Oven Baked Brisket vs. Smoked Brisket | Battle of the Briskets!

Today on Anne's Family Recipe, it's the Battle of the Briskets--Oven Baked vs. Smoked Brisket! My friend Chay is smoking his dry aged beef brisket from Logan Family Farms on his Traeger with all kinds of delicious seasonings and flavor infusing tricks. I will be oven roasting my dry aged brisket low and slow in a zesty Tex Mex style rub. Who's brisket will reign supreme? Just wait until you see the results!

Logan Family Farms Brisket Recipe
Tex Mex Rub
3 Tbsp. brown sugar
1 Tbsp. salt
2 Tbsp. paprika
1 1/2 tsp. garlic powder
1 1/2 tsp. onion powder
1 1/2 tsp. cumin
2 Tbsp. chili powder
1 1/2 tsp. black pepper
1 Tbsp. parsley flakes
1 tsp. dried thyme
1 tsp. dried basil
1 tsp. nutmeg
Pat rub mixture over entire surface of the (thawed) brisket. Wrap brisket in a double layer of foil. Refrigerate at least 24 hours or up to two days.
Place wrapped brisket, fat side up, on a rimmed sheet pan. Roast at 250* for about 1 hour per pound (ex. 6 pound brisket cooks for about 6 hours).
Do not open the foil while cooking. Place a small pan of water in the oven while the brisket cooks. Allow the meat to rest in the foil for about 1 hour after cooking. Slice the brisket against the grain. ENJOY!

These look soooo good! I love brisket. We have a small electric smoker and love it. But the oven way look very easy. For me it’s a matter of weather since we live in Ohio! Snow then oven. Warmer then smoker! Thanks Anne

Team Smoker for sure. I have one on right now, stalled at 165 and ready for peach butcher paper wrap. I’m sure the oven one is great too. I just prefer smoked.

I love it either way, but smoked meats aren't good for you. Do them in moderation. Loved the video❤❤❤

The water pan doesnt do anything when the brisket it wrapped in foil and he said that using paper to wrap the brisket will allow smoje to get into the brisket and it will not allow any smoke to get into it. Besides using a pelket smojer doesnt allow alot of smoke period

My husband has been smoking briskets for about a year on our Weber kettle grill, and they are amazing! He doesn't find a need for butcher paper. We do the foil boat technique and finish cooking the meat in the oven.
Enjoyed the video but doesn't make a lot of sense. How can you cook something for so long at 250 degrees - it would be cremated?

250* F! Low and slow for the meat to become tender.

@@AnnesFamilyRecipe Agh ok thanks will try, just a tip it would be great if you could also include the temperatures in Celsius. The majority of the world uses Celsius now, i think USA is the only exception.

Please give the words of salvation to someone cuz God wants everyone to go to heaven and just want to say that asking Jesus into my heart was the best decision I ever made and put your faith on jesus cuz jesus is the son of God and Jesus is our savior and Jesus is perfect
