He is the 19th regeneration of The Doctor, just taking a little break in New York City to work on his chess game across a few thousand years. The Tardis is probably just tucked a few blocks away. Obviously the proof is when you look up all the photos of him over the decades playing chess in the park he never changes age...and is almost always wearing the same outfit.
I just love the energy of this man. This is the kind of wisdom you only get from a random man in a park. And the mysterious man who goes by "doctor" claiming to be a time traveler just showing up and leaving again what the fuck is going on here lol

Johnny's the best. Nobody could love chess more than he. He really knows the game, and gets massive enjoyment, win or lose. What more can you ask for in an opponent? This was a fun watch.
Anna is so proud of her mum! Pia is so modest calm and quiet but also brilliant and deadly on a chess board. Johnny's genuine pleasure from the social aspect of meeting and playing people is lovely to see, and he's not wrong!

looked up the nyt front page for july 6th 2021- so cool! the way johnny was explaining chess in the previous vid was so incredible: not shaming, just being educational and treating chess like the action-packed interesting game it is.

I absolutely loved the social interaction between all of you. Keep up the good work on your channel and I'll keep watching. You are a gem of a person and a pretty good player as well.
I absolutely LOVE these games where Pia and Anna are together.
This was such a wholesome video. I really enjoyed watching him from trying to teach her to be amazed by ber skill and just wanting the pleasure to play her one more game. No ego, just joy of playing a true master of the game the both obviously love.
I loved this video. The man’s interaction with them and how he described the basics of chess was awesome. You can tell he loves chess and social interaction. He is truly a Grand Master of the Social Game.
This man was an excellent sport and a true master of the social aspect. All 3 of you are beautiful souls. Thanks for sharing.
His extreme enthusiasm at the prospect of challenging himself against a master is very much to his credit. What a guy!
This man should seriously consider becoming a chess teacher, even if he believes he isn't good enough to be one. There is some serious merit in being able to engage new players the way he does. To be able to help someone step foot into the world of Chess in such an attention grabbing way is invaluable.
I just love this guy! These videos make my heart happy. Thank you for this!! I love chess so much but never tried playing tournaments
I don't even know how to play chess, and I am addicted to these videos! When someone hones their craft to the highest echelon of their discipline, yet is so humble towards others who also practice that skill at a lesser level, and treats them respectfully as a peer, without having an ego... It is where the highest level of respect is achieved. Those people are so rare today, and they model an important aspect of what positive influence actually looks like. Thank you for making these videos with your mom, they are inspiring.
Thank you for posting the second game. This was also a beautiful moment.
love this guy from the first time you met , so lovely to see him meet your mum & he is right he wins anyway because he gets to meet great people like you two x
I kept smiling. This video is so warm and so passionate. I love it.
I haven’t even finished the video and I freaking love this clip, probably my most favorite one of all your vids so far, just because how entertaining Johnny is and yes a very fun and awesome guy to socialize n play with it as you can see in this video, love watching these matches, ma GM is so dope to watch her play too
I love these old guys they always have some cool nicknames that never leaves and with the years it weighs with such respect and admiration that no one question it. He's the doc, the time traveler. Just brilliant! ❤
I'm absolutely in love with how proud Anna is of her mom
I am not a chess player but stumbled upon your videos. What a wonderful interaction with Johnny! I've watched 3 videos with him, one with Anna only and two others with Mom. This is so enjoyable to see the kind people interactions that are brought through these videos and specifically what you have brought to Johnny. Your videos show how engaging chess is and what you provide certainly goes far beyond chess! Thank you!
I've got to say I've stumbled across your videos. I've never been more interested and intrigued by chess. And the video before made me emotional. The passion with in this man is amazing, but your mother is a darling.
Anna keep bringing Johnny back into your stream. You’re going to make him famous. AND he deserves it. He’s got a very big heart! Go Johnny go! Johnny be good! 🎶
I'm not a chess player, but I really really enjoyed watching. So fun and wholesome.

Likewise! I admire people who can play well. Planning ahead isn’t my strong suit. I may have to go there to meet him.

I love watching these Anna chess videos. They are such fun. She exudes light and her laughter is like music.
She is so humble and calm!! I love her personality ✨🌷
That was so adorable to watch. I feel in my gut this guy rarely gets compliements so it was really nice of you both to tell him his teaching was great and fun. I felt really fulfilled when you did this. All of you're fantastic and I hope you'll meet somewhen again as he wished🥰
