It is a fact of war that- where possible- equipment and supplies will be captured and almost certainly be reused against their original owner. This was the case on the Eastern Front during the Second World War; many Soviet and German tanks found their way into opposing armies. Both sides would experiment with replacing the main guns of captured vehicles with domestic models, meaning they wouldn’t need to rely upon captured stockpiles of ammunition. Today we’re going to look at one such example that never made it off the drawing board; the T-V-85, a Panther mounting a Soviet 85mm gun.

Gajin would do better with it. This would just be another stupid wanna be DPM machine. Why do we need another panther variant that’ll probably be worse then all those to come before? It doesn’t need to be better, but this will just be worse. With the ability to one shot, this would fit better in War Thunder. In a game with HP bars and to much RNG, we both know they’ll put this stupid thing in with like 1200 hp, 10 rounds a minute 180 damage a shot, like .35-.38 accuracy aaaaannnnddd… that’s about it. Mobility won’t be special, armor will mean nothing…. Yeah, it would just suck in WoT

@@DS-wl5pk War Thunder has even more RNG and even more pay to win than WoT. Just look at the aiming system. WoT at least approximately tells you the general area where your shell is gonna go. War Thunder does no such thing, the shells just fly wherever. And if you want to have a good crew, you just have to pay with real money.

I've read that soviets tried to put Panther's wheels on T-34 in case if there would be no spare T-34 wheels. They fit after slight modification, but tests have shown that they break quite quickly

The issue there is the number of road wheels. The Panther ones overlap, so there are 8 of them, per side, compared to the T34 with 5, and hence each supports less weight.
