Gotta love how the American trailer for Pans Labyrinth does its best to hide the fact that its a foreign language film.

She is so adorable, not over confident and cheesy like most kid actors nowadays, she seems really genuine.

I love this man. His creativity, imagination, his point of view. I actually agree with what he says. Pan's Labyrinth is the best movie I've ever seen. Thank you xx Ps. I teach foreign children English and it is remarkable how they pick the language and loose their accent. The younger the child is the quicker looses the accent. I started to speak English in my thirties and it was harder for me to loose the accent than it was for my students as their tongues are still 'forming'. Children are remarkable.

It's amazing how well she speaks english. If you listen to her today, you would never suspect that english is her second language

@@indomiepanggang4258 they are not. Catalan has a lot in common with french and Spanish. As a Spanish speaker I can read Catalan (with a bit of trouble) but I can't speak or hear it properly

I’m baffled!!! I just saw the movie in Spanish (which also was my first viewing shamefully enough). But I can’t believe how good Ivana’s English is and how mature she appears here for her age 😳😳😳 Incredible Director, movie and cast I loved it all 😍

The whole cast gave us a most impressive performance! I admire and Guillermo for his mind so incredible and incredible visionary man. Very spirited, passionate visionary. Ivana an amazing actress. I want to point out and make special mention to the most astounding performance by Sergi Lopez in his portrayal of the Captain.

I've been watchinh Shannara Chronicles and always wondered whh she is very familiar. now i know why!

Two very clever people.

It's funny she says that Peter Pan is her favorite fairytale because after watching Pan's Labyrinth, I actually had an idea for a movie that had a Peter Pan meets Chronicles of Narnia type of movie that had a dark, eerie and intense tone like Pan's Labyrinth but not as brutal or disturbing as PL. Something on a PG-13 level rather than a R-Rated level but still makes parents question themselves when they see the trailer "Should I or should I not take my child to see this?". The story would be set in late 19th century London, England where a 13 year old girl and her little brother meet a young elven/winged boy who takes them to a dream-like fantasy world where they encounter many perils and dangerous foes.

FLASHBACK! When people told themselves the Past with Stories. Fortold the Future with stories. The best place by the fire was kept for The Storyteller.

This is rather interesting, but I find the dynamic of director/actress very strange for an interview setting like this. Especially when Del Toro answers questions that are clearly not meant to be understood by an eleven year old, but he phrases it to her anyway. Fascinating, though.

The fairytale Guillermo mentioned is a lot darker than he said here.... maybe he didn't wanted to scared this little girl more than he already did lol

del toro is an artist with a capital A and her English is amazing

She went to an American school in Barcelona so she speaks Spanish, English and Catalan! Not bad for a Spaniard :P
