Will Scrudato That's exactly what I was thinking! Either they didn't realize what was happening or they are super calm! I would've panicked big time! Especially if I had my child with me or any child! I would've instantly been thinking how we would get out of that harness if we started to go under. Or what if the wind had picked them back up! Just..."Wow"...is all I have to say. Scary.

Lots of credit to the rescue team but also these ladies for keeping their cool. On another point, that water is absolutely beautiful!

Parasailing was a great experience for my son and I! Especially when your up in the air viewing sharks below you. You guys did great keeping calm. You were shark bait while dragging through the water😱

I'm guessing it snapped on the winch as it was pulling you in. Still, a very scary experience. I try to avoid anything like this when in Mexico as they have limited safety protocols or regulations.

what's the procedure if the rope breaks because I did it once but I don't remember the instructions?

I too suffered the same fate last year on my visit to Thailand... Wish I had seen this video before trying para sailing.. I wouldnt have attempted it.. My rope didn't break, but while coming down, they left ne off near to the edge of the rock, and I had no place to run and stop... I landed directly into the water.. It was very scary... No boats to rescue ne... Luckily I was near the rock and the helper had caught the rope of the parachute.. They send a ladder down.. But it was difficult for me to climb up, due to the water pressure and waves..After some time, they sent a rescue boy dosn the ladder who managed to help me up the ladder.. Guys plz don't try parasiling in Thailand... Not safe

I little scary, but rarely would anyone be killed or seriously injury in that type of line break situation. They had on life jackets - as is required. The life lifeguards and others were fairly quick to see what happened and you saw several boats show up quickly as well. I'd have been more worried if the line snapped while up 500 feet in the air. While the chute would still work, someone inexperienced can drift in the wind and they might end up landing somewhere bad - like smack into the side of a building or land on a roadway or in trees...etc. Not good.

OK SO I WOULD NEVER DO THIS THINK OF SHARKS BOIIIIIS

A girl I attended HS with, back in the 1960's, was killed doing this very thing. I believe her rope broke at altitude though and she fell to her death. I've flown in fighter jets, I've piloted sail planes and lived a reckless life as a young man, but I never, ever had the desire to parasail. You have no control of anything.

I've gone parasailing 5 times at different places and no troubles, but now you know why you need to wear a floatation jacket. It appears they were being pulled backwards by the wind. In that situation I way have undone the clips, got free and sacrificed the canopy.

I did this in cancun, it was the scariest things I've done in my life.

Mom says not one word. No instruction or word of reassurance, NADA. Kid was hilarious!

So did they even know they weren’t even supposed to land in the water? Or is that how they do it there and then it broke? When I did this in the Bahamas, we went off from a boat and landed back down feet first into the boat

If this ever happens to you, unhook right away once you touch the water. We were in Cozumel and didn't have any jetskis around, thank goodness our rope didn't break

What the heck happened, that looked pretty freaky in the water

I did this in Virginia Beach and I saw some sea life bc we went far out like a sting ray with fish other ppl saw dolphins we saw them jumping on the boat also some ppl saw groups of string rays and someone saw a sea turtle that would suck if that happened that far in the ocean
