Module 2 Mock Test in Atherton

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Getting a pupil into the ZONE in preperation for his Module 2 shortly. This particular Mock was a nice tidy ride, which would of more likely been a pass in my opinion.

    Thanks for your videos Rob,been watching them for the last month and passed my mod 2 yesterday.Living the dream now or mid life crisis if you ask my wife.One bit of advice I would give to anyone is to not be to cautious about getting up to speed limits,my examiner almost failed me for not getting a f&&ing move on as he put it .Said he would rather I was a bit over the limit than under!!Also before the independent ride he told me to pull over got off his bike strolled up beside my bike,at this point I thought I had messed up with some dangerous riding fault , then he just said this is the independent ride follow the signs etc..

    Test was today. Friday i received a text saying the bike had broken down and was unavailable for the test. Thursday was the last day i could cancel. Contacted another company which said they would let me use their bike for £120 but would include a 2 hr lesson before the test. About to go through with it, they wanted me to pay by card the day before the test but i said id rather pay cash in the morning. An hour later their bike had also broken down. So annoyed. Perfect weather for it today and i had no bike to go and do the test. Now to wait to hear back about the bike from my instructor and book a new test, although it looks like august is the soonest without cancellations.

    Really appreciate these videos, I've been watching a ton recently. I failed my Mod 2 first time at Darwen and I'm looking to rebook it but this time in London. From an instructors point of view, what can I expect to be the main differences? Besides traffic and lower speed limits? I'm feeling nervous as I think it's going to be harder in London as there's more going on at one time! Any tips? Cheers!!

  • @RJHMotorbikeTraining

    @RJHMotorbikeTraining

    7 жыл бұрын

    You hit it on the head!! Darwen is Rural, country bends and national speed limits which if your used to riding in town then you can struggle. (I would like to know why you failed) its normally positioning on bends and speeds. London will be different, similar to the City in Manchester. Make sure your comfortable with bus lanes etc..... Keep us posted and keep watching the videos.

    I would be interested to know the sort of time scale generally expected for the das. I am doing mine right now and am a little concerned i havent had much time on the bike. Cbt on 700cc 2hrs off road and 2hrs on road Module 1 2 hrs training then the test (passed no minors) Module 2 2hrs training on the road 4 days before test and another 2 hrs due 2 days before my test. Having not ridden a bike before i have no bench mark and i feel comfortable operating the bike properly. I did however think the training might be a little more intensive and lengthy. Would appreciate your opinion Have enjoyed watching your videos

    Thanks for the reply. So far the experience has been pretty straight forward and as you say my instructor is confident in my ability. I think prior to learning i have built up a concept of what it would be like, i expected it to be challenging. So far the experience has been pretty frictionless which i have found disconcerting. Test on monday weather permitting. I will post the outcome, again thanks for the vids, your module 1 helped a lot.

    Great video, as are all of yours, clear and concise. I think the system of testing is wrong though, I think your instructor should be able to sign you off as competent as they do on a CBT. Your instructor sees you riding far more than the examiner, and the examiner sees you at your worst, when you're under pressure, and only for 40 minutes. I've got my MOD 2 on Monday and have watched your videos many times. I can ride a bike, but doing it perfectly on the day, who knows.

    Not at all. Your test will be as much of a variation as possible. Your Examiner will tell you where to go, and might get you moving off many times, doesnt mean youve done anything wrong at all.

    what is the dominant road position when riding normally? not for turns or junctions just straight forward roads? are you also required to use advanced cornering when turning at higher speeds, say country roads ,ie ride closer to the outside left of your lane for roads that curve to the right on your mod 2? thanks

  • @RJHMotorbikeTraining

    @RJHMotorbikeTraining

    7 жыл бұрын

    Good questions Lee. If I refer to 3 road positions in your lane to simplify it ok. Position 1 to turn left Position 3 to turn right and Position 2 for normal riding. However the KEY here is to be flexible depending on lots of things such as obstructions, road surface to name a few. Bends on a Module 2 are not advanced standard, so again simplify it, right hand bend Position 1 if of benefit ie visability, and Position 2 on a left hand bend, but again be flexible. Examiners don't like to see Position 3 on a left hand bend and also don't like braking on bends. Hope this helps.

  • @leebanner1309

    @leebanner1309

    7 жыл бұрын

    Yes it does, I kept my positioning to a minimum on bends favouring a dominant position but used all my 1,2,3 positions for all turns and roundabouts when safely appropriate. My examiner failed me for riding in position 2 saying this is where all the oil and rubbish gathers. Are you expected to ride in the advanced positions on your test? And where is the best position in the centre of your Lane for normal no hazard riding? Thanks for any input :-)

  • @leebanner1309

    @leebanner1309

    better question would be where exactly is your dominant position? slightly left or right of the centre of your Lane?

  • @RJHMotorbikeTraining

    @RJHMotorbikeTraining

    7 жыл бұрын

    Oh dear so your Examiner failed you for positioning? Where exactly? Normal or bends? Was it a wet day? Were the road conditions showing petrol/diesel in position 2? It does sound harsh, however it might be that the particular Examiner/Test Center has this as quirk to the route and if so your Instructor could of given you a heads up? What did your Instructor say? Which Test Center was it?

  • @RJHMotorbikeTraining

    @RJHMotorbikeTraining
