I want to see that 168.8 you click baited me with.. Can you show what one ZV5, a Nightshade or Team can do in this box?
I figured it out. Rafa’s mom heard that there was wood in that Jeep. She snuck in last night and cracked the box from grinding all over it.

"Many many many times over rated power is an understatement lol...super impressive!! The new SAs are gonna be hard to contend with in their class. Sundown Audio FTW!!!
Channel is awesome bro! Look forward to everytime a new episode is put out! Thanks for all the hard work!!
I love these videos. They are the only reason I decided to buy sundown subwoofers.
2 more clicks 2 more clicks.. my dude likes to live on the dangerous side!! 🤪💯
I was really surprised at the power it was handling. Then again its a sowndown and it will handle the power. I loving it man. Thanks for the demo.
you should make a sub with a heat reactive dust cap so it'll change color according to temp. oh yah I'm gonna need my royalties for the idea.

That is a awesome idea. People would be all over that.
Love the channel keep doing what you're doing my favorite channel so far
Uber Awesome! Great honest representation of your own product.... Very infomative. Cant wait for next vid... Thx & keep up the hard work! ;-)

I am more than impressed I am sold that is the reason why I will never buy another sub but sundown guys give it up for sundown they really deserve it when they can take as a series which is a not a budget series but it is a common everyday guy affordability series where the average consumer can afford to get one or two of these without breaking the bank you just going to break the bank with the amp keep up the work I want to soon as they come out I will be pre-ordering me some
Super impressed, man. Starting to make a believer outta me!
All these old videos are totally rewatchable 😎
I find this channel very entertaining to watch.
Seems to be a beast of an enclosure too

sounds like you haven’t gotten above 150. it’s not the “return” you get from the sub. it’s the happiness and joy it creates when you work hard for your things and it feels good to use it and build it. it’s more than just money and sound. you obv aren’t a basshead

@@nigga7387 lmao not if your competing bruh. It's all about the dollar per decibel when it comes to competition... obviously because when you drop $10,000+ on a build you want it to preform better than a 4k$ build lmfao
Great video 👍 thanks for putting in the time.
They are going to prove what I said yesterday sundown is the best I want my four!
Thanks again for another awesome video!!

Love this channel.
I use to be the QA tech for a large car audio company and I’ve tested a lot of subs in the past. I understand from this video that the top layer of the cone had previously been separated from the sub along with the dust cap. My initial guess would be that there may not have been enough glue between the dust cap flange and the cone. When you reduce the surface area of glue between the dust cap flange and cone you increase the amount of force between those two surface areas under a load. I noticed in this video there looks to be plenty of glue between the dust cap and cone this time. However, even if it looks as if there is plenty of glue from the exterior of dust cap and cone it is hard to tell what is actually making contact underneath the dust cap flange where it rests against the cone. If you glued it by hand the second time it would be easier to control and know you had the appropriate amount of glue. Also, it would be possible to slightly extend the flange or the area of the dust cap that rests against the cone allowing for more surface area and glue to adhere the two together. This would also decrease the amount of force between the two surfaces under load. You can also inspect the pitch/angle of the flange portion of the dust cap that rests against the cone. If the dust cap flange area that rests against the cone does not make complete contact when in the resting position (without glue) then making adjustments to the dust cap flange to match the pitch/angle of the cone would have the added benefit of using less glue in order to provide a secure connection between the two. You of course will have to visually inspect this. It would be impossible for me to know in this video. Keep it up! I’ve enjoyed this video!

Less glue does not increase force, it just lessens the contact area for the force to be applied to. The top layer of the paper has a weak joint to the lower layers which likely caused it to delaminate due to the force behind the dust cap lifting the top layer of the paper. The failure point was the paper layers, not the cap.

Stephen M take some glue and apply between two 8x8 pieces of your choice of material with one being a molded material (such as a dust cap) and the other layered material (like a paper cone) and make sure to cover the full surface. Pull the two pieces away from each other while measuring the force until failure. Then do the same experiment with one small strip of glue between the two and measure the amount of force before failure. When you decrease the bonding area of two surfaces you increase the amount of force on the area bonded. That’s why two chains work better than one. Simple. If you use something like chip board or any other medium that is pressed in layers you will see it separate in layers. I’ve experienced and tested this first hand on multiple drivers that use a pressed paper cone. When the force is too great the dust cap will be ejected and what little glue is there will take a layer of paper with it.

Honestly I'm a Old skool alpine guy and Rockford Guy as well but I'm currently a skar guy I've had some problems with the 6.5 speakers nothing else but these reviews are making me like you henceforth your product I dont think other companies care but you do considering you for my next purchase Keep it up
Um ...WOW! I now understand why so many people love Sundown Audio. This isn't even the top performing sub in the lineup. I'm 2 years late finding out about these, but I just bought a used one and it is definitely the best sub I have ever personally had. I am now a Sundown Audio fan.
Just 38 more clicks 😁 Insane.
XD LOVE THE THUMBNAIL! not photoshopped at all.
I’m glad someone else shares my opinion about the new pioneer HU. The old pioneers from the early 2000s were the best, they should remake those. Like the deh-9100r and even the lower end models from that era, simple easy to use and easy to tune.
I paused at 20:45... Yesterday I guessed a 156. I'm sticking with that. You're already sending this sub to the Moon! Might as well make a huge noise getting there. OK, hitting play to see what's up. 😃
Legend says that Sundown is keeping secret, a sub that will handle 1.21 gigawatts.
Great Video! Keep up the good work!
Holy cow y'all are gonna be at Dragging Main? See you there.
Still love the sa series subs . Cant wait to get a pair of the new 15s to compare them to my current sa15s. I have a saz3500 for power. Keep it up guys. Much love!!

