He is so special.

arraez didnt get a hit but he still got a walk to extend the on base streak. tomorrow he will get 3 hits maybe more. whenever he gets cold it only lasts 2 or 3 games maximum. then he breaks out with a 4 or 5 hit game and a new hot streak.

Great players have many off games throughout season but they pick it back up. I believe arraez will be hot next couole games 👌. Credit to steele too, hes a great pitcher who only allowed 2 runs until their BP blew it

This was what I call a Counsell loss. Pulling Steele who has no runs allowed in the middle of an inning where he is doing well, that's a Counsell. I'm not going to miss those kinds of losses.

glancing at the padres batting averages, they hit a lot. And it seems when our bp pitches to skilled hitters, they get rocked. suarez was effective for them right when we needed a breakthrough most. Alvarez was pitching all around the zone borders ... rarely for strikes. I'm going to take that as a step in the right direction. Better than the meatballs he'd been throwing. Two average bp men pitching to some good hitters gave the game away. We can keep sputtering along giving up the odd game due to our average bp. But guys are going to have to get better if we want to do anything in the post season.

Again, Cubs relief pitching not able to get the job done...

our bats arent the problem, when suzuki and bellinger return we should be fine. our problem is our starting pitchers pitch near flawless 6 innings and our bullpen throws the game away

@@evanfunk7335he hasn’t been great, he’s just been lucky. Considering he was a strikeout pitcher in Japan, it’s pretty bad that he has an extremely low k rate for a reliever right now. His walks are also up, and he’s sitting at like a 1.4k/BB rate. His k rate is statistically almost half, while his walk rate has more than doubled compared to his last season in Japan. It’s only a matter of time before timely hitting or seeing eye singles come back to bite you with metrics like that. Considering the one knock scouts had on him was that they didn’t know if he could sustain his k’s with relatively slow pitches for a reliever, it’s not really surprising.
