Converting an old wet pallet into an electric guitar!
I'm 12 years old and my school music teacher set me some homework. The task was to make a musical instrument out of recycled materials.
My dad has a few old wet, battered pallets and a workshop, so I took over his space for a week of after school building. He helped me work out how to make it. He used the dangerous tools like the circular saw for me, although I did get to use the band saw, router, drill, sanders and other tools. I also used the Japanese hand saw, a spoke shave and other tools I have never used before.
This will be handed in next week for my homework assignment.
I hope you like it. It still needs a bit more sanding to make it perfect and once it has been to school we will take it apart and varnish it, so it is nice and shiny.

Thanks 😉 He's grown a lot since this video - but something he will always remember.
Well done lad. As a carpenter of some 40 years now it makes me happy to see someone enthusiastic about joinery and wood working. Should you make another guitar body like this again, one little piece of advice from me would be to run the wood strip the length of the body rather then vertically. This would simply give you a stronger piece of material overall to work with. But great job young man. Keep at it 👍👍
I hope to do this with my daughter, and we DON'T play guitar! But I want to learn and inspire my daughter to create and "reduce, reuse, recycle! Paw Patrol on a roll!"
We were dying to hear it plugged in!!!!!!!
Nice project guys! well done🍻
Awesome dude that's really awesome
Pretty good I just watched this video on a different account and I’m kinda trying to build my own guitars and all that like I built a cigar box guitar recently and all I need is strings for it so good work and I hope to see more guitar type projects and all that

Very nice guitar. Congratulations on your skill.
Excellent job mate
Great work guy's
We’ll done! At a young age it’s great to see you building things. Both with wood and the electrical components. Awesome!! Did you stain it or give the wood some protection?

Thanks!
Amazing. If you're doing this now, you're going places.
😁👏👏👏 perfeito!!
Next time, skip the wet rag and let the glue dry. Once the glue dries, it won't cause stain marks like smear wet glue does. But great work

Will do ;) it was literally everywhere. The clamps would be a permanent fixture ;)
I thought this was the coolest thing ever. I have loads of pallets and would love to try something like this....just one question... did you put a truss rod in the neck? If you did, how did you go about it?

Thanks. We made a lot of mistakes - but we had fun doing it. We did - just ran a router down it - inserted a bought truss rod and then mounted fret board on top.
