P.W.D. 60 lbr. gun rotating carriage - New Zealand

In the early days of WW2 New Zealand had few tanks and heavy guns with which to protect itself. The Public Works Department (P.W.D.) under Robert Semple embarked on a famous tank project but they also experimented with a fully rotating gun carriage mounting for the 60 lbr. heavy gun.
Upon initial collection by the New Zealand Army a wheel came off this gun mounting which caused much consternation and the mount had to go back to the workshops for repair. In this footage, however, we get to see it being towed at high speed without any problems.
Later it is also easily repositioned thanks to the 4 individually mounted pairs of wheels.
This video was found during research on a book dedicated to the Bob Semple Tank. The book is due for release 2024.
