Stephen and the audience not interrupting with questions or applause while the guest is taking their time trying to say something even tho they have a set time limit on how long they can be on the show shows great integrity and understanding of everyone who's involved in producing and watching it. It's like drinking a fine red wine. Always love watching guests with Stephen.

I had a long talk with my Mom about this, a few years back, when hers died. She made the point that 'back then, there wasn't a choice.' It was what you were supposed to do, and if you didn't marry, have kids, and center your whole life around that... you were ostracized. Maybe not overtly, but you were certainly whispered about. Even if you medically couldn't have kids, it was seen as a moral failing, and YOUR fault... not your husbands, to be certain! My Mom wasn't always the best one, but she did the best she could, despite never having wanted it... trying to 'do the right thing', because no other path seemed possible. Gotta respect that. I do wish she'd been able to be who she wanted to be, though. She was impressive enough to us just as a Mom... I can only imagine what she'd have accomplished in a 'different time'.

In the Denzel Washington interview the audience seemed to clap at inappropriate times. I think witnessing his grief made them uncomfortable, and they had to fill the silence with something other than their own introspective thoughts. Here, each silence is filled with thoughts of our mothers and the love we shared with them. The audience hung on every word Mrs. Gyllenhaal had to share. I hope her movie does well.

I had a very minor role but was able to see his process from casting through filming, and he ran a tight ship. Maggie comes from a movie family and I've long felt that it would make sense for her to try her hand at directing. She just seems to have all of the tools for it, both intrinsic (intelligence, perspective, assertiveness, etc.) and superficial (fame, connections, marketability, etc.). This film looks great and I look forward to seeing what she has to offer as a director.

I absolutely loved young-Leda and Leda of the film. They were so synonymous. The young-Leda stole the show for me. Loved her.

This is the difference between Stephen Colbert and all of the others. Its entertainment yes, but its intelligent. He respects his guests as people , not the "celebrity" .

I've always liked Maggie, from her first performances. I saw her live on stage once. (She's really, really tall.) But after seeing this, my respect for her has gone through the roof. This film is beautiful and brutal, searingly honest yet somewhat mysterious. Pure cinema, in a way no other film this Oscar season has been.

Parents receive no training to take on the responsibilities of parents. They have to succeed as best they can.

In a perfect world, we should have mandatory programs where both parents of one baby should have to take at least a month of classes every year as to how to take care of a child in every different stage when he is growing till the age of 18 or more , like a guide to provide support for such child in whatever way that child is developing him/her/themselves . But we are still far away from that level of evolution .

Yes..a lot more in depth. But we are still too far from that level, we are still considered cavemans compared to the level we can actually achieve as a human species. 1000 or 10 thousand years from now , they will laugh at us and wonder how the hell we all survived like we do now .

Well, I've been talking for YEARS about parenting classes & its bizarre to me that we don't have that outside of voluntary classes. I became the parent I am because I knew I didn't know anything & sought help.
