It has some pertinence today. Proper stowage and march discipline never go out of style.

I drove the two AVRE versions for several years. It was a bit slow but very reliable and quite roomy inside.

Maybe it's just my speaker, but I had to crank the speaker all the way up to get the narration to a reasonable volume level.

You must be in a time warp of over 70 years. It clearly is not the best tank to “ever” serve the british army. That is all…..out.

It was in its day the best tank to serve the British Army. Please don't tell me Chieftain was? I served 9 long hard dirty years on Chieftain and it was the biggest piece of crap ever inflicted on the British Army!!!!!!!!

These look like trials in the UK and Germany around 1946-47 The tanks include A41 Pilot Centurion, Centurion MkI and MkII. Most of the MkIs were later sold to Jordan and the MkIIs converted to Armoured Recovery Vehicles. They were only built in small numbers pending the production version with 20 Pounder gun, the Centurion Mk3 entering service in 1948.

Film is dated 1949 Mk1 and 2 would have been used for driver training

Nagyon jó kis film. Egykor én is harckocsi vezetőket képeztem. Amint elnéztem itt is 2x kellett kuplungolni sebesség váltáskor. Ezt ma már nem nagyon ismerik. T 55 váltója is igy működőtt. Mi télen a motorház tetején aludtunk. A hűtő rácson. A kocsi ponyvájával takartuk be magunkat. Köszi a feltöltést. Thanks. ❤❤❤❤❤

@@markhayes8743 This film looks like a compilation of footage as some vehicles were photographed before 1949. I would suggest trials rather than driver training at RAC Depot.

A lot of people comment on tanks when it is obvious that they have never served in a tank regiment or even served in the British army. The centurion was produced in large numbers and was sold to many countries. The Israelis bought many second hand ones and used them in all their wars with the arab countries.

The Centurion was even more lethal once the L7, 105mm Rifled Gun was fitted, saved Isreal during the 1967 and 1974 wars against Soviet Tanks

Obviously the driver had x ray vision to see the knife edge, then the vertical drop to reverse the gun so to not bury it,highly trained as the staff officer.

Panther had good mobility and once it had its awful reliability problems sorted out it became an effective late war tank. Time wasn’t kind to the Panther as it was obsolete at the end of the war

Well, the French would disagree. They had all the Panthers left over from WW2, and all the time in the world to make them work. It wasn't a success.
