ഞാനും എൻ്റെ ജീവിതത്തിൽ ഒരിക്കൽ ഇതുപോലെ വിചിത്രമായ കണ്ണുള്ള ഒരു കുട്ടിയെ നേരിട്ട് കണ്ടിട്ടുണ്ട്. ഒരു പതിമൂന്ന്, പതിനാല് വർഷങ്ങൾക്ക് മുൻപ് എൻ്റെ സ്കൂൾ കാലഘട്ടത്തിലാണ് ഞാൻ കണ്ടത് . ഒരിക്കൽ ഒരു വൈകുന്നേരം എൻ്റെ നാട്ടിലെ സ്കൂളുകൾ വിട്ട സമയം ,സ്കൂളിൻ്റെ പരിസരത്ത് വെച്ചാണ് ഞാൻ ആ വിചിത്രമായ കണ്ണുകളുള്ള പയ്യനെ കാണുന്നത് .ആ പയ്യൻ സ്കൂൾ യൂനിഫോമിൽ ബസ്സ് കാത്ത് നിൽക്കുകയായിരുന്നു , അവൻ്റെ കണ്ണിൻ്റെ കൃഷ്ണമണിയുടെ നിറം നല്ല തിളങ്ങുന്ന മഞ്ഞ നിറമായിരുന്നു . അതുപോലൊരു കണ്ണ് ഞാൻ ആകെ ഒരു തവണയെ ജീവിതത്തിൽ കണ്ടിട്ടുള്ളൂ . ആ പയ്യനെ പിന്നീട് ഞാൻ കണ്ടിട്ടുമില്ല . ഇനി ആ കുട്ടി അന്ന് വെച്ചത് മഞ്ഞക്കളറുള്ള ലെൻസാണൊ എന്ന് എനിക്കറിയില്ല . പക്ഷെ അന്ന് ആ കുട്ടിയെ കണ്ടപ്പോൾ ഫാഷനു വേണ്ടി ലെൻസ് വാങ്ങി ഉപയോഗിക്കാൻ മാത്രം സാമ്പത്തികമുള്ള ഒരു കുട്ടിയായി എനിക്ക് കണ്ടിട്ട് തോന്നിയിരുന്നില്ല . എന്തായാലും ആ തിളങ്ങുന്ന മഞ്ഞ കൃഷ്ണമണിയുള്ള കണ്ണ് അടിപൊളിയായിരുന്നു .
