2nd October 2023 Hi Brandon. This video popped up here today and I'm very glad it did.The opening shot of you with a simple one light set up on a C stand told me you had the experience of knowing what kit to use, and when to use it, on an otuside location. Using a 105mm lens (which is a real old school focal length) was further confrimation of your abilities. It's a wonderful lens that's under used by many. Hopefully, people watching will give it a try. Plus, using the 35mm worked perfectly for the picture you were creating, helped greatly by having, Sarah, as your model who you had a good rapport with (which goes a long way to getting good results) You explained your techniques and thought processes in a way that was easy for people to understand and I'm sure it was beneficial to many of your viewers. Your efforts, under those conditions, were rewarded with wonderful pictures Have a good start to your week from here in London.
Dude! You're photos are 'blow my mind' great!!
You're looking great man! I can tell you been working out 💪 Also sick pics man love em

At the end of the day, no matter what anyone says about you or what you do, "skills speaks!!!".
There is something about shooting a beautiful woman, and really making shots that she is thrilled over and do her justice. She may have many of them, but in the years to come, she will treasure them more and more. One day she might be showing them to her grandkids, or even great grandkids, telling them “see? Back in the day, your grandma had it going on!”😂 Many of them may be kept through generations, even after you are gone….. that is the reward of photography, you leave them with a tiny piece of yourself, through the pictures you create…😊
Looks Good!! Im digging this format.

Local 757!!!! Great stuff sir. Appreciate all the product reviews and sharing all of your shoot results. Keep up the killer content! I’m an in house videographer / photographer / marketing guy and we just switched from canon to Sony. I mostly shoot product shots and lifestyle content. So far I’m loving the results from the Sony. Only issue seems to be getting used to the EVF, as our A7r V seems to produce darker than expected images, even when viewing the histogram and levels. JPG preview looks great but raw looks underexposed, even when using zebras. I’m wondering if you encountered this on the A7 and if you were able to correct it. Thanks for any help you can offer. P.s. This Virginia weather is bananas this year . Hot, rainy, cool, rainy, sunny. That was Tuesday 😂
@BrandonColePhotography

Absolutely the weather. I have not encountered anything like that on my A1 or A7RV. That’s the thing about having mirrorless, seeing exactly what the shot will look like.

There's no need for expensive photography equipment if you have a model like this. You can even take a photo of this girl on an iPhone, and she will still look amazing 🙂

Question: if your shooting at 1.2, how is she not blurry in some areas?
@BrandonColePhotography
10 ай бұрын
Well she is a little. Like legs, thighs. The lower parts are out of focus the most of times but you can fix that even at 1.2 in post

Look into Hyperfocal distance/DoF, it will explain why you can shoot wide open at low apertures & still get a lot of the subject in sharp focus.

You ever shoot with the Sony 135?
@BrandonColePhotography
10 ай бұрын
Yes sir, you can see that Sigma and the Sony 135 in my earliest videos. Its a great lens but for my taste, its a waste of investment as there are more drawbacks then good. Its a speciality lens that you will only use for 1 or 2 shots but you are so disconnected from your model and there is no flexibility.
@nathanielmartin6631
10 ай бұрын
@@BrandonColePhotography hey man thanks for relying! The algorithm recommended your channel to me so I subscribed a few weeks ago. Love your videos! I do have the 135 now and I see you with the 105 1.4 a lot and your shots are dope as hell. Aside from being disconnected from your model which I agree with, Can you elaborate more on the drawbacks? Just curious to hear your opinion. I may put the 135 up for sale and pick up the sigma as I get more into portrait photography.
@BrandonColePhotography
10 ай бұрын
@@nathanielmartin6631 besides being disconnected, since the 135 is a prime it restricts the ability to get a different composition. If you move to close it doesn’t look right. You are locked in at 135. You have to stay back and can’t move anywhere but side to side. Unlike the 135, the 105 still gives you that crazy distance shot with amazing bokeh but you can move much closer and create different images.
🙂🙂🙂🙂
Everybody knows that if you lay down $10,000.00 on camera gear you become a professional photographer just like that! LOL
@BrandonColePhotography
10 ай бұрын
Well unfortunately but any real photographer will tell you it’s about more then just a camera. You can go out and spend 10k on a camera right now. Doesn’t mean you will produce incredible images. You still have to possess the knowledge of lighting, flash, posing, composition and so much more. So yea learn the basics first

@@BrandonColePhotography I was joking and being a bit facetious. So many of these videos put the emphasis on the latest camera bodies and lenses and not the art of photography. I miss the 35mm film days when the playing field was even.
@BrandonColePhotography
10 ай бұрын
@@Man_Cave I agree. If I do a review on a camera it's only because it fits my work flow but I am quick to tell anyone based on their needs, if it will work for them or not. I see a lot of photographers doing exactly what you stated.
@Man_Cave
10 ай бұрын
@@BrandonColePhotography I know the emphasis is so much on the gear anymore that I always tell people who buy the latest camera body that they better hope they can make it as a pro photographer because otherwise they will go broke. Years ago, only the cost of the lenses and lighting were the struggle to stay afloat. Today, it is so much more expensive and complicated to work your way into Pro photography. It is very discouraging for those with a natural artistic ability to be recognized. Critics examine your meta data on your photos and critique your choice of camera rather than your image alone.
why are you counting ???
