The Braves pitching staff is the only reason our record isn’t sitting at .500 or worse at this point in 2024. LHP Chris Sale is the big story, and he’s dominating at a Cy Young level once again. Additionally, RHP Reynaldo Lopez has been almost as dominant as a starter, and both Sale and Lopez weren’t even on the Braves roster in 2023. RHP Bryce Elder is starting the Sunday night game on ESPN. His fastball velocity is rarely over 90 mph these days, so I wouldn’t be surprised to see the Braves take another L tonight and go down 0-2 in the series. We’ve been very inconsistent on offense, and Marcel Ozuna has pretty much carried us on his back up to this point. The Braves offense set records last year and could breakout at any time, so let’s go!

Really tough loss to watch, the offense wasn’t very great at all. Still obviously haven’t hit our stride with the bats yet so i’m hoping eventually this offense starts clicking but it wasn’t the case tonight, only gave up 3 runs in the game entirely but couldn’t overcome. This team is too talented though to keep playing like this, hope sooner rather than later they start clicking. Elder on the mound tomorrow, #ForTheA

As a Braves fan, there hitting has to step it up. There pitching has been carrying most of the load for most games. They have so much potential and they have to prove it. Waldron did have a great start for the padres though.

Waldron surprisingly good after a shaky start. The two finishers delivered today. What an impressive 9th with 3Ks for your first ever big league save. That’s some way to do it. Meanwhile Profar and Arraez continue to carry the otherwise pathetic offence.

The only reliable clutch hitter Atlanta has had this year is Ozuna. He wasn't clutch tonight so neither was the team. Pitching has been much better this year. Of course, it must follow that these rock star hitters have become average.

Here's a weird stat from this game: Padres had 13 hits, 13 total bases meaning all of their hits were singles. Can't remember the last time I've seen a team with double digit hits and none of them extra bases hits. No wonder they only scored 3 runs. With 13 hits, you would think a team would have more than 3 runs

The Braves offense has really becomes pathetic in their inconsistency and it really has become dreadful to watch ( guess I pull for them too hard ) Max Fried was not at his best tonight but between him and the BP they still kept their team in the game giving up only 3 runs, a two-run deficit is not that hard to overcome, the Phillies also won their game tonight and sit 3 and a half games above the Braves in the NL East, the Braves had better get things together or before long they'll find themselves out 10 or more games back soon.

Yep they’re gonna be far behind unless something changes, I don’t think any team fears their offense anymore because they’re quite pathetic most of the time now, I watched Ozuna take three strikes in the middle of the strike zone and he didn’t swing at any of them and OUT!!! Doesn’t make any sense to me.

They sure are, and they’re just doing stupid stuff not swinging at balls in the strike zone and reaching for balls that are clearly outside the zone and getting thrown out on base, just not paying attention and quite honestly they now don’t really seem to care, it’s mind boggling.
