MV Agusta brutal is a stunning looking bike but super expensive there’s no way I could buy 2 bikes without the boss going mental and I like having my dinner lol I Liked the triumph tiger 800 sadly did not see bmw at the show they missed a trick wanted to see the 750GS going to go for a test ride on both at some point over the next few weeks possibly picking up a second hand bike for first bike ? Weirdly was looking at triumph street triple but not sure after getting on one now ?..

    Another great video. Thanks for sharing. Unfortunately I failed Mod 2 on Friday on my first attempt. Complacency is a killer. I was less than 2 minutes away from returning to the test centre. I know the area very well. A black car on the other side of the road behind a park car happened to reverse out on to my side of the road as I was going past. I saw it late and, got past safely but because I didn't stop, it got marked as a serious fault. So guys that are taking your test, please remember, Complacency is a bummer!

    Great video! Taking my big license soon, very excited. Just a quick note for everyone as laws are always changing. The highwaycode updated in 2022 that gave pedestrians much higher priority. At 12minutes50seconds, it was mentioned the rider has priority at junctions. This is now outdated information. Pedestrians waiting cross have priority and road users must give way. This includes entering from a main road to side road and vice versa. See Gov.uk, Hericachy, rule H2 for more information. Hope this helps people not get caught out by new rules of the road on a test! Been driving a car for 9 years and taking some use to stopping on roads to allow pedestrians to cross in what i feel is a dangerous rule to getting rear ended by the car behind.

Like can you make that decision yourself, as long as its all within the speed limit etc? Also, could you just follow someone doing 50mph? Or are you expected to overtake

    @@DerKaktusAvant Well done my friend! 🤜🏼🤛🏼 Don’t know your situation, but I was a 30yr old mum of 3, with hubby working away…it was so stressful for me juggling home life, work and training/tests. Make sure you have a period in between tests to focus on yourself, get your head in a good place, but most importantly…find a bike school that you vibe off of, that is the single key to doing well. I personally didn’t gel with my 125, I wanted to be like the big kids 😄 so over a period of 3 months I knocked all of my tests out, passing all first time. I went for 3 mod one practice sessions, they said I didn’t need it, but I felt better in my mind. Keep your feet tucked right in when hazard avoidance…I booted the cone but it didn’t fall haha Mod 2 I only had one session, but I’m a car driver, so again practice until you’re blue in the face. Concentrate on your indicators and cancellations, and make progress. It’s quite intimidating having the DAS bike lights behind you, so I played a game of burning him off at each roundabout and junction to get a breather from him, he said I made good confident pull outs and made good progress so that was a bonus hehe Aim in your mind for when you want to pass by, that gave me something to work towards, or else you just bimble along as you are. Good luck, and keep me posted ☺️

    @@suzymckee thanks for the advice. I am 20 years old, passed my car test less than a month after I turned 17! My family owns a farm so have been on bikes and in cars all my life. Been watching lots of videos about the tests and I think I’ve got it. Think I’ll go for the tests and if I fail I’ll do a lesson. I like the idea of pulling away at junctions and roundabouts, as long as you are doing it safely I guess they don’t really care. Thanks again, stay safe out there! Funny thing about bike test is say you've never been on the road, you can do your cbt in a day and be on the road without having any road sense, no theory needed nothing just don't crash and you'll pass, and then your free to ride on the roads wherever you want aslong as its not a motorway.. that lasts 2 years, now you've been riding on the road for over a year you decide to do your full bike test..you your theory and then do mod 1 and mod 2, say you failed mod 2 you can still ride on the road just as you always have been..what is the difference in riding on the road for aslong as you like compared to paying to have your L plates taken off, even if you pass your still just riding as you were your just now on a bigger bike..nothing changed you rode there the same and rode back the same and rode as you've always rode😂 except your now about £1000 out of pocket just to have your Ls off 🤷‍♂️

    5:35 Why do you mention that you should've been in position 1 (over to the left)? That would only encourage cars to creep up next to you and it would give you a worse line into the left hander. If it was a junction I could see it being courteous as to let those wanting to turn right also pull up to the line, but on a roundabout you need to command your lane and make others wait behind you.

  • @C9S1

    @C9S1

    5 жыл бұрын

    I only use this in every day riding when I'm stopped and I'm pulling away (as I don't agree it's necessary) but DVSA teach you to do it any time you change speed. When slowing down you should always do it however of course, test or no test. It's so you're aware if there any vehicles behind you in the event of overtaking, having to break sharply and other things more probable to happen when accelerating. It's excessive though as mentioned as you're already going to be doing rear mirror checks regardless in these events. I guess it's so you don;t get 'caught out' or surprised when a car's there when you didn't expect it to be. There's a whole range of other bs stuff they teach tbh...where I'm sure advanced motorcyclists can agree on is not necessary as it detracts from the more important things.

Pretty much anything requires a life saver. Thats just what i was taught rightly or wrongly. That said I’ve been driving for a decade and i wont be doing checks as often as I was taught because I feel like you get this mental image when you are on the road and it’s only when I instinctively feel I need to update this image that I make extra checks.

    At 7:55 - You messed up the lanes. If i were you i would simply just turn right after i choose wrong lane, and i wouldnt care whatever direction examiner gave to me. Is it minor or major fault if you go straight /exit two/ from second lane? Wouldnt you fail on the test? Right after this roundabout, you stopped at red lights behind silver VW. You blocked the entrance to Mcdonalds. It is also fault, isnt it?

  • @C9S1

    @C9S1

    5 жыл бұрын

    1. 7:55 You're right, it's better to have just gone around the roundabout then back out. I actually made a similar mistake in my Mod 2 and did not even get a minor for it (although it was a mini roundabout and positioned so it made sense to be in lane 2) but at most you'd get would be a minor for lane positioning, as long as you're not causing any extra danger to other drivers. It's really is a common sense thing, so don't worry about that too much especially regards to unmarked ones or mini roundabouts. 2. Absolutely not. Stopping in front of entrances / dropped kerbs while riding normally is perfectly acceptable and actually almost impossible to avoid in the city / rush hour! Obviously the only exceptions being yellow box junctions, or 'keep clear' signs (btw keep clear in the real world is not-enforceable and is merely a suggestion) but in your test you could potentially get a minor for stopping in one for impeding flow of traffic. And also again this only applies when you're riding, not if you get asking to pull over where safe (in which case you have to avoid dropped kerbs / driveways and ofc double yellow lines - the examiner might tell you not to worry about single yellow lines like in my test. Hope that clears that up
