    Big thanks for uploading all these DAS/Mod 2 videos, RJH. I passed my Mod 2 today and found myself the past few nights watching these videos just to ensure I was familiar with the things the examiner is particularly picky about, following distance, closing the gap on corners, shoulder check before committing to a turn etc. Really helpful videos, keep it up!

    Really glad that you pointed out position 2 for the blind left hand bends.. In fact it's the first time I've heard anybody mention it as opposed to using pos 3. Ive driven cars since 1995 but completed my CBT in February or March and it quickly stood out to me that it's very common for oncoming traffic to cut over the centre of roads on left hand bends., I prefer not to lose my head : pos 3 🤣🤣🤣. Thankyou for confirming and clarifying this situation to me.

    I practiced OMS when driving the car today in readiness for my imminent DAS. It's easy to get into bad habits and takes some getting used to. Thanks to your instruction I found by planning ahead more, leaving plenty of time and space to observe and make decisions, it is very effective. However as I traveled along an unfamiliar country road, likely to be on my test, the national speed limit reduced to 40mph, but the large sign was dirty and obscured by trees. Noticing it at the last minute I instinctively braked first before checking mirrors. I'm aware where the sign is now, but could that have resulted in a failure? Had I looked in the mirrors first I may not have slowed in time. A message has since been sent to the local council about many signs in the area. including directional signs, obscured by foliage!

    hiI'm looking at taking my bike tests and one thing I fear (obviously) is failing. what certain things would be classed as an instant failure. I have been driving a car for a number of years now so I'm comparing to my test there which I know would be different.are there a set amount of minor/majors as there are with a car test and if so what are the numbers?the one thing I think would catch me out is the mirror checks before stopping/pulling away. since driving I have stopped doing this and just got into a bad habit. if I were to forgot to do this once, would that be an instant fail?

  • @RJHMotorbikeTraining

    @RJHMotorbikeTraining

    OK 1st thing is try and relax, and put your driving experience to good use when obtaining your bike license. Module 1 you can obtain 5 minor faults and pass however 6 minor faults or a serious/dangerous fault would be a fail. Module 2 you can obtain 10 minor faults and pass however 11 minor faults or a serious/dangerous fault would be a fail. There are so many variations of faults and indeed a lot are shown on our videos here. Good luck and keep us posted.

  • @6Twisted

    @6Twisted

    7 жыл бұрын

    Apparently you need to have passed your theory test within the last 2 years or have held the A1 licence for a minimum of 2 years. A better question is why would you even bother with the A1 license if you're over 24? You might as well just take the DAS and be able to ride whatever you like and not have to worry about later tests and you can start building up insurance discounts on your new licence.

    Any 1st Motorcycle Practical Tests ie: Mod 1 and Mod 2 on A1, A2 or A would need a valid CBT and Motorcycle Theory. On upgrading after 2 years (or age requirement) ie: A1 to A2 or A2 to A would only need a Mod 1 and Mod 2 Hope this helps

  • @RJHMotorbikeTraining

    @RJHMotorbikeTraining

    7 жыл бұрын

    Hi and thanks for the question. MINI ROUNDABOUT RULES During a riding test, the examiner will expect these rules to be followed. TURNING LEFT AT A MINI ROUNDABOUT OSM PSL. Certainly a left signal here. Consider that it is likely to be a residential area, just before turning left consider a lifesaver for hazards such as cyclists. STRAIGHT AHEAD OSM PSL. Mini roundabouts are junctions and therefore potential hazards. The examiner will expect you to be checking your mirrors on approach to a mini roundabout and adjusting your speed in accordance to visability.. Unlike large roundabouts, there is no need to indicate left after the first exit. TURNING RIGHT AT A MINI ROUNDABOUT OSM PSL. Certainly a right signal here. There is no need to indicate to the left just after the 2nd exit as you would on normal roundabouts. Hope this helps.

OK bus lanes, you need to use them if times allow, if you don't you can cause problems for yourself by impeding following traffic and encouraging them to undertake (fail) If you are unsure check your mirrors, if your Examiner goes in the bus lane there you go, get in it. Hope this helps keep us posted.

    how many people actually pass this ive been watching your vids, really good by the way ,but the test seems a lot tougher than i remember from the 80,s im thinking of going for full A licence, passed my full car in 82 but never got round to the bike test so thinking about it now but seems really hard and costly for a bike ?

    conanwon1 most people go on and pass. Put the correct amount of time in and you will. Yes it’s a longer process now but ultimately safer riders which is what we all want.

    @RJH Motorbike Training. Only just seen this. Been looking at a few vid's on Mod 2 Bike tests as considering my Direct Access sometime in future. Good clear Comm's & commentary from someone who probably has some other "crafted" accumulated riding skills & other experience. I won't expand on my most recent on the job training as it will cloud the waters for students . Good commentary. Despite other remarks on here I thought comm's were good.......I like clear sharp RT (rather than Hollywood productions). There are some awful examples on vid's by other instructors on other channels. I like the Pan btw - despite some prior concerns re stability when badly laden at high speeds. I will check out your other vid's and subscribe Thanks

    Good News thanks and I'm glad you like the vids. I'm Robert and the Instructor in the Video. My first time riding was 1972, and i'm still as passionate. Just tell it as it is, not a lot of editing just raw footage but the comms generally are good and Im now moving to bluetooth and 4k for recent stuff. There really is a lot of valuable content on the Channel and we will always get back to you if you have any questions. My advice is go for DAS you won't look back.

  • @RJHMotorbikeTraining

    @RJHMotorbikeTraining

    7 жыл бұрын

    Ride for yourself and loosing him at lights etc......is not a problem as long as you don't break the law, or put yourself or others at risk. He will just ask you to pull over safely. No faults there. However if you go through a red light that would be different and probably certainly a serious/dangerous fault and a fail.

    thanks another issue is if you go over potholes would that make you lose balance and fall? and another concern the instructor might say look out for cars not paying attention they might be looking at their phone. I always say calm, slow and steady reduces your risk.

    Would you go through potholes if you were out on your own? Im sure you would be avoiding as necessary which is what you should do on test. Forward Planning, showing you are anticipating and yes that you are safe. That said they like you to get on with it ok, so make good progress given conditions.

I'd like a bit more guidance at times on gearing for tight turns and roundabouts...find myself in 1st gear and that can get very jerky at times..I have my MOD 1 next week and this storm has meant my lesson was cancelled today and my practice at the DVSA at St Helens for Saturday has been cancelled due to a rider being involved in a fatal accident at the test centre (RIP that poor fella)
