@Rohan_Mehta
3 жыл бұрын
They are but they should stay all 4 years to try and get as famous as possible and also graduate. The WNBA doesn’t pay that well so growing your brand before the WNBA would help her get endorsements and make money that way. Also she won’t have enough money to life the rest of her life if she plays in the WNBA till like 35, so it’s good for her to get a degree
@sidneypratt5493
3 жыл бұрын
@@Rohan_Mehta I understand that but at the same time they aren’t getting paid shit from the NCAA over those 3-4 years. Might as well get that WNBA check (even if it’s not as much as an NBA one) and build your brand there if you’re ready. Imagine if Hailey or Paige were to have a career ending injury in college? Then what?
@Kevinschart
3 жыл бұрын
@@sidneypratt5493 the wnba check is not like hitting the lottery. NBA players can be set for life off their first contract. It's not the same for the wnba. you might as well be asking why college bowlers do leave school and go pro.
@sidneypratt5493
3 жыл бұрын
@@Kevinschart bro I’m just saying they should AT LEAST have the chance to go pro when they want. To say they can’t enter the draft until age 22 is basically forcing top talent to stay in school. Regardless of how much the WNBA pays prospects should have the chance to leave school if they’re good enough
@Kevinschart
3 жыл бұрын
@@sidneypratt5493 I agree they should have the option. I'm usually against these kinds of restrictions, but in this case it may actually be the best for the women. I think it's a development thing. I highly doubt any high school female is ready to play professional ball. They just haven't seen enough competition to to be effective at that level. Look at how Paige ran through an actual college team. Even at the college level the talent is pretty shitty. Keep in mind the NFL also won't let your join until you're 3 years out of high school. This is purely a physical maturation requirement. I think you're fixed on the age thing though. They are basically saying we want to see you perform in college before we'll hire you. Every job worth having in the world wants you to prove your ability to perform before they will hire you. It's really not a big deal.
She looked exactly how I thought she would

I don't watch NCAAWB, but I have been following Paige for some time now. She plays the game different. Her decisiveness, vision, maturity, and skill are so much fun to watch.
I used to think that she as tall for a high school player. But she's actually tall for a college point guard too. She doesn't have to grow another inch -- she already has the build.... and the skills. Scary.
Freshman on the starting line up. 1st game, 1st to score. 👍👏💙
Very high bball IQ. Ms. Fundamental. Great balance. Never seems out of control. Reminds me of Gretzky. Not the biggest. Not the fastest. Great anticipation.
Looks like she’s having fun 🔥

Hate to say it but she plays like a guy, you could tell she played against guys growing up in her play style. With a dagger shot she’s going to be incredible next WNBA star.

Why is this soo much better then the wnba games. It seemed like everyone was really coordinated on the court
This game should not have been allowed. UMass Lowell plays at a D3 level while UConn plays at a top 5 D1 level. Paige was incredible as always, but playing really low level schools will not help her develop enough or prepare competively for the WNBA which will be much more physical and intense. Hopefully, this will be the only really weak team UConn plays this season.

Blow out. Let's see how she matches up against a strong team. Either way, she is one of few that will live up to the hype. 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
Great start to her career. There will be far more rigorous tests but this is a wonderful start.
Evolution of women’s ball: Cheryl Miller / Cynthia Cooper / Sheryl Swoops to Maya Moore and Elena Ella Donne. (WINGS) Carol Blazejowski / Sue Bird / the current GOAT Diana Taursai to Ionesco and this young woman. (Lot of pressure to put on her but she appears to be a gamer). Lisa Leslie to Rebecca Lobo to Candace Parker. It’s like all sports, as the sport grows, more people pick up it up. As the competition gets better, players get better: Learning more skills, training methods improve, athleticism increases, etc.
The commentator lady was straight hating 😂😂
She was throwing great passes and great defense the other team couldn’t handle UConn

She's definitely the type of player that could get ratings to the women's game. Her movements are smooth, she is dominate, and she is attractive. If she could get a rival that has those same attributes go into the WNBA around the same time she does, then the WNBA might actually make a profit. They need their Magic v Bird.
Yea, she's really good
