@@danbrown1344 yes, and Paige is a better shooter than both and the best passer I’ve ever seen. People mistake Bird’s success at PG and assume she is a gifted passer. She’s not. She’s very good and makes few mistakes, but Paige’s court vision, decision making and unbelievable accuracy with her passes is unique. Bird also just isn’t the offensive threat (11 pts a game in college and almost the same in WNBA), although she was a great 3 pt shooter in college, and isn’t a closer. DT is the only comp and Paige is a better shooter, has a more diverse offensive game, and is a better passer. DT has won championships and done it for a long time, so Paige has a ways to go, but in terns of total basketball skills( including IQ and clutch gene), Paige is 2.0. Oh, and she’s a FRESHMAN! Imagine what she’ll be like with another 20lbs and 10 more years of experience and skill dev. As a college player, there’s no comparison. As several others have said, DT and the others were great female players, but Paige plays like a dude. Much of it is subtle and requires an eye for body control, kinesthetic awareness, etc., but keep watching, you’ll see. She is. 1 of 1.

Weaknesses in her game: great length but thin. she should thicken up a bit as she matures but right now she could be had in the pick and roll/post action if they switch. I don't see her as a natural PG. It's an excuse to have the ball in her hands but defensively, I don't see her locking down against a jerky quick guard...she is SO fundamental that she plays with more flash than necessary...level of competition has always been the question. Yes, she plays well on National teams-WITH other National players but the game in, game out rigors of a city league are not on her resume...also, I wonder how fragile that confidence is? What happens when the girls start barking (back) at her?...Offensively, she is a strider so that means her rhythm to the rim never changes. She's gonna use a full stride. Great body control in the air but she's not being bumped in route to launch-and THAT is where the thinness/light-ness becomes a negative...she's not sudden so she can be crowded-think bump and run coverage in football. Lastly, her best asset is her vision, IQ and ability to make teammates look good. I would take that away by making her be selfish. Dare her to shoot the 3, invite the 1 on 1 play so those skills can't be shown off. It might make her uncomfortable to shoot too much, force the issue, flashy pass and turnover...

At least this game was more competitive for a few minutes than the previous one. Loved that monster screen @ 4:21, wish girls teams would use screens more often, not something I see a lot over where I am anyways. Not sure if coach was shaking his head at Paige or the girl she was passing to with that behind-the-back pass. I sometimes don't like players making complicated passes when a simple one will do... however players like Paige want to keep challenging themselves... and passers like Paige generate a ton of creation... which is probably the best team skill you can have. So.. give creators more slack... particularly when you are way ahead... because you might need her to do something hard in future games.

Geno shouldn't shake his head at her behind the back pass... Playing with flare like that will do 10x more for the womens game than uconn stomping on unranked competition for the millionth time.

Ik that was a great pass and I get that’s most players can’t keep up with that but that’s not her fault. I think maybe he was mad that the girl didn’t catch it, cause there is no reason to be mad at Paige for that

Pure all around talent. To me, her playing style similar to Anfernee Hardaway. Deceptive quickness with the ball, very fundamental, excellent court awareness and vision. She rebounds, plays defense and is a very good outside shooter. Future #1 WNBA pick right there.

I would of assumed since they played in practice nonstop for about 4months that they will be able to catch her passes first try. I forgot they had them split so they only played with their pod for awhile

At around 1:45 it looked like nika threw the ball to far which caused paige to speed up and pass the rim which is why she did a behind the back pass to Aubrey. But I don't think aubrey was ready for it which made her tip the ball out of bounds

Bueckers is a terrific player, playing at a different speed from everyone else on the court. It will be fun to see CN play a team that actually has an interior defense (uh, Stanford). That's where her passing will really shine, during switches. Meanwhile, Olivia simply has her way on the boards. That won't happen against Stanford.

She's not a true PG. She's just been the most talented on the court so coaches give her the ball...what you are seeing as strong is more her length or slipperiness but make no mistake, she is thin. She plays with change of direction but she is not sudden, she strides to the rim. Her vision and IQ are off the charts though.
