    I passed my DAS module 2 (with 2 minors: going too slow) today. I passed here in London and i can say that watching (over and over) these videos got me through. The training is top notch and the commentary is extremely helpful. I'd say that without these videos I'd not have passed.. As I was riding I was saying to myself: "New road, check my mirrors, cancel my signal, command position" All driving schools should teach like this. I can't praise the training enough. You have my sincere thanks! I just wish there was some way I could show my appreciation!

    Just passed my mod 1 and mod 2 first time. It wasn't straight forward, but my advice.... • watch these videos and others available from other good training establishments and learn from mistakes made by other learners • get some training with a good instructor and listen to what he says • be prepared to take criticism and learn from it • get to know the roads, speed limits, road markings of possible routes on test day • try commentary while you ride, talk yourself through hazards and junctions methodically • if you do it in winter, make sure you are warm enough, it will help you focus on what's important • don't expect to be puppy walked while learning. It's a steep learning curve and it's going to be up to you in the test to get it right, there's only so much an instructor can do for you so nip those bad habits in the bud early on Remember, it's less than an hour of sharp focus on every aspect of riding. Practice periods of intense concentration on practice rides. Get through that 45 mins on your test day and you've got many hours out on the road to look forward to.

    The wrong thing about the UK test is they focus you so much into a strict "MIRRORS SIGNAL MANEUVER". Checking mirrors constantly, you end up missing critical signs like speed limits, directions ect. You end up going into auto pilot and it just goes in 1 ear out the other and end up miss hearing what they was on about.

I watch your video's each at least once, I then often will play your video's while I'm working away at my computer without viewing it, I find it helpful as it drums things into my head by keep hearing it if that makes sense. I'm near Bridgwater. The Pan is so easy to ride, I was on it a week after getting the A test. My Pan has been garaged for a couple of weeks, getting a major service. Brakes are binding currently so I am replacing pistons and seals in the 3 calipers, and the master and slave cylinders. Only on 39k miles so there should be plenty of adventures ahead together. Very useful video. Thanks! What are your thoughts on traffic filtering during the test? I did my CBT and have been riding for a few months commuting everyday to and from work. It's about 15 miles each way at rush hour that involves dual carriage A roads and city center riding. I learnt to filter after observing more experienced riders and watching some of the police tuition videos on KZread. There are a few situations in the video where I would have tried to filter but I see the students making no such attempts. I plan on taking DAS fairly soon. Thanks.

    Can you elaborate on mini roundabout at 7:39?Is indicating on approach necessary? Indicating on approach in this particular situation wouldn't benefit anybody, and could confuse drivers behind making them think you're about to stop just before that roundabout....at least in my very humble (and probably wrong) opinion.

  • @RJHMotorbikeTraining

    @RJHMotorbikeTraining

    7 жыл бұрын

    Yes you must indicate on the approach to a mini roundabout just the same as a standard roundabout. The difference with a mini roundabout however is you do not need to provide the secondary exit signal as mini roundabouts are too small for this.

    When you say "new road, check your mirrors, cancel your signal". why do you need to check the mirrors before canceling the signal? what is it that you're looking for when checking the mirrors, and does this affect when you should cancel your signal? or is this just following the mirror, signal, maneuver. Thanks

  • @RJHMotorbikeTraining

    @RJHMotorbikeTraining

    7 жыл бұрын

    Good question, a couple of reasons why. One reason for test purposes is on a module 2 test one of the reasons (popular) that people fail is they leave their indicators on, so using the system new road, command position check mirrors and cancel indicators helps get into a routine of cancelling them. The more important one for day to day reasons is to ensure you are aware what has followed you, in order to be aware of traffic behind at all times.

  • @JoshHarrisPOV

    @JoshHarrisPOV

    7 жыл бұрын

    RJH Motorbike Training right that makes sense, my dad's an instructor so he's allready got me thinking the command position etc but hadn't heard of the new road saying, so on my ride to school this morning I was saying that through my head each time I turned, thanks for replying

    Question for you- something I struggle with due to year of driving a car... The two second rule? Does that apply in all situations? E.g. In traffic crawling? Or coming up to a round about for example and a car is in front waiting for a clear gap to pull out? Can I then close up to the bumper or?

  • @RJHMotorbikeTraining

    @RJHMotorbikeTraining

    7 жыл бұрын

    I would use the 2 second rule as a general guide and at 30mph and above. Traffic crawling or under 30mph be able to stop within the distance in front of you and as a guide here 10mph/1 car length, 20mph 2 car length. At junctions and traffic lights/stationary allow enough room that you can ride around the vehicle if needed.

    +Mark Seals323 We would generally see a new rider taking up to 6 days to obtain their FULL motorcycle license. That said everyone is different, we all learn in different ways. I would always recommend completing your CBT before you committ to a full course, this gives the Instructor a better idea of your requirements, but as important you can see the school before you part with your hard earned cash. If you are in the North West our details can be found at www.rjhgroup.co.uk

    It's a shame you havnt got the bredbury test route on here. Got my mod 2 in October and it's in bredbury. It has taken 3 months to get me booked in for mod 2 which is a joke really

    We use Bredbury, Macclesfield, Blackburn, Atherton and St Helens. Your training school must only use Bredbury? We can get trainees Mod 1 and 2 tests within a couple of weeks.

    the mirrors to slow down mirrors to pull away on the test really irritates me. when riding through London daily i have no interest in what is behind me except when im changing lanes. sometimes the car in front will slow and then suddenly stop if i checked my mirrors when he started to slow to see if a moron is up my butt im not looking at the car ahead which is much more dangerous than looking at the car behind. lucky for me the car driver behind is not doing the same or he may hit me. when pulling away the only thing that is going to be in my way is some moron trying to overtake on the lights and the only people that have ever done that to me are cyclists so if they want to be run over fine crack on. Im considering getting a rider scan and to be honest it would be a lot safer to glance at that then it would be to turn my head away from where im going but that doesn't matter the the people who run the tests they want what they want and that's it. thanks for the video its helpful i will be retaking mod 2 soon and appreciate you making these videos

    It doesn't actually matter how many times you take your test, because failing it will only improve your riding. Plus the test is pure luck. My examiner was a real job's worth, and it all depended on what mood he was in on the day.

    @@RJHMotorbikeTraining absolutely. I passed on my fifth test. It wasn't particularly hard, but I lost my confidence a couple of times. But once I was made aware of my faults, I learnt from them and they didn't happen again. And after spending all that time and money, I couldn't just stop.

    I think it's wrong to say you didn't need to use the indicator because there is no one there so it's not beneficial. You never know who is looking to cross the road or the nutty biker doing 100 mph better to be safe than sorry. I always indicate.

  • @RJHMotorbikeTraining

    If you take effective observations then you would see "who is looking to cross the road or the nutty biker doing 100 mph " and take the necessary steps. If no one would benefit from the indicator why would you indicate? As a matter of interest what difference do you think indicating to tell the " nutty biker doing 100 mph" would make??

    RJH Motorbike Training You can be observant but what if you cannot see the potential risk so why take it? Also the nutty biker might see you indicate from a distance and give you more space. The guys in this video looked right but didn't look left for pedestrians that can run out but pedestrians might see your indicators. I know it's not likely but why risk it? You don't go through red lights when there are no cars so indicate also when there are no cars.
