PLZ READ: Before anyone asks where this is or what trail it is that I hiked just know that I purposely left enough “hidden in plain sight clues” throughout the video for you to figure it out on your own with a little bit of research (think of it like a scavenger hunt or an Easter egg hunt hehe) ALSO: There still be tons o bots and spammer-scammers out there. Do not fall for them! I will never, would never, message a person offering or asking for money/prizes/etc or any sort of incentive to chat with me on another app/txt like telegram/whatsapp etc. (I do my best to stay on top of ‘em but it’s a waste of precious time tbh ;P)

A little tip Anna for your next hike! We have at the pharmacy some patches called false skin. Don't know if you have it there! They are transparent and you put them on before you start your trip! If you have new shoes or lightly used shoes. Put them on walk in to water and walk them dry. Then you get the shoes to mold to your feet!

Just found your channel. I am a single woman with no friends and no family who would be interested in this. But I want to go hiking and camping so badly. First time watching you...congrats on your first solo trip. You're crying not because you are a crybaby, but because doing big things, accomplishing goals, especially by yourself, is life changing. And that's emotional. And scary. And amazing. And the overwhelming emotions rise to the top that you are in the midst of accomplishing something important to you, you are in nature, surrounded by these amazing views, and you are fortunate enough to be able to do these things. That's worth tears. I've experienced that every time I've been on a solo trip. Congrats again!

Great video, thanks for sharing the ups and downs with us. One small tip I could offer, that could prevent a HUGE problem for you: DO NOT get into the habit of pouring boiling water into your hand.... Put the bag on the ground, and always pour water in a direction that is away from your body. Even into a cup for coffee, if you're holding it on the gound to steady the cup, move your hand over to the side, so if you over pour, you miss your hand or fingers. Burns would be bad in daily life, in the backcountry, injuries are even worse. Please girl, be safe.

🇬🇧 I cried like that when I marched up and camped atop the second highest Alp at 22 years old. As the sun rose over Italy, the shadows shortened in France. The Pacific Northwest is great, but your videos remind us why we love it here. This one was especially good for me because you were right where I grew up doing one of the things I still love to do, even though I am maybe closing in on three times your age. Even though I am an old man, I again find you inspiring. Life is good.

Wow if you were actually solo, then walking up for the "camera shot" then going back for the camera must have been a workout, no wonder you got blisters. Anna there is a product called Mole Skin found in foot care sections at many stores that will be your friend if your next chapter will have you hiking a lot. I took my hiking shoes and turned them upside down in a container that had fabric softener in water to make the tops of my shoes softer, the part touching the heels especially I did not soak the soles because of I did not want the glue to loosen, but after they soak a few hours, I rinsed them well and then walked in them while they were wet until they dried if they had leather. They would dry formed to my feet and they were soft while walking as well, just an old soldier trick. As you go through a few nights be sure to list things you need to make the trips safer and more enjoyable so we can help. So proud of you for taking life by the horns and making yourself so happy it causes tears. You are living the life we all want, and I am for one am happy for you.

Wow what are the chances. I came across your video while editing my own of this gorgeous hike. My fiancé and I met you on this trail as you were hiking up and us hiking down. You shared with us your backpack fitting experience, how REI helped and how it was your first solo camp. We were glad to meet you. You were so sweet and kind. Best of luck to you and all of your upcoming adventures. ❤Taryn and John

Crying in the backcountry, it happens to me all the time! Nature is so healing, seems that the stress of life combined with all the love and gratitude in your heart explode in overwhelming emotion when looking out a such beauty all around you. First solo's are special! congrats!

Makes you feel alive!! There is nothing wrong showing your emotional side. Sometimes the release alone makes us feel so much better. U are so adventurous and fun thank you so much for taking us along on this beautiful backpacking trip, look forward to what you will be up to in Canada.✌️🌻
Beautiful scenery, beautiful story, beautiful tears. Thanks for sharing Anna and thanks once again for your vulnerability. For the record, there's absolutely NOTHING WRONG with crying. Most of us could/should let those tears out more often. It's OK to feel ALL the emotions; that's what makes us human. Take care and keep living YOUR life. In gratitude, Tim
I used to backpack (not the type people seem interested in today - Baja to Canada). I'm 74 now and camp and day hike. I'm impressed by your first effort to solo. In fact, you impress me. "Go for it girl, go for it!"
The rawness and realness of your emotions throughout this is what makes me so beyond excited to do my first solo backpacking hike. You’re amazing.

