Hi Ove. Great video. Your approach to reviews is very thoughtful and rather calming. I just bought this bass after watching your review and am excited to be getting my first 5-string. Thanks for posting this. There aren’t too many reviews available yet.

Thanks for the review... only thing that I noticed that you missed is the adjustable bridge - which can vary the gap between the strings by +- 1.5 mm. Great review overall... pergaps a follow up video on utilizing the controls in actual application would be awesome. Keep up the great work... thanks again

Ove Bosh nice job you nailed it. I endorse Dingwall bass's and matter of fact I bought my first Dingwall from Ralph Novak. I also play Ibanez bass's. I have a long history with both Dingwall and Ibanez.

I'm about to go with the Ibanez, though, like you I prefer Dingwall. I can continue to save for a Dingy or grab this gem and honestly not really be disappointed. Even buying this one has been a long wait.

Right on with the Bandora. Also, in England, it was called the Opharion, or even "Pandora's Box"! Because my wrist doesn't like to go backwards, before he became famous, Sheldon Dingwall fretted a P-Bass style neck with a square nut fanning forward. I have pix on TalkBass. Thanks.

Hi Ove. Nice review. Helpful in getting to know more about Ibanez SR series. In mind for beginners like me which would you say was a lighter bass and which has a thinner neck....Ibanez SR 405 or 505 compared to Yamaha trbx305?

Thanks Cathy. The 405 and the 505 have a 45 mm nut, 19,5 mm at 1st fret, TRBX 305 has a 43 mm nut and 20,5 mm at 1st fret. No infos on the weight, sorry ;-))

I thought of saving up for two years and buy a Dingwall, now I want this as a slight upgrade from my SRFF805. How does this compare with the old SRFF805/806? In my eyes, the only difference is that top you get with the SRMS

Hi Freddy, the term "fanned frets" is trademarked, so I guess this is one of the main reasons why the FF series changed to the MS series. Maybe tops, but.....

I have a SRMS805... it's probably lighter than my RG370AHMZ 6 string... or at least it feels that way. Very comfortable... and I have several back injuries... so take it for what it's worth. It's a great and beautiful instrument

They look too tiny like a toy compared at a Fender Jazz bass or A EBMM or a bongo.
