The thing is, this isnt someones hair that can grow back. This is someones home with their precious things inside. One person had an antique cabinet from their grandma and the designer painted it a horrible green even though that was on their safe list. Theres no way they can get that back. It isnt just so simple as to paint over. The hay room hildi made took forever to fix and was a serious danger to the home owners toddlers. There were splintered frames and a bookshelf that could have tipped over onto the kid

Yes! I remember this episode. If i recall she hated green on top of that amd everything was green. She even painted some of tje decorarions she had for her wedding down in the basement. I was looking for this episode and ended up here.

Can someone explain to me how Hildi was hired to be a designer? Or what school she got her training from? Either everyone on the casting team was her extended family or they conducted phone interviews. Hildi has managed to destroy these peoples homes with her cheap and unfocused designs. When her career ends (if it hasnt already) hopefully she'll write a tell all book on how she convinced the TLC team to put her on TV despite her ugly so call designs.

She is a designer and an artist. They hired different types of people/designers for a reason. Hildi was the free spirited artist, Vern was a meticulous architect, etc. In Hildi's case, her goal wasn't to upset homeowners. She views herself as an artist first and foremost, which is why she thought of every room as a blank canvas. "I challenged myself every episode to do something to inspire people across America, and to do something I hadn't done before," she says.

These people are literally delusional

I don't think they were rare. It seem to have quite, quite, quite a few of them. Too many and too many from Hildi. She shouldn't come back.

I love Paige’s sardonic tone, which is so politically incorrect for this day and age. Had “Trading Spaces” debuted in recent years, I don’t, for that reason, think she would have been chosen as host.

You have to understand, there was never a gurantee that you were going to like the person who designed.your room orthe design itself. You knew that before you signed up. Tbey were working with a small budget and all or almost all of the designers would do those designs in advance. They got a packet with pictures of the original room, measurements, etc I can't remember how far in advance. However the homeowners really didn't get a lot of input on said design. The homeowners also knew that the show was not going to fix the room if they hated it. Paige was a host not a designer. She did her best to talk them through it but ultimately knew she would have to walk away. What is she supposed to say?

When Paige said "most of the time people liked it" and then a clip played.... Was that clip from the episode where hildi literally glued straw to their walls...? Was that clip meant to be an example of the times they go right? Because that was only a few second of their first reaction to the room, but then they were like omg there's straw stuck to the walls and were in disbelief and kinda laughing at it, and then talked about how it could be a danger to their kids and were making fun of it 😂

not really...having a cheap budget and rushed reno is never a good idea. on top of that working with wacky designers/ your friends who have never done with work before.

Paige and Hildy should both be held responsible for the disgusting choices that they made and forced on other people. It is very obvious during the episodes that Paige and a healthy were trying to get bad reactions from people because that makes for better "reality" TV. Both of them have horrible taste in everything and should never be allowed to design anything for any reason. Healthy should be forced to go back to every house that she ruined and grovel for forgiveness. I prayed broken glass finds its way into all of their shoes and can't be removed.