So happy to see you backpacking. Really love seeing how you are branching out! What a spectacular video. Thank you for sharing your adventures!
Go get 'em, Girl! A few months ago I also went on my first solo back trip....I flew across the country to solo backpack in the Sierra Mountains. It is very empowering to say you want to do something, then go do it! It taught me that it's ok to have fears and doubts...but to still put one foot in front of the other as you walk toward your goals. This is the first video of yours I've seen, and I am so impressed. You. Are. Badass.
The Pacific Northwest is great, but your videos remind us why we love it here. This one was especially good for me because you were right where I grew up doing one of the things I still love to do, even though I am maybe closing in on three times your age. I learned to ski, later worked at the ski area where you left your van for your hike, worked for the Forest Service there on summers while going to the university. Even though I am an old man, I again find you inspiring. Life is good.

You got this “life” thing!!! I’m impressed by you and trust me, I’m an ex-military veteran and what you’re doing alone is awesome!!
I think you know that now you have to do a gear video to tell us what was in your pack! I love learning about that with all the details, like the R Value of your pad and rating of your sleeping bag, even cost and overall weight of pack, if you want to provide that. I love this video because it shows the very real side of backpacking. Everything doesn't always go perfect but you make the most of it and enjoy the beautiful scenery and everything you worked so hard for. Even when you started crying I really felt the emotion and knew that feeling, when you're out there you think of the journey and life really just hits you in that moment with everything you have going on in life in general. Mad props to you! I have never tried to backpack hike but it's really hard for me to see myself doing. I'm a very delicate being and sleep is SO important to me since I already have issues sleeping. I just don't know if I could manage camping like that. I completely understand that overwhelming gratitude you fwlt. This weekend driving out to Salt Lake for a comic con and thinking about my life brought tears to my eyes bc I was so grateful! Maybe think about packing bactene next time for any blisters? I'm not really sure unless you use second skin or put bandaids before starting the hike.
First time viewer. I really appreciate how real you are. You have great editing skills. I'm glad you left some of that stuff in. Thanks so much! can't wait to see more of your videos in the future.

Anna, I just found you and am so glad I did. You are doing what I never did but thought about often. Now I am 70 so hiking is in the past for me. But what I AM about to do is take to living in a van and become a Nomad! Man it feels good to know that is coming true this summer. Excited, you better believe it! So keep living all you can now and keep living from here on. What ever you define as living well.
This was so inspirational to watch. I've been wanting to backpack solo forever but I'm so scared. I'm one step closer towards that dream because of you. Thank you!
I absolutely loved this. The shots were amazing and you were so humble and down to earth. Very inspiring.
I cried the first time I backpacked too. That feeling of waking up with an incredible Mountain View is incredible, plus as someone also from the Midwest it can really feel surreal. Amazing video ❤
Beautiful shots! Thank you so much for carrying your heavy camera to take those shots. I love it. There is no feeling to compare to being in the mountains among natures cathedrals. No building can compare to the magnitude and awe you can feel in a mountain pass.
I think you have done a great job sharing your experience with me! So far I am the only one that know you got a little emotional on this hike? You are an awesome person!
Anna : One thing among many of which I like about you is you aren't timid about trying new things. Way too many people say I want to do something adventurous but I can't right now. Later in life they I wish I would have done it when I had the chance, Very few people ever say I wish I had never traveled or skydived . I should have just stayed home and watched travel shows on tv.

Wow you are really brave. I camped by myself for the first time at KOA and I needed help from the staff to set up my tent. Go get it! 👍

We all start somewhere--the important thing is that we just start :) I spent countless hours asking questions and spending time with workers at REI soaking up information and getting advice and help before I went out! Asking for help when you need it gets you much farther than never asking at all ;) Sending much love and all the good vibes to you
That little 'well damn' made me smile. Waking up in a gorgeous environment is what it's all about to me. Last year I had that exact feeling while waking up between mountains in Norway.
Beautiful! Thank you for sharing your hike with us. ❤
Thank you for this video. I’m going on my first solo backpacking trip soon for 3 nights and I’m so nervous and excited at the same time.
