It's a good score for sure, but it's not the loudest nor is it near the world record holder for the loudest system at this point. I have seen better scores at Meca World finals like 5 or 6 years ago in Kentucky. They were hitting 178s and 179s and they kept getting louder every time they ran. I personally didn't see a 180 db but they said someone hit it at the show.

It's the build itself more than the subs. Put those subs in another van, extreme or not and it will not hit those numbers. RP van is rock solid built to pressurize any sub sound to get loud.

Goes to show you it's more about the design than the equipment.

my guess was 178.4 on the last video when Derek told us to guess, and it hit a 178.62 that is 0.22 db of a difference I was very close. Just amazing

Insane. All these people saying sundown is overpriced and not worth the money are out of their mind. I wasn't suprsed to see that coil in perfect condition. Thanks for always giving us the best tests on youtube.

at those pressures you can't even call what happened to those subs failure. They were being pushed lightyears beyond what they were designed for and survived until just under 179DB

It's all about keeping the vehicle from flexing and making it air tight. Don't even have to put the subs in a recommended size for normal use amd throw 12 + volts to the rca's and make noise!!!!

Meh, I was WAY off and I thought I was being generous with 174dB! I think this is s a GREAT advertisement for the Sundowns, handling 6.67X as much power per sub as that for which they are designed, and only one of them encountered difficulties. I wonder what SPL they could get if they glued 20 motors to the back of a giant, flat, slab of ultra-stiff carbon fiber composite! Welcome to the Sundown (literal) Wall of Sound speaker system!

I still have two lcs 12's v.1 from the yardsale. I got them for $45 a piece. They have been running on a teramps smart 3k for 4 years now. The definitely are not 300w rms. I've been feeding them 1500w clean power for 4 years daily.

Like who, you didn't even mention any brand cause there's no other brand out there that can and does what Sundown has achieved. 185.2 is the world record on Sundown subs.

I had some of these once they were my first sundown subs but someone stole them and never got them back

With seats moved forward yes You'll need a minimum of 4cuft but 6cuft ported would be much better

i have skar subs what the differnts my are 300 watt but 8 inch do 2 and 1 oms this know are allot better brain but to they both have same DB or what
