I'm sure this house is extremely expensive due to its location, but it just feels so normal and not excessive, warm and lovely.

What I love about this is you can see they've communicated and collaborated on it, and they haven't rushed it. Its really cool to see them create together

i agree with the OP, this isnt flexing your money in the sense of flashy, gaudiness some people with money can be.

Can't help thinking there is harmony in that family; nice warm voices and demeanors. I like the fact they are not obsessed to have all things color-coordinated... all posh or white/light colored. The house interior seems very warm and cozy.

They are such a perfect couple, even with their tastes with their home. What a match. And the fact they both work in Hollywood. How brave, how smart. I wish them nothing but happiness and joy.

@@becca2938 It's no a point of abusive, it's dismissive. He never held it close; held it at a distance and quite awkwardly as if he didn't have a clue or a care about handling a cat. And if a cat means anything to you, you don't just DROP it on the floor like a piece of garbage. It's all in the body language. Methinks it was rescued just so they could say "Oh, look, we have a rescue!"

I love the fact they consider how comfortable their house would be to host guests, and how many people they could have sleeping over. Growing up with a big Asian family my mum always considered that in mind, we would constantly have our cousin's staying over for the holidays and making sure there was enough space for people to sleep was super important.

Of all the celebrity homes featured by AD, this is my personal favorite, because it shows characters and feels like those people actually live and entertain in this house. Many LA homes are like for catered parties only - all the designs would be just for show. But this house, you can tell that the owners actually enjoy the rooms and every little things are hand picked.

WARM and COZY...a reflection of two brilliant actors. LOVE THEM...

So true!!! There are all kinds of shelters and rescue efforts for dogs but not cats. I have rescued so many over the years and just rescued two little brothers that were found on the side of the road that someone had dumped out. I live in south and couldnt resist naming them Rambo and Gunner ...LOL ..Gunner is a hunter and loves to play Rambo is the lover and just wants to be loved. I wouldnt take a million dollars for my other cat Sumo that I have had for 10 years. He has saved my life. I use to have these frequent seizures and he would alert me about 10 or 15 min before the happened and I would take my meds prevented the episode to be worse. He knew just by the change in my heart rate and would climb up in my lap and start pressing on my chest as if to get my heart to beat correctly. He is also a rescue cat. Bless you for taking an interest in cats!

You can tell this house is based off of their personality and I love seeing that in a home. Is it my style? Unfortunately not but hey to each their own! They have to live in it not me haha.

Such a lovely home, I love that they have tried to restore whatever they could and add their own layer to it.

drownsoda it simply amazes me how people totally ignore air pollution. All those wood burning fireplaces. If all the neighbours did that it would rical air quality of Bejing. I am surprised it is allowed in the city. montreal is going smokeless. Has to before we all suffocate.......

@@michellebadillo7574 Cabins are in the middle of the forest without air pollution. Same can't be said for NYC, with a dense population. Middle of nowhere vs. urban area.

Rox E thanks Rox E. i agree. Watched another episode with Liev Schreiber and he put in a wood burning FP as well. He even jokes that he put something in incorrectly and the smoke billows in the room if you open the glass doors. And he shows us on the video. I am sorry but this needs to end. He is in NYC as well. Again ban the things in cities that are large.....

I couldn't get over the fact the cat had this ”Help Me, these people are crazy!” look on it's face both times they showed him. Both funny and scary at the same time. That's a really busy looking house with so many colors and things in it. Hard to tell what some of it would look like empty. Hard to tell how much space there is or not. Did they even show the kitchen? Can't remember seeing it.

Nothing really goes together and it seems cold. Compare it to SJP's brownstone "Vogue 73 Questions". Much more character and light.

Somehow this made me relook at these two with more respect. Nearly every other celebrity on this AD series has homes that feel so far removed from my simple life that they just feel ALIEN. But these guys, man, their home just felt pretty normal, and the deeper into it the more cozy and sublime the place became. That dark den is way better than our dark den! I adore their "rich"(as someone else called it) DIY.

I love the way this house is put together -- to live in not to show off. Some beautiful furniture, details and art, but with a seating plan designed for comfort and shelves and tables that hold practical things as well as some collectibles. Warm and inviting. But please, Sargaard, stop dropping that cat like that.

It’s quite normal to „drop“ a cat like that. You don’t hurt them at all that way. With other pets such as dogs it’s different, you have to be more gentle. If you have cats you will know what I mean ;)

@@unfabulouslyfabulousI'm not a vet and all of you may be right. Clearly, Sarsgaard loves that kitty. My perspective comes from years of living with cats (including senior cats). I know they can jump from and even fall from heights without getting hurt. But I figure anybody, even a cat, needs a little warning to properly get their feet under them and suddenly being dropped seems careless. I may be overly sensitive having been dropped unexpectedly by dance partners. Even when it's not far and to my feet, it can be painful.

Their place actually looks lived in unlike most of these vids.

Love their house!! It has so much love and character. It seems like they have a great relationship.

4:17 Cat - "Help me."

This has to be by far one of my favourite AD famous person houses! So warm and genuine. Other celebs can learn a thing or two from Maggie and Peter.

Nothing seems warm about this house.

Although the overall decor is not necessarily to my taste, this is one of my fav Open Door videos because they're two of the best actors around and they're so chill and real. Their house reflects that- it's very unpretentious, cozy and them. Fav room is the garden level kitchenThere's something very comforting about watching their tour.

I really love how efficient a townhouse uses its space. It’s not too big. It’s not too small.

The entry and family roommate giving me memories of Miranda's Brooklyn house in the later seasons of Sex and the City.

Maggie looks so much like Annette Bening here.

Of love their calmness, and the kitchen was great.

I love this couple. Great actors in their own right but they are so in tune with each other - they finish each others sentences. Thats a good sign. I believe they are soulmates - it shows in their eclectic home

I adore this house, so many books and so welcoming and down to earth

“I played the theremin in a movie” I love that call back to Frank!! One of my favourite movies. Also nice nano garden!
