With all this AI garbage it’s so nice to see old school mediums again in media. There’s nothing like ir

Absolutely agree!
Thanks for sharing that! I didnt know that Time still hired traditional illustrators. That was always my dream. I just assumed everything was digital now. Presumably cheaper, quicker, editable. So glad to hear traditional illustrators have not been completely pushed out!!!!

I never learned to work digitally, maybe someday ☁️☁️☁️
I hope you’re compensated greatly for your work. Your talent is incredible!
wow, thanks for sharing your process.
This is really cool, thanks for talking about what’s on your mind while you paint. It’s heartening to know that even experienced professional artists go through a: “oh no this looks bad” phase in their painting 😂
the jump from initial sketch to the mode detailed one was something else! great work !
Great old school work, keep that good work up :)
Wow for showing how you paint. I just painted 2 portraits not good but I’m still learning.

I've been following you on IG for a while, but its great to see you're on KZread!
Very nice work! Love to see traditional media in illustrations.
Cool, thanks for showing us the process. They all came out great.
This is a great video that I have watched over and over, each time gleaning new tidbits of helpful information. Thank you, and please keep 'em coming!
Loved this video! Can’t believe I just found out about you
Hey Jon! I've admired your art for a long time and have always appreciated the personality the you dictate through your pieces, as well as the vivid pop of color. your art in particular has always come off as having a very bold feeling to it as if each picture is a statement or sentence in and of itself. I've been sketching for a while but that's all I've been doing is just sketching. What would you say to someone looking to be more prolific or start to be more prolific in their art?

Appreciate the kind words! Try working in mediums you aren't comfortable with, and work with limited colors. Takes a lot of practice, so working in a sketchbook is great because anything that turns out bad never needs to be seen by anyone other than you. And making bad work is all part of the process.
Gorgeous! Awesome work! Greetings from Chile 🇨🇱
Loooove your sketches dude
Super art work
Sweet I see a lot of oil painters use this approach of dragging the brush and taking their time to block in shapes , nice to see this done in acrylic
great work!
Inspiring 🙏🏻🌿
Maravilhoso ❤❤❤
very cool,
That was beautiful.
This is great to see!
Can you Do more long form style hour long vids, i love your work !
thanks for sharing,,,god bless art
Soooo cool
Are you using guache or acrylic or both?
Thanks for sharing. Very impressive you do this by hand. I'm curious to know what happens when the art director asks for changes - i.e. "Make the persons nose smaller" or "change the shirt colour"?
you can paint over fixative?
EPIC FUN !!!
lol I want to get a sub to time just to have a print of these ❤
How did you get hired?
Hey Jon, can you share the brushes you use? I love your process and already will want to apply this in my next painting, thank you for your channel

PAINTING PORTRAITS FOR TIME MAGAZINE; START TO FINISH
Sir could you put the line sketch as pdf in the description ❤❤
I'm NOT a painter, and I would NEVER sell anything or start a small business, so either eliminate my record or give me my disability because I will NEVER work outside of a HIGHLY educated and LIBERAL field, because Democrats don't go on insane and unprofessional rants in the workplace.
