A pallet wood guitar isn't super revolutionary, but this one is special because it's mine. The body is made from a lamination of some amazing looking pallet wood including cherry, oak, maple, mahogany, pine, alder, poplar, and probably a few other species. The blank for the body was something that I made in my shop and then brought it to my buddy Tim where he showed me how to turn it into a guitar and I helped a little bit. The body was shaped with a CNC and branded with a laser engraver and then the organic shapes were carved by hand. The neck of the guitar is one that we reclaimed from another guitar, did we take the easy way out? Yes, but I never do that so I figure this is my chance for once! Also, Tim said that he always recommends with anyone's first guitar build they should just buy a pre-made neck and then if you make another one (and you will), then try building the entire thing from scratch that time.

Look man... I'll say it... I hated wood projects till I/we found your channel. You bring creative spark and passion back to this (what I considered) dead art. I have a new found joy and respect for wood art and projects. It is because of you... thank man. I would have missed out on an entire world of creative.

Very cool. I'm currently spending big on building my woodworking/music studio/cars-in-a-hurricane-only garage. I notice the CNC machine... I want the CNC machine. But very cool build, and so much better looking than I had expected. Are there pallets made of something other than scrub pine? I saw another video from a guy in Norway who started building wine boxes from pallets and went on to make beautiful art with wood... I can see some fun with pallets in my future.
Goals!
Super cool collaboration! Using the record for the cavity covers is such a cool idea...wish I had thought of that one!

@@JackmanWorks My ex-brother-in-law is a luthier working in acoustic instruments, who typically gets $10K-$25K for a guitar or other instrument. Tragically, he and my sister split before I got, if not that really great birthday present, at least the family discount. Sister Harmony still has her Tony Sutherland guitar!
Magnífico!!Parabéns 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏🌳🌱🌿
Cool, Even though I will never have those machines to do the work I still enjoyed watching.I will check out Tims channel.
Awesome Build! you should enter into the pallet upcycle challenge this august!
Freebird !!! That was a great project..
Awesome as always... question... when you laminate, do you thin the glue or is it the roller ( ordering one either way) that allows the glue to flow like that. I laminated a workbench and the glue was not easily spread. I used a silicone brush.

I was looking to see if a neck could be made from a pallet and be strong enough.... Guess I'm just going to have to risk building an unusable neck to get my answer since it seems everyone that's made a guitar from anything used a prefabricated neck and not the same material as the body.
Lovely final result. When can we hear you play?
