Punjabis have always supported Diljit dating back atleast 5 years. It's the hindi belt fascination for punjabi artists notably Diljit which changed recently.

ਮੈਂ ਕੀ ਤੇਰੇ ਪੱਟ ਲਏ ਗੂੰਗਲੋ (ਅਧਯੇ ਦਾ ਨਸ਼ਾ ਚੜ ਗਿਆ) ਗੀਤ ਜਿਸ ਸਾਰੇ ਗਾਣੇ ਵਿਚ ਇਕ ਔਰਤ ਦੇ ਸਰੀਰ ਦੀ ਬਣਤਰ ਦੇ ਦਸੀ ਜਾ ਰਹੀ ਓਥੇ ਗੂੰਗਲੋ ਸਬਜ਼ੀ ਦੀ ਤਾਂ ਗੱਲ ਹੋ ਨਹੀਂ ਰਹੀ ਫ਼ਿਰ ਔਰਤ ਦੇ ਸਰੀਰ ਨਾਲ਼ ਗੂੰਗਲਿਆ ਦਾ ਕੀ ਅਰਥ ਬਣ ਰਿਹਾ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਆਪ ਸਭ ਹਿਸਾਬ ਲਗਾ ਲਓ। ਅਜੇ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਮੈਂ ਇਕ ਹੀ ਗੀਤ ਸੁਣਿਆ ਏ ਏਨਾ ਗੰਦ ਤੌਬਾ। ਗੁਰਦਾਸ ਮਾਨ ਦੇ ਦੌਰ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਘਰ ਵਾਲ਼ੇ ਗੀਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਨ ਸੁਣਨ ਦਿਦੇ ਕਿਉੰਕਿ ਗੀਤਾਂ ਦਾ ਪੱਧਰ ਨੀਵਾਂ ਡਿੱਗ ਚੁੱਕਿਆ ਸੀ, ਏ ਗਲ਼ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਘੜ ਚ ਆਮ ਸੀ ਉਸ ਸਮੇਂ ਜੈ ਨਹੀਂ ਤਾਂ ਅਮਰਿੰਦਰ ਗਿੱਲ ਨੇ ਖੁਦ ਇਕ interview ਚ ਕਿਹਾ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਘਰਦੇ ਗੀਤ ਸੁਣਨ ਦੀ ਆਗਿਆ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਕਿਉੰਕਿ ਉਸ ਵੇਲ਼ੇ ਦੇ ਗੀਤ ਸਹੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਨ। ਫ਼ਿਲਮਾਂ ਜਾ ਗਾਣੇ ਜਿੰਦਗੀ ਤੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਅਸਰ ਪਾਉਂਦੇ ਨੇ, ਪਰ ਜੈ ਫ਼ਿਰ ਵੀ ਸਭ ਨੂੰ ਲਗਦਾ ਏ ਕਿ ਠੀਕ ਏ ਤੇ ਫ਼ਿਰ ਸੁਣੀ ਜਾਉ ਪਰ ਘਰ ਚ ਜਦੋਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਛੋਟੀ ਉਮਰ ਦੀ ਧੀ ਭੈਣ ਉਸਦਾ ਮਤਲੱਬ ਪੁੱਛ ਲਿਆ ਤਾਂ ਫ਼ਿਰ ਗਲ਼ ਚ ਵਲ੍ਹ ਨਾ ਪਾਇਉ ਸਹੀ ਅਰਥਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਮਝੀਓ। ਕੋਈ ਨਵ ਵਿਆਹੀਆ ਜੌੜਾ ਜੈ ਬੱਚੇ ਨੂੰ ਜਨਮ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਤਾਂ ਪੀੜੀ ਅੱਗੇ ਵਧਾਉਂਦਾ ਪਰ ਉਹੀ ਕੰਮ ਜਦੋਂ ਕੋਈ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਆ ਵਿਵਹਿਤ ਕਰਦਾ ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਚਰਿੱਤਰ ਹੀਣ ਅਖਵਾਂਦਾ ਕਿਰਿਆ ਤਾਂ ਦੋਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਇਕ ਹੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਪਰ ਇਕ ਨੇ ਮਰਯਾਦਾ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਕੀਤੀ ਦੂਜੇ ਨੇ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਆਪਣਾ ਠਰਕ ਲਈ ਕੀਤੀ ਏ ਫਰਕ , ਏਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਮਨਾਂ ਚ ਜੋ ਵੀ ਚਲਦਾ ਏ ਜ਼ਰੂਰੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਲ ਕੇ ਆਉਣਾ ਕੁਝ ਗਲਾਂ ਪਰਦੇ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਹੀ ਠੀਕ ਲਗਦੀਆਂ ਏ। ਏਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਚਮਕੀਲੇ ਤੇ ਬਾਕੀ ਗੀਤਕਾਰਾਂ ਚ ਫ਼ਰਕ ਏ ਹਾਂ ਅੱਜ ਕਈ ਗਯੋਨ ਵਾਲ਼ੇ ਨੇ ਜੋਂ ਬਹੁਤ ਭਦਾ ਗਾ ਰਹੇ ਨੇ, ਹਾਂ ਉਹ ਗੀਤਕਾਰ ਸੀ ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਰ ਤੇ ਤਾਲ ਮੇਲ ਪਤਾ ਸੀ ਪਰ ਉਹ ਚੰਗਾ ਇਨਸਾਨ ਕਦੀ ਵੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ।