I'm buying some of these monsters for sure!
Good work on the subs
That bad boy took a shit ton of power
Daupe! This gives a good idea of max short term power handling. Can you in the next one show the max long term power handling? It’d be great to know, and see how you test that. Thanks 🙏🏼
Oh shet, sundown glasses thats epic
I absolutely love the baskets idk what people are trippin about. I run the sav2 15s in "the widow" on a dc 3.5k and the u series in "the blukon" on a dc 5k and ive yet to have any issues with anything on either. My entire team runs sundown subs (up here in bc canada) and no ones had a single problem. 10s of thousands into sundown and nothing.. the blukons actually a behind 3rd row system doing 58.6 and doing world class numbers for its class and still no issues
BACK AT IT AGAIN!!!
Thx for demonstration. Do you think by using 2 of these will add more DBS more so than just using one 15?
Will the new sa-15 be optimized for sealed enclosures like the previous model, which was happy in a sealed environment. Will the t/s parameters be close enuff for a drop in kinda thing to replace the previous model in the same sealed box? If that makes sense. Lol. Thanks.
Are the new sa series going to be more like the u series or stay true to the sa series? I own u15's very happy with them they sound very musical compared to the other set of 15's I had in there. But always looking for more for my other vehicles as a daily set up no lanes for me...
Love this channel has
I heard the government has invented a time machine and there going to release a video of it right after D releases part 2 of the nightshade video! Lol!
Do you have to re baffle the magic box often from mounting so many subs?
Still no part 2 of the sa12 will it blow... Any take on that were all waiting
So why the round over n the top of the rear of the box? Does that really do something?
Dibs on some glasses this weekend!
What happened to the SQ sub that was being made? I was really looking forward to it
Very nice!
Hey man is there any way you guys could run a dyno test on the 1100.5?? I own two and am really wondering what it is they’re pushing. Thanks
Damn, much respect...
Stitch the dustcap into the cone and have the stitching flow all the way to the surround for maximum rigidity so the paper cone won’t break nor cap comes off. Sort of like a spider tinsel lead design.
cant belive there is a show in Clovis nm. it's such a small town. I got hella family there. trips me out every time to hear there is a show there. the dirty curry
Awesome!!! When are they going into production along with the 12's?
Realistically what amp do you suggest for one and two of this Sub and when will this sub be available and for how much?
Great channel
Famous last words “just 2 more clicks” haha
bro if you could do that lil 30 sec tone walk around and that little spoken sentence I side the vehicle with your nightshade v3s 12 and v4 15 would be an awesome feature to your vids man.
Good video!
time-frame for the v2 release? approx?
Hey what happened to the send it on the dust cap?
Bring the channel back 💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾
Amazing!!!!!!
Man it’s all about the box yo
How well will it do with lows
Hey brother, if you had to guess what would a 150 outlaw be sealed up on dash so I have a point to compare it to? Love me some sundown 😋😎 current setup is 4 SA15's on two skar SKv1-3500.1's strapped and I have 4 x15d2's and two soundqubed q-4500.1's waiting in livingroom for me to buy some lith and build a box to spec for em... 150+ (sealed) all day and always have been
This sub is a monster for the price point and quality #sundownlivesmatter

They are, there flight just touch down.
Extremely reasonable
If one of these is affordable enough, I'd like to stick one in my car with my current amp setup, and see how big a difference there is. I'd probably put my Audiobahns in my blazer because it's bare at the moment. Nothing but a Pioneer head unit and half-blown door speakers.
Will an new 18" be produced with that bigger badder motor? Ill take one. Will they also be musical? 👍Replace my Sa-rev.2 with it.
What price would it be for the subwoofer?
Can you do this exact same spl measurement but just with team sub? It would be epic, i think becouse it is 3 times stronger that it will accept a bit more power and get louder :) and why dont put team subs in your project spl build, to me its more logical becouse of motor force and strenght of sub to put stronger sub to get more spl, if the sub can handle it... dont know how it works, i see a for example 165db from 4 subs wich are rated 1500w rms each and 4 subs wich are 3000w eacs rms, so dont know how it works but i assume it should be louder
Are they better than the zvx 15
damn, every time i see this vid i become real close to purchasing 2 of these.. just need to find a prefab box that will fit these for under $200. I'll add extra bracing/baffle.
Hey, I'm building a box for your x series 15.v2 would you no off hand what the mounting hole size is for those subs? Thanks

Can somebody please tell me how hes doing this number with 1 15 when some people do that number with 4 in a wall
I would love to see nspl competition stock electrical components only. I think it would be more of a challenge to see what the average person could upgrade to without having to upgrade the entire car.

Do you get more DB with 57 hz versus 32hz? I always thought the lower the hz the higher the DB.
