for some reason Lyna's speech really just twisted the dagger. Her voice actor killed it. I was so exhausted after these cutscenes.

In an overall excellently-voiced expansion, why did it still constantly feel like Lyna was dunking on the rest of the cast? Mostly in jest, as the cast almost all had a chance to show off their chops, but Lyna rocked every scene she had. If I were her voice actor my entire reel would just be her Lyna scenes and a short clip of dropping the microphone.

@@Precaricat I read somewhere that this was Lyna's VA's first gig, and she had been basically picked on a whim to read for her.

Shadowbringers stabs you in the gut with feelings. Then when you think it’s over, the post-Shadowbringers stuff comes in with an elbow slam. Seriously. The Chais being so heartfelt, and Ardbert and Seto got me.

Such devastation was DEFINITELY their intention. I meme to hide the pain.

In case you don’t remember, that glance back at 26:11 is exactly the same as G’raha’s when he locked himself inside the tower at the end of Crystal Tower raids

I love how when Urianger isn't shouldering the most difficult secrets the plot of this game can trust him with, he takes every chance he can to become the largest Shakespearean ham in the room. When drama grants you foresight and summons you to perform, it is thine utmost duty to answer the heart of the cards! And he's SO good, he can play... himself! He really is my favorite, and this was such a way to close Shadowbringers. :D

Funny that you mention the heart of the cards, Urianger's JP voice actor, KENN, got his big break voicing Jaiden Yuki in Yu-Gi-Oh! GX, and Uri becoming an AST is meant to be a sort of callback to that role. As is him posing with the cards a lot.

Can never not cry at the Seto cutscene 😢

The bit with Seto hit harder than it initially did given the recent events I've experienced. I would give anything to have one more day with my dear pets. 🥹❤️

Going back to Seto is like taking Fry back to the pizza shop to see his dog one last time. It got me for sure.

I'm still amazed that 5.4 managed to FOLLOW 5.3 without seeming like a major letdown. (A cooldown maybe, but)

For those wondering where Endy's at in the story so far, he's currently on the level 87 questline.

When my wife was catching up and went through the Seto cutscene, I broke down sobbing. My dog Pepper had recently been diagnosed with a rapidly growing cancer and she had been deteriorating to the point of being almost unable to walk. I knew she was not going to be here for long and the whole cutscene I imagined it was her saying "Had I learned to speak sooner, I would have told you how much you meant to me, How much I cared." I was hoping she also knew that's how I felt. She is now in a little box on the kitchen mantle, but I will never forget her. And she is the reason I am crying here again.

I forgot about this Seto scene, and my cat Wicket of 15 years died last year. This just made me ugly cry.

Seto savage strikes again

Crafting and Crying, today has been a good day.

I managed to keep it together during the Seto scene. It was the farewell at the Crystarium that took me down. I had a cat that passed away when I was in college, just after FF11 came out. I was crying for a full day. Some days later I was looking at info on the game and I saw that my cat's name was on the rename list (but not on the initial list) for the Dragoon's pet wyvern. Easiest 9000 gil I ever spent in that game and I went from pondering paladin to becoming a Dragoon main for life. I hope the dragoon rework in 14 brings Milo back to me.

Having always owned pets, the seto stuff hurt enough as is, but having said goodbye to one pet right around 5.3 and then the other during the first week of EW, this scene completely messes me up now, man

The Seto scene is just another shiv to the heart and this game has many. Too many.

I hope this game continues for years to come. Just for more Endy videos. I can't remember the last time I watched anyone else play FF14, lol.

5.3 will be forever my favorite ending. It is just so wholesome and well as G'raha is my favorite character - seeing him come back and being able to do what HE wants for the very first time after all he's been through just makes me wanna cry out of happiness

I barely managed to not cry when I did the Seto bit, but as I watched you go through it I couldn't help but imagine reuniting with the cat I had as a kid, and that got me.

Even now I tear up watching someone else go through this. This is why I'll ALWAYS give Seto a hug or a pet if I happen past Wolekdorf.

Seto destroy's me every time... like you said what I wouldn't give to say goodbye to so many pets and loved ones..

Seto scene is ....something special.

I can fully relate to the whole pet thing where you have to struggle through the pain because "someone has to". My cat was 18 and I was ~30, she'd been a part of my life for over half of it and walking in to see her dead on the bed she always slept on nearly shattered to pieces. That same day earlier my mom was sent to the hospital and I had to be the only one to take care of it. I have two other cats as well, I love them dearly, but she as well meant so much to me. She is gone, but she lives in my memories to this day. (Also totally not crying thinking of it all right now...)

Dulia, Seto and Lyna had me crying my heart out 😭. And yet, my blood boils every single time I see Asahi's body show up. Of all the bodies... 😡😵‍💫

while the technology for hugs do exist, do you really want Dulia hugging Alphinaud after what happened to Chia-Nuzz when she hugged him? :D

I wonder, did you ever go back to Cyella after you completed the 5.3 MSQ? Also, if you were doing the Eden raids and never finished it, that barrier is gone now.

Don't feel bad, the Seto/Ardbert scene ruined anybody with a soul.

The game is long but it has payoffs, for sure! That Seto scene, every time

Screw 5.3. this patch makes me cry more than the whole rest of the game

"He's psychotic!" No. Worse. He's a nihilist.

Every time I see the Seto scene all I can think about is Preach's reaction: (trying to hold back tears) "Stupid trash weeb game" lol Shadowbringers had such devastating cut scenes man

ahh 30:00 was the scene where I just instantly told my friend how good this expansion is. Funny thing is he also did the same thing when he's on this scene. What a great expansion.
