MMMMMMM maps. If I could marry one, I would. This is my interpretation of a topographic map. It's built up from strips of reclaimed pallet wood glued up into sticks 5 layers thick. Each of these sticks is 1" wide and follows the topographic profile of the state of Vermont at each 1" section. I have to be honest with you though, I call it a pallet wood map, but really it's 90% wood glue, 10% pallet wood, and 100% reason to remember my name.

Why did I have to read this before that point in the video? Now I know something like that is coming and I don't know if I would have made it otherwise. Okay, now that I have seen it I can now confirm I would absolutely have not made it through without laughing had I not known.
The best and most fun woodworking channel on YT. Great project, great videography and great humor. Thanks for making my day a bit sunnier.
This was even cooler when you mentioned on IG that it was actually topographically accurate. Fun to see the whole thing done. Thanks for sharing!
From the discovery of the pallet utopia, to the Steven Spielberg-like cinematography, to the stunt doubles that somehow look just like you, it all came down to the beautiful brush strokes and the name of your varnish - "Lust". Oh, thanks for blurring the little appendage that Vermont doesn't like to admit :) All seriousness, you crack me up and take what could be a boring view for some and make it so entertaining.
A man has never been happier to see pallets. And we've never been happier to see X-Carve bring those pallets to life in this cool project!
thanks for share, great idea!
Man, I've gotta say, I'm not sure whether the video editing or the project was better. Both very well done! Your humor is A1. Cheers bro!
Looks great Paul, awesome work on the video as well! 😃👍🏻👊🏻
Stellar. Glad to see you're practicing safe finishing by wearing protection before applying the Lust...
Saw your cleat storage space video first then this one auto played right after - I LOVE IT! You crack me up 😂 and your work is AWESOME! Thanks for sharing.
this is just gorgeous, the build, the video, the way you edit it all, ... I'm subscribing because of this video
Beautiful! Love your style and whimsy! Peace and Good Fortune to you and your family.
I love your videos and editing style!! You're hilarious and create awesome content. ❤❤👍🏽💯🔥
The GOAT everybody. Takes pallet wood which everybody has been using for half thought out designs, and CNC’s which people have been using for mass producing 1 or 2 items, and then he literally shows you the most intense and creative things you never could have imagined in your life. Some people are happy doing dados on their table saw and calling themselves craftsman, and then this guy does all this extra stuff because it’s fun to him. What a champ.

That’s dope I would love one of Oregon.
You freakin rock! Thank you for such great content.
I just started using pallet wood for shop furniture (cabinet and drawer fronts, etc). I can't believe some of the beautiful hardwoods that I find in pallets, all for free because they are dropped off at my loading dock every week. It's like a box of chocolates, though, you never know what you're gonna get. Sometimes it's oak (OAK!), sometimes it's just pine or redwood. Once I milled down some big pieces only to find out they were poplar. Stuff that gets messed up during pallet dismantling ends up in the firewood boxes, since we do a lot of camping. I love pallets!
@JackmanWorks
5 жыл бұрын
Yes! So much good stuff in there. I was hoping that I could make each layer here a different species so that each strip was the same, but I just had too much variation in the species of pallets wood that I got haha
You don't need to defend using a CNC. People who can't understand why you'd use such an awesome tool should just keep it to themselves. They hold a double standard. If they wanna ditch the CNC, then I hope they ditch all power tools. Love your videos Paul! Your personality and sense of humour keep me laughing while you make great stuff.
@JackmanWorks
5 жыл бұрын
I just put that clip in there so when I got a hater I could just comment with that timecode. I have yet to have someone complain about the CNC in the comments of this video though so it hasn't been as useful as I hoped lol
Cool stuff man. Good job, as always!

Dude, you too funny... I love your vids, Thanks
You never fail to make woodworking comical.
I am new to woodworking and KZread has been great for learning and such. However your channel is a true inspiration. You are a god!..... I do have a question on all your board preping. You run all your pallet boards thru a planner and was wondering how "you" are dealing with the snipe? it looks like you dont need to take that into consideration?
@JackmanWorks
5 жыл бұрын
I run multiple boards through at a time so it helps a ton, it's almost like it's one long board as long as you don't stop feeding boards through
I love that cinematography
Nice idea with the keyhole joints. Did you by the finish just because it was called lust?
omg i love your videos.... hows the head?
Interesting project. I love your humor. That video must have taken a month of editing.
Hi Paul, great build! What did you do with the offcuts? (from when you used a bandsaw after CNCing the elevation)

Great work again. It's it won't for me to mention Frank Howarth? I've got huge respect for both of you, great woodworking 👍🏼👍🏼
Department of the Inter-web, Mental Health division, Extreme Torture department. Dear Mr. Jackman, I have been watching your videos for quite some time now. I have to say the level of self loathing you display is surpassed by none in all of KZread. I can only imagine what wrongs you must think you have committed to continue to abuse yourself in this manner. Surely there is no one who could actually enjoy all the labor involved with finding, loading, unloading, disassembling, de-nailing, planing, cutting, gluing, cutting, gluing... oh God it hurts it hurts, I can't even go on. Please take some time to love yourself, no, not like that. LOL Seriously though, thank you for the hours of entertaining videos, the wonderful new take on woodworking, your silly sense of humor, and the Iso tunes PRO (love them).
