Thanks for sharing that! I didnt know that Time still hired traditional illustrators. That was always my dream. I just assumed everything was digital now. Presumably cheaper, quicker, editable. So glad to hear traditional illustrators have not been completely pushed out!!!!

This is really cool, thanks for talking about what’s on your mind while you paint. It’s heartening to know that even experienced professional artists go through a: “oh no this looks bad” phase in their painting 😂

Hey Jon! I've admired your art for a long time and have always appreciated the personality the you dictate through your pieces, as well as the vivid pop of color. your art in particular has always come off as having a very bold feeling to it as if each picture is a statement or sentence in and of itself. I've been sketching for a while but that's all I've been doing is just sketching. What would you say to someone looking to be more prolific or start to be more prolific in their art?

Appreciate the kind words! Try working in mediums you aren't comfortable with, and work with limited colors. Takes a lot of practice, so working in a sketchbook is great because anything that turns out bad never needs to be seen by anyone other than you. And making bad work is all part of the process.

Sweet I see a lot of oil painters use this approach of dragging the brush and taking their time to block in shapes , nice to see this done in acrylic

I'm NOT a painter, and I would NEVER sell anything or start a small business, so either eliminate my record or give me my disability because I will NEVER work outside of a HIGHLY educated and LIBERAL field, because Democrats don't go on insane and unprofessional rants in the workplace.
