This video was mid Sep 2023. Aug will be perfect, but you will not hear the elk. I hear the fresh huckleberries are delicious, they may be ripe when you are there.

connect.garmin.com/modern/activity/12054629656?share_unique_id=9 I started near sunrise, not busy at all. Just a few other hikers to Lake Solitude. Cascade Canyon as you get closer to Jenny Lake got more crowded, but not bad. Mostly very friendly people. Took me 9 hours. Have fun!

Good question. There were quite a few hikers waiting on the other side of the moose pair and me and 2 others on my side. Everyone was just waiting for them to move along, then one dude got impatient and started hiking towards them (and me). Obviously this was too close for the moose's liking, so they came at him. My survival instincts kicked in and I ran behind a big tree asap. The bull moose passed quickly and uneventfully, but had all the hikers on alert!
