Thank you. This was exactly what I needed to know and how to do it. I didn't need to splice it but if the connector didn't fit and I didn't know how to do it, it was good to include that info for people that don't.

Hello, I have an older ge oven, model jbp76gs3ww. After a self clean the stove tops work, but the door is locked with no display lights and the oven no longer works. In searching online the thermostat fuse is the likely culprit but I'm having difficulty funding it. In taking off the upper back panel, the thermostat has a circuit board with components and a component that looks like a mini transformer with 2 fat 'winds' on it - but nothing that looks like a fuse. There's a 'connector/coupling' plastic splice thing that looks similar to what you replaced - but one wire goes to the oven light indicator and the other to the surface light indicator - so I'm guessing its just a connector for easy wiring etc. Do you have any other ideas as to where the thermostat fuse might be? There's many wires going in to under the stove tops, but I don't know if I can access that and raise the top with the door locked. Any help would be greatly appreciated. This model might involve replacing the whole thermostat circuit board or something, I don't know. Its a small brown circuit board with components - screwed to a larger green circuit board. Thanks for your time.

Good question. The manufacturer has elected to supply only a limited number of replacement temperature sensor variations and therefore modifications to the harness connector may be required. The specifications of the sensor are typically the same for thousands off models, but the configuration of the connector varies from model to model for reasons unknown to us.

So how do you test if your oven is reaching the right temp? We have an oven for about 9 years now and it seems like its not reaching the right temp anymore. It cooks food but food seems to be taking a long longer to cook and trying to make brownies or other baked goods can be difficult to time if its not cooking at the right temp.

There are oven temperature thermometers available from hardware stores and appliance retailers that you could try, although they may not be precise enough. Most electronic ranges using thermistor style temp sensors will have a self testing method available through the electronic control. What is your model number?

Question: Does it matter which wire connects? The quick connect on my wire harness melted, so I will need to use ceramic wire connectors to connect the new sensor to the harness. Do the wires need to be connected (like hot and neutral on lights) or doesn't it matter? From the video, it looks like it doesn't matter but I want to be certain. Thanks for any help.

The wires are not polarized so then can be interchanged. Using ceramic connectors are best for those connections.

My model number is FFEF3015LS I'm ready to take a sledge hammer to mine as it is constantly flashing F10 with the only way to get it to stop is pulling the whole oven out. It doesn't even get that hot as my food is always under cooked. Is it okay for me to just rip this annoying part out and leave it out.

  • @partselect

Hi, when researching the fault code F10 for your model, the manufacture suggests it could be the oven temperature sensor probe or the electronic control board. If you unplug the range and access the temperature sensor you can check the resistance of the sensor with an ohm meter. If the ohm meter reads 2500 ohms or higher, then you have a defective sensor causing the issue. If the sensor is okay i would then check the control board connection in the range.

Listen, we are the consumers. We deserve quality products, from respectable company's who have enough INTEGRITY, to stand behind their product. To keep breaking down at the owners expense, is not what we signed up for. So, do like me! Dont ever by Frigidare again. Warn your families and friends. Share this all over social media. We have to let our voices be heard. We want quality products. We demand quality products, because the dollar is worth less, and much harder to earn in this day and age.

I guess none of us, were smart enough to consult the consumer guide first. Frigidare products are the worse. It is not a quality product, and service stinks too. I wonder if their appliances were made in China. Then you have a service repair guy stripping and splicing, instead of installing a new part. That is for the birds.
